DO NOT USE UNIQUE GRANITE IN OWENSBORO, KY I purchased…read moregranite countertops through Lowe's in Henderson, KY, who contracts with Unique Granite for the materials and installation. Since installation in April, 2023, 6 months, I've been trying to get Unique Granite to correct the seam where two slabs are joined in my kitchen. The seam is uneven and has a gap that widens toward the front of the countertop. A "Satisfaction Guaranteed" document that states I should contact them if my experience is less than 100%. I took them at their word on this. After attempting to work directly with them for 2 months, I stopped by their office and asked to speak with the owner. A somewhat unfriendly man told me that I couldn't talk directly with Unique and I'd have to go through Lowe's if I wanted to communicate with them. When I asked for his card, he gave me a business card for a company called Always Outdoors Lawn and Power, with someone else's name crossed out and his name, just "Rick," scribbled across it. I've had an ongoing open Work Order with Lowe's since that time. It's critical to note here that when Unique has sent crews to my home, each time they've given me the same assessment. The particular style of stone I chose cannot be smoothed out with a GRINDER because there are metallic flecks in it that will be exposed and will ruin the surface. And, more recently, remarks have been along the order of, "That looks bad. We'll have to talk to the owner and get back to you." Of course they don't. The last person they sent out, 9/21, was their "BEST" man, who can fix anything. (Why now?) Lo and behold, he gets out of the car with a GRINDER. I asked him about the others who told me this granite cannot be ground or it would be ruined. His response was, "it would definitely change the look of it." We agreed that wasn't the best way to resolve the issue. Now, Unique Granite has lied. They've told Lowe's that I refused to let them resolve the problem. I know they can fix it. They just don't want to spend any money to make it right. Shame. Since the initial deposit, I haven't paid another dime to Unique Granite. I've stayed in touch with Lowe's and their Customer Service people. But I'm at the end of my rope.

Timelines were not followed, communication was subpar and he gave constant excuses as to why he…read morecouldn't show up. The real problems came after I paid for the service. There were two areas in my upstairs where he laid flooring that he had put a "patch" on the subfloor. Both areas started bubbling up about two weeks after installation. I called and told him and he said it was definitely not from the patching, even though those were the only two areas with issues. He then proceeded to blame me, saying I asked for the subfloor to not be fixed. What really happened is that he assured me that patching the subfloor would take care of the issues, and I trusted him as a professional. He then told me that if I wanted to have it fixed I would have to pay full labor. Also, I paid an extra $100 for him to patch/dap my baseboards on the first floor. He didn't finish the job after I paid and never returned my calls to finish the baseboards or attempt to work with me on correcting his shoddy workmanship.
