From my check in time until the "you're up next" text.

Waited for more than an hour to get assistance in the gun/binocular area. Checked in on their waiting system queue and waited for more than an hour to get assistance to buy a pair of binos. It blows my mind I'd have to waste that much of my time to give a company my money. Needless to say, I didn't stay to give them my money and I won't be giving them my money. Hello Amazon, goodbye Bass Pro.

    Family tradition..shooting range

While on vacation saw their sign on the highway and decided to stretch my legs and check this location out. It was just as great as most of the others I have been too. The gun range (my fav) was fully operational, so I spent some time shooting with my family. The store had a huge waterfall that poured into a tank of local fish, and it was very picturesque and just like the whole store was very clean. Also, I loved the bathroom decor, which offered a tree line with a shadow effect and was also very tidy to use. The prices were the same as most locations, but since right after Christmas caught some great clearance items. Spent a few moments enjoying the beautiful fire in the fireplace we know and love in each location and had a nice photo op with the Holiday decor. Staff were very friendly. Glad we stopped in for a nice visit.

Bass Pro Shops are a pretty cool place to visit. The huge fish tanks, the animals, fishing/boating gear, guns, and clothing. MERICA!! What's not to like? This location had a restaurant at one time but is no longer open. Come to think about it, I have have been to this Bass Pro Shop about 10 times and have never bought a thing. The prices are always higher than what's online or locally at other businesses. Either way it's still good to "try things out" before you buy it. The bathrooms are always clean and the customer service is always helpful.

My first visit to a Bass Pro Shop. Wow. If they don't have it, somewhere in this super-sized store, you don't need it. They certainly had the firearm cleaner/solvent I was looking for, unlike several gun stores I had previously visited. Campers, boaters, hikers, outdoorsy folks, this is where it's at. I was also able to handle (and try not to salivate on) an absolutely gorgeous new Sig P320-M17 9mm pistol. It's good enough for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Border Patrol, CIA, and on and on, but banned by the current rancid crop of politicians in California. The firearms are all upstairs, and the staff is very willing to be of assistance. Oh my, an aquarium of world-class size is near the back of the store, complete with a waterfall. Benches are thoughtfully provided for the now-weary shopper. What a great place to relax. There are two floors, just jam-packed with merchandise of almost every category. Be advised, it's not a discount store. Bring money, folks, and plan on spending at least half a day in here. I sure did.

We love BassPro..there is so much here for the sportsperson..I esp like their clothes and home decor.. you can certainly spend lots of time here as the store is huge and the decorations are awesome.. they are renovating the dining area which we liked going to as well so cant wait to see the new menu and how they decorate it..they are out of lots of items as are most stores nowadays..but still a fun interesting place to go ..

I find Bass Pro shops carry a variety of products in a large open space. This particular location has a large but odd parking area.

I went into the Pace location on Saturday, April 26th around 3pm in search of new walking shoes…read more There was a young girl working near the shoes, at a folding table. I asked her where the women's socks were located and she said that all socks were shirts by brand and not gender, then proceeded to tell me they were behind one of the walls. She never directed me to the socks, just that they were behind one of the walls. Ok, I found the socks then went back to look at shoes. I looked at shoes for about 15 minutes and looked for someone to help me get the correct size. No one bothered to come ask if I needed any help. The before mentioned employee was standing right by the shoes and could see that I needed assistance. I walked over to her and asked if there was someone who could help me. Her response was a huge sigh as if I was bothering her. At this point I was aggravated and said, "Nevermind, I'll go somewhere else to buy shoes where I can get some help!" She responded with, "no need for disrespect." I did not continue any back and forth with her, as I continued to walk towards the front door to leave. As my husband walked past her yo leave, she decided that she needed to continue with him and told him, "You need to get your wife!" He did but engage with this young girl and continued to follow me out of the store. I hope this is not how you train your employees to handle customer service. I know I was not pleasant, however, I did not continue any conversation with this girl and there was no need for her to continue with my husband. I will not be recommending Dick's in Pace to any of my sports moms/friends.

What really stood out was how much they seemed to genuinely care about helping customers. I must have been asked at least five different times if I needed help finding anything or had any questions. That level of customer service is hard to find these days. Great shop, great people, and definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area.

I've been here at J&M Tackle on Canal Road a number of times over the years, but I got to be honest…read moreit's not normally my first stop. My neighborhood bait shop usually has what I need for most my fishing trips, and J&M is a 20-minute drive in the opposite direction from where I normally fish on the Gulf or Bob Secour River. Still, when my local place comes up short or I need something specific, J&M is where I go. The place is a big resource for us anglers with a massive selection of gear, from live bait and frozen shrimp to rods, reels, lures, and fishing clothes. They even have stuff like pier nets and sandals, which I've actually picked up before. The staff indeed know their stuff and is always ready to help. One time, I was looking for a better setup for surf fishing, and a guy there walked me through some options for pompano rigs. He didn't push me toward the expensive stuff, just pointed out what would work for the kind of fishing I do. I ended up with a couple jigs and a new line that did the job. I've also had them fix a couple of rods for me. Last spring, my go-to rod got banged up pretty bad and the tip was shot, and I that it might be done for. I took it to J&M's rod shop, in the back, where they build custom rods. The person I talked to asked about how I used it and what happened, then said they could repair it. About a week later, I got it back, and it was good as new with a rebuilt tip. The repair cost was a little more than I hoped, but it saved a rod I didn't want to replace, and it wasn't that crazy. I wouldn't say J&M blows me away, like Bass Pro Shop, but It's absolutely a solid tackle shop with a lot to offer, and the biggest around. The staff is friendly and quick to answer questions, whether I'm asking about what's biting or how to tweak my gams for redfish, trigger, flounder, etc. The place is organized, and I like that they carry brands I know plus some new ones I've tried out. I've been to other shops around, and J&M has more options than the rest, period. Beyond fishing gear, some of the fishing clothes, like the fancy shirts, can be a bit overpriced. But for tackle and gear, the prices are fair, and I've never left empty-handed. In addition they have gas, diesel and non-lead fuels for your boats!! Bottomline: J&M Tackle is a reliable spot when I need more than my local shop can offer. If you're in Orange Beach and serious about fishing, it's worth a visit for the gear and the know-how. Recommended!

While the store is well stocked with helpful and professional folks it's just a personal decision that I choose not to patronize the Dick's stores due to, in my opinion, bad corporate decision making. Again, a personal belief that public companies should maintain political neutrality and avoid the adoption of woke policies, and focus instead on their primary objective of providing valuable products and services to customers. It appears that I'm far from the only one who feels this way but it shouldn't come as a surprise because at company adopting controversial and divisive policies should know that they likely run the risk of alienating a significant portion of their customer base. It's probably the case since Dick's continues to drop in profitability due to the nature of policies the company either directly or indirectly supported. Don't get me wrong, free speech is vital regardless, and free trade and business should always be protected. I'm just personally ticked at any company, regardless of politics or beliefs, who feel it necessary to implement, in my opinion, stupid policies on their customers and employees. Common sense dictates that maintaining political neutrality best allows companies to focus on serving all customers, regardless of their personal beliefs, and ensures that they do not lose business due to divisive politics. Bottom line: If companies are truly committed to addressing social issues, they should focus on substantive actions, such as improving working conditions, investing in education and training programs, or contributing to local community initiatives.

They don't carry many of the same brands, or as many options of them, in store. Their selection for The North Face, Patagonia, etc. is minimal. However, every time I come to this location, staff are friendly and the store is clean. If I happen to need assistance, someone is willing to help. Thankfully they carry a nice selection of workout apparel, including Nike, Under Armour, CALIA, and their very own DSG brand. They also have a nice variety of sport-specific gear-- baseball, football, basketball, soccer, etc. They offer leisure and/or sport equipment, such as for cycling, hiking, indoor exercise/training, fishing, hunting, etc. Their shoe department is sufficient, but it isn't extensive. They offer the major shoe brands for running, walking, training, and lifestyle use, but you're not going to find A TON of styles for each; it isn't a SHOE store with that kind of inventory. But it's nice to see what you can get in-store, or if the store can order something for you from their website (dickssportinggoods.com). I love HIIT workouts at OTF and I enjoy sports and being outdoors, so this store is my little slice of heaven for meeting all my sport-related needs!
