The 19th annual Photo a Go-Go Exhibit and Auction at The Bakery Photo Collective featured…read morephotographs from established and emerging photographers. There was a wide range of styles and formats, as well as a wide range of prices - $100 to around $2000. When you enter the exhibit you are given a number and a form to fill out to be used with bidding on the photographs. Each photograph has a retail value - if you are willing to pay the retail value, you can bid that and it is yours. Otherwise you can enter a bid and put your assigned number next to it and can continue to bid until the auction ends. If you need to leave before the end of the auction, they will call or email you if your bid is accepted. Unfortunately (or fortunately since I was getting up there in #'s) I was outbid on the pieces I bit on. The auction was very well attended, perhaps not just due to the opportunity to see some beautiful art, but also to see rockabilly band King Memphis rock the house, and enjoy the free food (cold cuts, veggie platters, dolmas, pita and hummus) and free drinks. Photo A Go-Go supports the Bakery Photo Collective's darkroom and digital facilities on Forest Avenue, and provides funding for educational workshops and artist-lectures series.

This place has many wonderful items inside of it. From rockets to simple crafts, there is bound to be something for the child with an imagination. I ordered Custom T-Shirts for my side business and loved the experience and product so much, I decided to order hats. The pricing options are quite reasonable if you are going to order around 100 pieces. I consider the following in my opinion; local business, turn around time and quality of material and printing. They have a cute location and friendly/nice staff, there to support your needs, whether they are your direct consultant or the person there covering. They have samples in the waiting lobby entrance area, where you can feel the quality of the different shirts and hat options. They also indicate whether they have a special deal happening with different product lines. For hats, we had. specific style in mind, even though they had recommended what is most popular with local craft breweries in the area, we found a fitted flex cap that was more of the quality and style we were looking for. The price point was a little higher, but I thought it was worth the upgrade. I was in that store today looking for 2 different types of hooks for the house. I asked an…read moreemployee; A old man with a large gut, and he brought me to two sections of the store. In the second area he lingered a few feet behind me for a long time after I found the area I needed: which I noticed, thought was strange, and I got the sense that he was trying to be intimidating. Then another costumer needed help finding something so he walked a away for less than a minute. Then he returned & continued eyeballing me. Very obvious and intrusive. After I found what I needed I walked to the front, and when I passed him I said; "You watching me like a hawk?" His reply was "yeah". I've been followed around in stores before, and I really don't like being profiled. But he admitted what he was he was doing which is accusing someone of being a thief by de facto. I'm not a thief, and have never stolen from a business. I voiced my protest to the guy at the front of the store. I really don't like leaving reviews that are negative because it affects everyone there. But when there's a employee who acts like that I'm sure the business owner would want to be aware. I'm almost 50, have never stolen from a business, and really don't like being treated like that.

Weeks ago I went into Urban Garden Center on Warren Ave to get a pesticide and when I walked in,…read morethere were NO employees wearing masks. Seven employees working, no mask in sight other than the one that was covering my mouth and nose. Many employees were so close together that their arms were touching - still, no masks. I reported the business to the City of Portland, and the health inspector that called me back did let me know that he paid a visit to UGC and, again, no masks were being worn by five employees that day. I drove by a few days ago, and due to the elevation of Warren Ave in regards to where the store is placed, I was able to look inside. Lo and behold, despite Portland's health inspector paying them a visit and speaking with the manager and employees, I saw multiple employees without masks in the few seconds I was able to look in the store while driving by. If you value your health and the health of those you love, avoid this place at ALL COSTS. Support stores that care about their customers enough to wear a mask (seriously - it's not THAT hard!), give quality customer service, and of course, a store whose manager isn't aiming to work at and maintain a super-spreader location. I will never be back, and I will continue to urge everyone I know to steer clear of this establishment.

It took me holding in the line nearly 10 minutes to be told that no one could answer my question, but that it had been directed to someone in the factory who would call me back. Needless to say no one ever called. Be careful about doing business with these people. This is my first time, and I am beginning to doubt their honesty.
