The best locally owned bait shop around! Employees know the answers! Watched them fix a reel, instruct the small child on how to use it correctly.... This small shop has everything from live bait to sunglasses. Anything you could need for a day or month on the water. They package their own frozen bait as well. Bait shrimp is better than the shrimp you can buy at the store! The only thing you can not find here is fishing license... but they have the phone number handy and the website. Open early and 7 days a week.

We always stop in for bait & tackle at Hooked Up. Staff is knowledgeable on local "hits" and accommodating with what is necessary to have a "good day fishing". They open at 6a and if you are planning on fishing with shrimp, I highly recommend you arrive early, before their allotment is sold out. If you happen to be someone who can not get out of bed that early, they do have plenty of other live bait choices available.

They had shrimp where other bait places did not or said they could only give us 1-2 dozen. Plus they are cheaper. Friendly too.

I have uploaded my screenshots as proof! DO NOT GO TO THIS CHARTER! THEY ARE RACIST, THREATENING,…read moreAND SCAMMERS! I am here in gulf shores from Detroit. I saw this charter advertised as $350 for THREE hours online. I booked it and put a $120 deposit down. I originally booked it for 2 PM on the day we were supposed to go. I got a call the day before from the man's wife asking me to come at 10 AM instead of 2 pm. Sure no problem. I set up the appointment with her for 10 am the next morning with captain Jerry! They sent me multiple emails and text messages confirming. The day of the charter comes and my husband and two sons arrive and Captain Jerry got bit by a Catfish on the foot as they got there. My husband even saw the foot because the Captain showed him. He had to be rushed to the emergency room, so another guy took my family out on the charter. My husband didn't inform me until later, but the boat kept turning off and stalling on the water as previous reviews had said. But to be honest, I was just excited about the experience for my husband and my kids to saltwater fish. I also did my research and found that this was one of the cheapest charters hence why I booked it. Multiple other charters in the area offer FOUR hours for $450. So long story short the day of the charter comes my husband and two kids go out fishing and bring back fish and start cleaning them at the marina. I gave my husband the remainder part of the balance (350-120 deposit = $230) and the tip. I sent my husband with $300 and told him to give it to them when it was done because they constantly reminded you in their text and emails that gratuity was accepted, and I am always a tipper. So after they clean the fish, my husband hands the fill in Captain $300 and tells him this is the remainder of the balance and a $70 tip for you. The Captain was more than grateful and expressed his gratitude. My husband and my sons come home back to our resort in Gulf Shores. As I'm driving to New Orleans 24 HOURS LATER the next day, I get a text from the man's wife saying we didn't pay our bill in full. She texts me my first "invoice" which shows nothing about my $120 deposit. After a bunch of explaining back-and-forth about the deposit and the confusion, the wife starts calling me a scammer and telling me I didn't pay my bill. She also was texting me saying that the Captain wasn't even there that day and that he had gotten hurt as if I should feel bad and and she sent me a picture of his injury. I then told her she has a straight up liar because my husband specifically saw the foot and talked to the Captain before he went to the hospital. Not even two seconds later, I get a text from her husband on another number and he starts threatening me and calling me racist names because we are from Detroit. I have included those screenshots in the photos! After he threatens me, calls me racist names, and threatens to sue me and tells me he doesn't care about what reviews I post, his wife then texts me a message apologizing for what her husband had said and denies being racist lol. I am posting this review because I want everybody to know that these people are racist, unprofessional, threatening, and scammers. I always tip my services and I never would book Something without being able to afford it. I promise you if this woman had texted me yesterday after the charter ended any time between 1 PM and midnight I would have made her whole because my conscience would have been bothered about it but after being texted 24 hours later trying to come up on $50, I am just appalled at this place and how they made me feel. But it literally only took three text messages for his true racist colors to show. I guess the bad reviews were true. Not to mention, it is very bad business to try to text somebody 24 hours later after you let them leave a charter after you clean their fish and after you accepted their money. Not to mention that they are trying to now say this is a $470 charter for three hours. Seriously people go spend the 450 and get an extra hour without unprofessional drunk scamming people. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS RACIST SCAMMING BUSINESS. I also will be posting this review and my proof of His racist comments on Facebook reviews as well. BEWARE!
