Very poor customer service. Does not ever reply to emails with questions or issues. I've taken my business and hard earned money elsewhere.

Needed new fireplace as old one that came with house had a gas leak. Purchase new one from Bassemiers was installed in July, which took longer than first told. Have been using new fireplace(gas) for a few weeks now. Last night made a horrific sound, turned it on/off a few times same sound. Called this morning no one can come til Dec 9, 2025. We've had it 3months and they cant bother to get someone out any sooner, worried about the cold this weekend! We use it for a major source of heat to cut our center point electric bill. I'm so disappointed and angered over the amount of money and trust we put into bassemiers! read more

In 2018 purchased a wood burner to heat my house over the years had some issues with water getting in around the inside pipe that goes down on top the stove only when it rained really hard it seemed the tech's that came out addressed it several times but still had issues stopping the leak and in the mean time the wood burner developed rust issues inside and out of the wood burner, Bassemiers sent over 4 tech's to finally see if they could put this issue to bed in July 2025, first they removed the unit and took it away and sand blasted and repainted and relaced all new gut's and brick in the unit to like brand new condition, then came back out did a inspection to make sure there was no other water damage in the ceiling, it was bone dry, water must been coming down the seams of the outside pipe and the tech explained things that you could understand and went above and beyond to seal them really good even where it really should not have needed to be but just in case did it anyway, they then reinstalled and they did this just to satisfy me as a customer because they really cared about fixing the problem and keeping my home safe, they did this in 100 degree temp's on a hot roof as well, I have nothing but good things to say about this company and the people who work there they are very professional, this was my 2nd purchase of a wood burner stove with them the first house I owned for 30 years had one put in and had no issues, when we decided to move into our 2nd home I knew they were the ones to call to get the wood burner from, even though we have had a few hiccups with the rain water they were there to help and try and fix the issue until it just got worse they took the time and came and did all this at no charge, I am not rich don't have a lot of money and use the wood burner to heat my house to save on gas bills, if you are thinking of getting something like a wood burner you really need to visit them and see what they can do for you, I think they are the best around Evansville and the tristate and I have them come out once a year also to clean the pipe and inspect just to make sure all is good, again their service people are the best and are hard working just like you and me they know money doesn't grow on trees. read more

This is the second item purchased from Bassemier's and both were not as promised. They charge a premium for everything and promise warranty on new items to get the sale, but when you have an issue, they have ZERO customer service offered. Buyer beware --- they are not good to you after they make the sale. I had a $3,000 umbrella that broke in 48 hours (no, I did not have it up in a storm) after promising it would never tip over unless there was a tornado. I slight gust came by and it immediately went down and broke; it was not even storming. I had to battle to get it returned. They insisted we send photos (we did) then proceeded to ask questions about how we were not using it correctly thus causing the damage. It was down and tied to the base as instructed when not in use. Then we had to haul it in for them to look at. So, my husband had to dismantle the entire thing, remove the sand from each bag we had to fill, load it all in our trailer, haul it there at our expense, only to be told they'd have to come and get it after looking at it. So, we hauled it back home, and waited for them to schedule to pick it up. They insisted on giving us a store credit and I had to place SEVERAL calls to get them to refund my money in the form of a check, just as I had paid. Against our better judgement, we purchased a 42" round Paso Robles outdoor gas fire table and have had it 11 months. When we went to light it 2 weeks ago it would not stay lit, so I called them as it's under warranty. The unit has a cover that is always on, and it's in a shelter, so not exposed to any elements. Again, we were asked stupid questions like does it have gas, have you used it before, are you following instructions....etc. Yes, to all the above. Since it's under warranty they said they'd need to see it to assist with any support. Well, it weights a lot, so that was not happening. They said they could send a tech out, so we agreed to wait several days for that to happen. They tech was very nice, but when done, he provided me a bill for $162 for labor and mileage!! This was never once mentioned to me! I called the office and Anna basically told me to go pound sand, even though she said Patrick should have told me that the "warranty" does not include labor. I would advise not to purchase anything from these people as they are very rude and insulting after the sale. read more

I have been dealing with Bassmeiers for about 15 years and I have bought everything from a Jacuzzi, fireplaces, awnings, patio furniture, Grills and more. Never had a single issue and all of the service I have received has been A1. Are they a little higher at times, yes, but it's worth the extra for the great service and quality of items received. John and Jeff run a reputable business and I will buy from them until that changes and I don't see that happening. Good people, good employees and a good reputable business ! read more

My Aunt and I went to this place to find the Green Egg for my Father for Christmas. Of course we did some research online before I went so i knew what I was getting myself into. Their mark up is waaaaaay too high. Anytime you purchase anything from them, be prepared to overpay by at least $100... probably more seeing as how they sell the stand that holds it for $122. Frankly, it's not even the insane markup that earned these people the coveted 1-Star-Rating, it's the fact that they marked the sign "SALE" and when we asked them what was the original price they told us that the marked price was the original, the "SALE" sign merely meant that it was the "Normal Sale Price"... Long story short, we went to Lowe's where a man named Charlie knew what he was talking about and helped us get exactly what we needed. Was it the egg? No, but it better met our needs. Buyer Beware--We have had nothing but negative experiences with Bassemiers since purchasing our $5000+ wood burning stove there in 2017. When we initially purchased the unit and hearth, they double charged our debit card for the initial deposit to the tune of thousands of dollars. When we hired them to sweep the chimney in 2019, Andrew, the chimney sweep, damaged our equipment, so the next time we used the stove the house filled with smoke. We had to move our family out of the house and check it for carbon monoxide before moving back in. Andrew came back and fixed it (this was a "courtesy call," but is it really courteous when a family has to move out of the house at their own expense? Not really...) After this we continually had issues with birds getting into the flue, so we called about this and Andrew came again to install a bird screen that should have been installed since the beginning. Ever since Andrew installed the bird screen, our chimney cap continues to come off and has to be constantly re-secured. Should a bird screen have been installed from the very beginning? Yes. It's a pretty obvious detail for a house that is surrounded by trees, and yes...birds. When I spoke with Anna at Bassemiers, she accused me of being rude because I am upset about the fact that they continue to send a technician to my house who has damaged items I have paid for. First, she even accused me of not having any account at Bassemiers, but she had spelled my name wrong even though I spelled it out for her from the beginning. She also seemed to think it is unreasonable that I don't want Andrew at my house again. Sorry, but after being on the roof in the dark last night trying to fix the damage HE caused, I don't want him here "fixing" things ever again. I also requested a credit for damages that were caused to my home, but this was also deemed unreasonable. I requested email confirmation for the 2019 charges to my account, but she thought that was unreasonable as well. She said, "Don't you have the original receipt?" Yes, Anna, I DO have my original receipt, but I also want electronic confirmation from the store. She still hasn't emailed it and I doubt she will. If I were Anna, I would be upset that my chimney sweet had damaged very expensive equipment at a customer's house on multiple occasions. If I were Anna's manager, I would be upset at what she calls "customer service." I also can't seem to get an actual manager on the phone. We are just very disappointed in a company that I remember providing good service even when I was a young kid. We went with Bassemiers because my parents had a fairly good experience with them long ago (with the exception of some pretty sloppy brickwork on their fireplace). I'm happy to update this review if Bassemiers makes this right, but based on Anna's response to my concerns earlier, I doubt that will happen. Another fun fact--Bassemiers isn't even accredited by the Better Business Bureau. No wonder Anna said, "You do that" when I mentioned I would leave a review there. read more

I have purchased gas logs from Bassemiers that are beautiful when the work. They are very life like HOWEVER every time they break it takes forever to get them fixed! It took me THREE WEEKS to get a service person to come to my house. I have made a mistake in my previous review, the service man was very kind and efficient when he came and he was able to fix my problem that day. What did I learn from this? I will call them in October to set my appointment for them to check my gas logs before the cold weather comes. That way I will have plenty of time for them to come and if there is an issue they can have it fixed before I need to use the fireplace. read more

I believe this store only caters to the super rich. The prices in there seems like from 30 years into the future. I looked at a gas outdoor firepit and 4 chairs that (honest to God) had a price of over $10,000 dollars. We found a wonderful outdoor gas firepit at Sam's Club for only $500 and it's very well made and has lasted for years. Also this store never seems to carry a part for your outdoor patio needs nor can help you find a part that could help you? The attitude is that if you didn't buy it from us then F-off. I had a great experience staff was knowledgeable and service was great. Bought a fireplace several years ago and it quit working last year. I waited till this winter to give them a call to come and fix it. They told me 2 weeks but I guess that's what I get for waiting. At any rate they came, called first and were on time. They did not make a mess and all my fireplace needed was cleaned. read more
