Ok, the store is impressive bc it's got a rainforest cafe or Disney jungle cruise vibe going on. The interior is on theme. I was initially lured in because they sell tracker ATVs here and I have never seen one in a store. Then I saw the aquarium, which is very educational. There is a fish guide panel on the side that helps you identify the different fish, like arctic char. The store is huge. There's designated sections for hunting, water sports, fishing, archery, camping and clothing. There was also a small toys area and birding area with a cool high tech bird camera that identifies species. They have several boats in store, if you are in the market. The prices aren't bad, with some good sales on things like dehydrators. The staff were very nice and knowledgeable about the bear spray specifications. A fun store to bring kids. read more

When I was a young teenager, I used to dream about shopping at Bass Pro Shops. Sadly, I could only browse through their mail order catalogues since there was no Bass Pro Shops in Canada and there was only one store in Springfield, Missouri which I could not convince my parents to make a trip just to shop for fishing tackle. My jaws dropped when I heard that Bass Pro Shops was coming to the Lower Mainland and I could now shop for bass specific tackle in real life and not through mail order catalogues or online. Although Bass Pro Shops in Tsawwassen isn't as big (145,000 sq feet) as the store in Springfield, Missouri which is 500,000 sq feet, this Canadian location is still worth a visit if you're into the general fishing or just the outdoors. They also carry boating, camping, clothing equipment and even home furniture. It is very true that Bass Pro Shops caters only to largemouth and smallmouth bass fisherman, but many of the lures also work for salmon, trout, steelhead and many other fresh and saltwater species. This store mainly sells bass fishing lures, especially bass specific spinnerbaits which is rarely found anywhere else and bass lure brands like Rebel, Storm, Strike King and Bill Lewis - as you won't find them in small mom and pop stores or local big box stores such as Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire and Army and Navy. The selection of bass lures is massive with almost every possible colour and pattern that is available! In addition, they also carry fly fishing equipment, including premium brands such as Orvis, Sage and Hardy and the latter is not found anywhere else in Canada. Staff were friendly and the store was beautifully designed with a very outdoorsy feel to it. I wish it wasn't so far away from my home, but that would be a good thing as I would probably spend too much money, as the prices for a lot of their stuff aren't all that low. read more

I spent 90 minutes on hold only to drive 2 hours to the store to find out they don't have what is listed on the website. The staff is not helpful and not knowledgeable. I'd give a 0 but that's not an option. After driving to, I spent another 26 minutes trying to call customer service to not get an answer. Do better. I will not ever spend another dollar at basspro. read more

If you are a camper or prepper this place is a good time. It's far from me, so I've only been a couple times on very specific missions. Great flexible returns and exchange policy. I love how there are different price entry points for items here, ie cheap version, mid version, pro version. Lots of parking, no pressure sales people. I do love MEC, but this place is a great back up. read more

A few years ago I purchased some redhead socks that were supposed to have a life time guarantee. the socks eventually got holes in them. My wife went to get them replaced today but they said they changed there policy and no longer honored there guarantee. I have never heard of anything like this. How can you ever trust them. I have to admit my husband was a customer at stillwater sports, and still is. I still recommend locals check them out too in ladner. But the selection at bass pro is pretty unbeatable. Staff are really great, very friendly. Support your LOCAL hunting and fishing store first, but if they don't have what you need, then I'm going to say that there is a 99.9% chance these guys have what you need in stock. I've spent way too much money here on camping stuff. I have to admit at one point I felt like getting a job here just for the employee discount ;) read more

Went all the way there to buy some 9mm ammo that they put on sale. Went to buy a case and they told me that they would only sell me 1 box of 50 rounds. There was no mention of any limits in there ad nor on the shelve the ammo was displayed on. Complete lack of customer service, rude people working in the gun dept and an utter joke. No one buys just on box of ammo. Just a waste of my time. read more

we live in the island. i bought the outboard around 6 month ago and still under the waranty and the swivel been dont work . we are bring it back for waranty, they take a look and say ok they fix it under the waranty, we say that we live in the island it anyway can they send the part and we are can put it on by our self , they say ok. After 2 day we come back to the island , they call me and say the part it come and how can you pay?????????? i say im sorry ...... LARRY the man at boat service at me to pay for because over tied and you have to pay, im say : im sory it not over tied because i used many outboard i know im not over tied. I have been here a lot and every time I come everything seems to be on par. First of all the service seems to be nice and pretty helpful and second they always seem to have everything so I always come here for fishing supplies and other stuff instead of driving to 1 or 2 stores and finding out they don't have it. The only reason why it isn't a 4 star is some items seem to be a bit overpriced, like for example it was my friends sons birthday and he really wanted a stuffed fish from here for some reason. So I went to get him it and it was very overpriced, $35 for it. I thought it was at least $12 over priced. But still I think it is a solid 4 stars read more

We went to the Bass Pro shop restaurant today and although the food was great, the prices reasonable, the staff OK up to a point we left felling totally ripped off. We ordered fish and chips...excellent and fish tacos...excellent. Upon checking our bill we found two "extra" charges. The fish tacos came with a salad but the waitress told my wife she could also have Clam Chowder...no mention of an up charge. The fish tacos did not have any salsa with them and she asked for salsa.....waitress did not mention an up charge...everywhere you go fish tacos comes with salsa. When I checked the bill, I found out she had been charged $2.00 for the Clam Chowder and $1.00 for a jigger sized serving of salsa. When we queried the waitress she said this is an "AMERICAN" company and this is how they do it. She also said many others have complained about this practice but they are not willing to change. We suggested the servers inform the customers of this practice of up charging! We spend six weeks each year in Palm Springs and we know this is not the way "American" restaurants operate.....perhaps Bass Pro Shop feels they can just gouge Canadians and we will accept it. I can assure you we will not accept this practice and we shall inform our friends of this episode. read more

I go to this place often and I've been racking up some points. I have really been getting into crab fishing and flu fishing. It's especially fun to go out on the belly boat. The store has so much stuff in there that one can really spend a load of money. My sister doesn't seem to think it's a five star review after she went to the fly fishing department a few times and a guy named Zack was rude and seemed quit self entered according to her opinion but I've never met the guy so I'll base my review off of my own experience instead. Being that im new to the fly fishing scene, I met a guy in the fly fishing section named Trevor. Wow! Was he ever a wealth of knowledge. He was so kind and considerate and he spent so much time educating me on this sport. He was of kind of cute too. Very nice guy. Sure got me on his upwelling but I was happy to spend the money after he educated me on the products. I'll say 3 of the five stars are based on Trevors service alone. After close I saw the manager by the exit/entrance to the mall. It's 2 July and a holiday, so they're closing early, which is fine. Me and an east Indian family we're trying to exit, I was going to a cell phone repair (where my phone was) shop that was 150 feet away, the east Indian family was separated from the rest of their family that was just on the other side of the door. They would not open the door to let us through. Upon exiting the building on the opposite end the east Indian family didn't know where they were and asked one of the bass pro shop cart handlers and he said, I don't know I only work at this end of the building. I directed them to the entrance of the mall so that they could reunite with her family, and I walked with them and their baby the quarter mile to their family. While I am annoyed and upset that they simply wouldn't let me through, I am disgusted that they would not allow a family to reunite with their elderly family. read more
