Disappointing. I had expected better from their displays & staff in general. They do have very nice landscaping, but their deer displays outside made of wood were badly worn. Some missing parts or obviously broken. It was a Sunday, but they had little going on. read more

Bass Pro Shops Santa's Wonderland - We take our kids to Bass Pro Shops Santa's Wonderland every year to visit Santa Claus. Santa's Wonderland is always beautifully decorated with snow, reindeer, elves, and an array of treats. They also offer lots of other activities to participate in while you wait to see Santa. They have crafts, coloring, and usually some sort of interactive game. We usually double team: one person stands in line and the other takes the kids to the activities. You usually have to wait in line for at least 30 minutes, sometimes longer. BUT, Santa is amazing and you get one photo FREE for each kid, YES, I said FREE!!! If you are looking for Santa, this is the place to go in Columbia! read more

This review is especially for the boat service department. My Nitro is now solidly "out of warranty" and because I run it hard (way hard, I fish almost as much as the big tournament guys), it developed a few concerns. I expected a sizable bill when I dropped it off, chalking it up to "if you want to play, you gotta pay". Imagine my surprise when my bill to fix concerns for an intermittent electrical problem AND an engine warning horn, along with a few little things was about 1/5 of what I thought the reasonable minimum would be. These guys are honest, friendly, and genuinely concerned about taking care of their customers. I've never had a bad experience doing business with these guys! read more

I took my 7 year old niece and 2 year old nephew here for their craft saturdays during the holidays. Parking was a breeze. It was easy to locate where they were doing the craft at. They had these adorable little bags the kids could add a snowman template to, letters to write to Santa and a picture to color with plenty of markers. The employee that was there to help was very kind and helpful. They also had several games you could play. We stopped to see Santa and the kids enjoyed that. We even got a free photo. Well worth the saturday trip for a fun craft and the bonus to see Santa. I am sure we will be back next year. read more

This store was a bit average. We were on a weekday evening and it appeared that this is a typically slow time so very few employees. The setup of the store seemed confusing and awkward. The gentlemen greeting was very helpful and inviting but other members of what little staff we saw were below par considering our experiences in other bass pro. Hopefully better next time. read more

This is a small Bass Pro (As compared to the two in the KAnsas City metro. It's nice that it is here in Columbia. They have a decent selection of camping, fishing and clothing items. We are usually interested in their firearms. They have a moderate selection of both hand guns and long guns. My issue (and this is a store policy) is the trigger locks which prevent a prospective buyer from a dry fire. This can be a problem if you are particular about your triggers. (most of us are!) The CZ 75 we purchased from another store had a terrible trigger (but at least we KNEW that before we purchased it!) which we had worked on at a later time. At Bass Pro, unless you have tried the weapon elsewhere, you are stuck! I do NOT like this policy. Cabelas does not have this policy, which makes it far easier to really handle a gun prior to purchase. So, IF you need something for the great outdoors of Columbia, this will do, but again, a bit limited in selection. read more

took my kids there and a couple of my nieces to see the fish also when we were there they had a fishing expo out back in their pond. as we walked out and barley stepped onto the outdoor deck we were barked at by the staff and told if we were not in boy scouts we could not fish and were a liability outside, so that was alarming to say the least mind you myself and family are avid outdoor enthusiast. yes i will go back i'm. it gonna be that guy "that store made me mad i'm never going back !" it's bass pro and not to many stores like it around unless i amazon it ha ha. just disappointed in customer service. read more

This is a small Bass Pro but it's ok. It's nowhere near the size of the one in Springfield but we're talking about Columbia here. The selection is decent and the staff is fairly helpful. The only thing I hate about this place is getting to it. It's absolutely a pain especially on the weekends. read more

Try before you buy! Saw a crossbow I liked in a magazine, read some reviews and seemed like a good deal. Was planning on going on a mini-hunting trip with family on my week back from school. Well get the bow, shoot it, and its horribly off at only 10 yards. Turns out the rail is bent, verified by a local gun shop when the guy put a level on it. Well we ordered it online, so I check the website, it says you can exchange items made online in the store. Call the store, replacement wasnt there (no problem, all part of the holidays), but they had one for about 25 dollars cheaper but its 2.5 hours away and i would be able to trade it, the person even said they'd put it together (hunting/archery dept was very friendly/understanding over the phone!!) So make the drive, get there and the lady says i cant make the exchange since it wasnt bought there. I told her the website says you can, and she gets the typical power tripping low-level management attitude you always see on these people and said I'd have to mail it back to the website. Normally wouldnt have bothered me, but now missing a fun hunting trip. 4 hours of driving and gas down the drain. Customer service,0/5, website either misleading or lying 0/5, archery/hunting dept very friendly over the phone and tried to go the extra mile for me 5/5. read more

The way the salesman behind the counter treated me you would think he was talking to a child. Talked to me like an idiot, interrupted me and turned his back on me and walked away in the middle of the conversation. They didn't just lose a gun sale they lost my business for life. read more

I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISSAPPOINTED IN A SHOPPING EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE Me and my dad are passing through columbia one day and decided to stop in. My dad starts looking at a pair of boots and receives excellent service in that dept.but meanwhile i wondered over to the firearms and proceeded to look at 22 rifeles. Now keep in mind i didnt walk in there to buy a gun but i thought they had a really good deal on a marlin .meanwhile my dad walks up and he thought it was a good deal also and asked if they had two of them in stock? No problem they do we,ll take two of them. so the salesman starts the paperwork for mine and calls another salesman to do dads paperwork. well my dad didnt have his proper home address on his driver license so he had to have another state issued proof of his home address. hes franticly looking through his wallet and the man sees his fishing license and says that will work untill he unfolds it and notices its last years so now it wont work . by now my guy has me approved so i mention ill just purchase two guns. no we cant do that because of the salesmans no to much and based on the conversasion they cant do that. so dad says thats alright ill be back through next week . so were still working on my stuff i quietly mention why dont you walk right over there and get your fishing license and come back. he walks away and another salesman #3 walks up and says their gonna need proof of proper address to and walks away. So dads original salesman says that was my boss and if your dad comes back based on what they no hes not going to sell the gun to him for fear of getting fired.So now dads gone to get his fishing license and im standing there already knowing hes not getting his gun or his fishing license but were still moving forword with mine. dad comes back over with a new fishing without having to have proof of proper address but then is informed based on what they know they cant sell him the gun. he still takes it pretty well i thought and jokingly meantions well at least i got my fishing license . He casually asked will that price still be good next week. and the salesman says o yea thats our everyday price. so dad says ill just stop by next week. So wee go to check out and my dad who is also my boss is going to pay the bill because its friday afternoon and when we get home and my mom cuts me my paycheck well sqaure up then. so dad whips out his credit card and bass pro rewards card to pay the bill and were informed im buying the gun i have to pay for it so we pool our cash together and were a little short yet so unbelievably they cant sell me the gun with his credit card. well the paperwork is done can u hold the gun for a couple days? no we cant do that i can hold it for an hour or so untill you get your money figured out. so my dad not believing in atm cards we have decided we cant buy a gun here. so we head up front to still purchase the boots we are standing in line and i notice bass pro gift cards and i think we had the same thought so we buy the boots and a gift card worth one hundred eighty dollars and i head back to get my gun. when i get back there and they finally find my salesman who is appearently on break because this whole ordeal has now taken well over an hour now walks back in . i give him the gift card and he says i already wrote lost sale on my paperwok so we will have to do it all again. do you have time to do it again? yes i do so the salesman asked anotherone i already wrote lost sale on his paperwork do i have to do it again he says yes then he hollars to the boss guy do i have to do it again he says yes by this timei can tell this is not something he wants to do but i dont really care so my salesman walks over to a little area where i thought he was gathering up stuff to do it again and i start noticing a congergation of salesmans in a huddle a couple of them turn and look at me then the boss salesman walks up to me and says were not going to sell you the gun because of how we went about it. so i asked him your telling me that i now have a one hundred eighty dollar gift card and my gun was sitting there with my name cleared through atf to purchase it and your own store gift card wont work because of the way i did it or because they overheard my conversation with my dad. the boss salesman responded to me they didnt tell me to go buy the gift card. after about an hour and a half we walked out of there with a pair of boots paid in full a fishing license and a hundred and eighty dollar gift card. my dad just always talks about how much he loves bass pro i have only been to bass pro one other time and that was in springfeild I can gaurantee u i will never darkin their doorway again at least not in columbia and i would like to meantion the boss salesman name is blake and i think based on what i heard or seen he should be running a beauty shop somewhere instead of a gun dept.
