My first rating would probably be a 3.5 closing in on 4. I will review with future visits. Newly…read moreopening southern/soul food. Owner/cook Babae is also a nearby pastor. She expanded from cooking for her churchfellows. Spacious room, 20+ tables, clean. Serve perch, mullet, catfish as well as bbq'd meats. Baked beans are a star--richly maple-sweet and meaty. Lima beans made with pig tail bones and flavorful but perhaps too salty. Baked mac & cheese was great/cheesy, but I'm a creamier/not baked fan. Unique peach cobbler with a light cake and peaches on the bottom. Delicious change. Anxious to try the grits & fish breakfast. I have no doubt Mz Babae will have a following with her southern/soul food. PROS--friendly staff, (Danica-attentive server) sat quickly, nice flavors, great prices, fair portions, served piping hot, owner visited table, real silverware & plates, great menu options including burgers and sandwiches, hot dogs, serve breakfast, lunch & supper CONS-unpleasant odor upon entering, water tastes like well water, didn't enjoy pig tail bones in the meaty lima beans and the (delicious) baked beans, Pepsi products.

The staff are very friendly. The kitchen is a little slow getting the food out, but i believe that will improve once the kinks are worked out before the actual Grand Opening. Overall, I would recommend it. I will review again when I go for breakfast and/or lunch

COME HUNGRY! We have passed by so many times and it just wasn't a time to eat and it smelled so…read moregood and you could hear the music blaring. The portions are real man sized so be prepared. At first I thought the prices were a little high but then I saw what all we got and it was well worth what they charge. We actually were confused at first by the Vegan trailer outside. I assumed they cooked in the house and sold out of the food trailer but that is a whole separate business, when I asked for meat they said "over there." We went inside the house and we were greeted by 2 nice beautiful ladies that explained all our questions, as it was our first trip in, and we put our order in. There is a good bit of room inside if you want to dine in but we were on the road so Togo it was. We ordered the 2 ribs lunch, a half rack which was 6 bones and the pork sandwich. I got the hot bbq on the half rack and it was actually medium in hotness just fyi. I'm not a huge fan of beef ribs because most people can't get them tender enough but TOH did the deed and they were fairly tender. We will be back again to try other options.

A Taste of Heaven Rib Shack - Honest Review…read more I ordered the chicken, potato salad, mac and cheese, and cornbread, and I really expected the food to be off the chain, especially being from New Orleans where flavor is everything. The service was fine, but the food itself missed the mark for me. The seasoning was bland, the sides didn't have that homemade taste I was hoping for, and shortly after eating, I started feeling nauseous, which was disappointing and concerning. I wanted to love it, but the meal just didn't live up to the name or the hype.

First off...service is 5 star! I received a sincere welcome as soon as I stepped inside. The vibe…read moreis a 3 because its simple but clean. There was a bit of smoke in the air but it was interfering with my breathing. The food was a 4. The Mac n cheese was basic that you expect from restaurant. I never expect or receive homemade quality mac n cheese. It was not nasty, just not traditional baked style. The turkey wing was tender. The collard greens were perfect! They were not salty or bland. The cornbread was good. Overall, I would visit again because they offer menu options that are homestyle. Plenty to choose from if you dont eat pork or beef. Oh the deciding factor for me when choosing to visit a new restaurant is the health score. They had a 96A!

Customer service is great…read more Food is good, but you have to be aware of the prices posted on their a la carte menu. All though the prices are reasonable, they are actually higher than whats posted on their display board. The manager/owner is aware of this because I personally spoke with him several months ago and he has yet to change the pricing on the display board to align with whats actually being charged. I don't have a problem with paying whatever the price would be, my problem is with them not being upfront with their pricing. It's a matter of principle. I have been given cause to question their ethics and if I feel that they are not ethical, unfortunately I am unable to support the business. So my concluding message is buyer beware!

The first time, I still had about a 10-15 minute wait even after the app said my food was ready. This second time, I was able to get my order right away when I walked in. The staff is always friendly regardless of wait time. The restaurant is really a grab and go location; there isn't sufficient space or set-up for dining in. Each time I've been, there has been consistent for traffic in and out, so it's pretty popular. On my first visit (while standing around waiting for my order to be ready), I learned from listening to other ppl order that there is a lunch special where the meals featuring chicken are cheaper. I believe it goes thru 1pm. In my first visit, I tried lots of things and was largely disappointed in the taste. I had the brown stewed chicken and oxtail meals (both ordered with heavy gravy), a turkey wing, a chicken soup, and coco bread. The oxtails were the only thing I truly enjoyed. The sides on the meals were just okay except the plantains. The plantains were hard and dry, truly inedible. The chicken soup wasn't flavorful enough; I wouldn't order it again. For me, the turkey wing seasoning was too spicy, but my husband enjoyed it. On this second visit, I went only to pick up two turkey wings for my husband, as he has continued to talk about trying the turkey wing again. He ate them both for dinner along with some homemade rice a d veggies. He wanted to order sides but I discouraged that based on the first experience. Pete's is located in a strip mall that seems to have some other Caribbean businesses, including a market next door. The parking lot has an approaching need for repavement and line repainting. *uploaded pics are from first visit*

I really like that they have different sizes to choose from because most Jamaican places have one huge size. They have small, medium and large. I got the small and it really filled me up.
