I saw an ad for this boat ride during my trip in Paris and decided to take a ride since it said the entire course would cover many popular historical buildings in the city. I waited in line for about 30 minutes after buying a ticket. The boat itself was a double decker with open air seating on the top, where I decided to sit. It gets a bit chilly up there with the wind. The boat ride was fantastic, it passed by many buildings, including the recently half burnt down notre dame up close. We also passed a very close route to get amazing shots and view of the eiffel tower as well. Overall, I was very satisfied with the boat trip. My only dislike was the increasing amount of tourists not sitting down at the top level and running around to take pictures while trying to shove through my seat. read more

Purchased some expensive tickets for Bastille Day but we sat at the dock until 9pm when we were all told to arrive at 8pm. While others sailed past as we were docked. I love a nighttime river cruise. While I've done this before, it's a Paris must for me. Prefer to do this at night but but depending on time of year, it might not work out. Thankfully I was able to grab the 9:30 and the sun was just going down so half the cruise was "daylight" and the other half it was dark. Mainly love the nighttime part because the Eiffel Tower looks better at night & of course it sparkles if you catch it at the right time. I think it cost like €15 or some thing really cheap and it's well worth it. I would 10/10 recommend you go at least once. We really had a nice time on this dinner cruise. The glass boat was beautiful. No issues getting finding the location or getting on to the boat. The cruise started on time at 8:30p and ended at around 11pm. Our food was great, wines were awesome, service was friend, views were mesmerizing. And the rains in the evening didn't dampen our plans in Paris for we were in the cruise. The live music added much to our dining experience. We booked through Orbitz. We decided to take this tour at the last minute. Although we'd been to Paris before, we had not taken one of the river tours. Also, this time we had two teenagers. I recommend doing the tour at the end of the day for a couple of reasons: 1) if you're tired like we were (and our kids were) them it's a nice break; and 2) if you take the 9:40pm tour, then by the time it ends, they are doing the Eiffel Tower light show which you can see really well from near the Pont de l'Alma. I've seen reviews where they say to be on the right side of the boat. I don't think that matters too much because you get to see the same attractions when the boat turns around with one notable exception: you really get a better view of Notre-Dame from the left side of the boat (which initially heads east before turning back west after Ile Saint-Louis). read more

Do not go here, especially with a large group. I came with a 60-person tour group yesterday. Our group was originally in line together however the security personnel did not keep others from passing and breaking up our group. Since our tour was prepaid, we needed to enter the turnstile all at the same time. As security tried to gather all the rest of my group to let them in, others got angry and started pushing us. It quickly became a trampling situation. We had elderly with us on our trip that got shoved with no help from employees to protect them. The entrance to the establishment and the entrance to board the boat needs to have some type of line barriers for crowd management. Our group also had prepaid for champagne and the staff handed it out to strangers instead. Poor management for groups all around, but I wouldn't even want to do this tour by myself either for fear of being trampled. read more

4.5 Stars!!! I learned about this boat tour through one of my travel guides. For merely 10 euros, you get to hop aboard a guided tour boat that lead you through a 70 min tour of both the right & left banks of the Seine. They even had translation in different languages including English, Japanese, Chinese, & French! It was a great experience as you got a different view of the city from the river. Rest assured, it moved very slowly, and it was large enough that you didn't feel too cramped. You had the opportunity to see everything from your seat, and you're free to walk around the boat as well. You don't even have to worry about getting seasick on the thing. The tour ended with a view of the eiffel tower, which was an amazing site to see from the river. It was a great experience overall, and a pretty good deal i must say. I was even able to get a souvenir pix for just 5 more euros. Now you can't get a better deal than that...even in the US! read more

An hour and fifteen minute day time cruise, in a past life, on the Seine River in the "City of Light" is refreshing yet romantic. This is a great place to book a cruise on the Seine River! I have to say we arrived almost an hour early for a lunch cruise on New Year's Day. It was close to 38 degrees outside and even though there was a heated entrance, they made us stand outside in the cold instead of allowing us to stand inside. We weren't dressed for an outside event, so we froze our buts off and that's something I will NEVER forget! But the stars are for the actual cruise. There was a live accordion player who wore a permanent grin the entire time! He is an excellent performer! There was plenty of alcohol and the food was very good (minus the cold poached egg on top of my salad which I personally didn't care for)! The fish was seasoned well, but the cherry brandy chocolate dessert had too much brandy in it for my liking. The bread was delicious! There was a cheese tray that was divine! We were so full at the end, it was the perfect time to go back to our apartment and take a nap for the rest of this leisurely day in Paris where the whole city sleeps because Jan. 1 is their "FREE DAY!" Most of the tables are near windows. You get a reflection in the glass that interferes with your picture taking and there wasn't a place to go above deck to free you of the glass. But, it would have been too cold and windy to go out anyway! It had rained, the river was too high, so we didn't get to go past Notre Dame. The boat won't fit under tunnels when the river is high. It was so nice to see everything and not have to walk miles! I would highly recommend this place, even if they didn't treat us very nicely when we arrived! Our waiter was super nice. The summer heat made the experience quite uncomfortable, the late sunset meant it was as bright as it was in the daytime, and the way we were herded like cattle felt quite charmless. Definitely a must for when you're in Paris. At €13.50 per adult, I recommend going for one of the guaranteed rides (where there is no need to wait for a 50 person minimum, according to their website) at 5.30PM or 8.30PM. Paris at night, is gorgeous. And though I'm sure you'll probably hit all the sites you'll see from this cruise on foot, seeing them lit up at night, unobstructed by other neighboring buildings, is magical. I would however suggest you do it on a clear night cause a light drizzle coupled with the wind will have you frozen in 20 minutes. I speak from experience. The one thing I didn't quite care for was the narration for the various sites you pass. It was done in too many languages and although it goes on throughout the 1 hour cruise, you only get a 10 word sentence of each site since they need to run through all the different languages before reaching the next attraction. read more

It was my family's firts trip to Paris and I thought that taking the vaunted Bateau Mouches would be an exelent way to see the sights and fit in dinner. After all, they've been doing this forever! Let's start with the menu: You are offered three choices of starter, entree, and dessert as well as wine, which is fine, but limiting. The portions (which I don't usually worry about) were pretty meager, though. Our waitress was extreamly brusk and rude even though we could speak some French and went so far as to ignore us activly and drop food off the plates while serving. Pretty abominable. Then there was the "kid's option." Dear Lord. My children are aged 10 and 12 and aren't big on heavy sauces and so opted for the children's meal which was listed as "chicken fingers." What they got was one grape tomoato sliced in half, a pinch of iceberg lettuce, a puddle of katsup and THREE PRE-FROZEN CHICKEN NUGGETS. Seriously. Look at the accompanying picture. This cost €35 a plate. It was McDonalds fare for $40. We complained. My wife wanted off the boat. We were polite but outraged because we feel that we had been tricked. Another waiter stepped in since the man running yhe floor couldn't speak english and our French is shakey and tried to help. He offered the children real meals, free of charge, some new drinks and an adult dessert, (which were pretty mediocre lava cakes which I susspect are pre packaged). He tried and we appreciate that, but still SHAME ON BATEAUX MOUCHES for trying this! The cruise itself was loud from yhe engine noise and made conversation difficult. The boat traveled at a very fast pace so thinhs sort of flew by and made the dinner feel rushed and high pressured. The only nice thing I can say about the experience is they serve great foie gras. Everything else is a disaster. We arrived at 7:30, which the company recommended for our free glass of pre-dinner champagne. The moment we arrive, they told us they were tapped out. They tried to sit us in a corner with a rail in the way, but we got a better seat by force. The menu is very limited, but they look like they have the staples. The foie gras was a great appetizer. The bread was terrible. The Bordeaux they offered us was not good. It took us an HOUR to receive our meal from the appetizer. I don't care whats going on, this is unacceptable. Other people received our meals way before us. Once we received our veal, it was overcooked, so there was no flavor. The fig cake I ordered for dessert was terrible it tasted like a hard fruitcake with prunes on top! The scenery was hokey. They make it so romantic, but it really wasn't. Most of the boat ride involves passing other boats and seeing people hanging by the bridge. The musicians on the boat played elevator music every time we passed by a major monument. When the guests arrived (mind you the guests traveled from another country in an attempt to enjoy a wonderful dinner cruise experience) the associates not only lied about seeing the reservation made, but they also lied about receiving payments made months ago after being shown actual receipts of the payments made. To add insult to injury the customer service associates on duty (4 women) called security (2 men) who did not hear the details of the story to come and try to intimidate the guests. I didn't want to do it or more like I didn't care for it. Both me and my mother headed to the top of the boat for the best views. People were polite - no shoving, at least not from what I could see. We went in the afternoon, it rained a bit. There is an audio guide everybody will hear. It comes in five different languages (French, English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Chinese). Where can i start, customer service none existent, overpriced experience would be an understatement, attitude galore from my server and not short staffed on a allege luxury dinner boat. If it was up to me, i give them nk stars. Clearly, they dont ubderstand service, we were assigned a table 20 minutes after the initial check in. However, if i am paying $200 a person for a 3 course dinner, it is essential to have an attentive server. My server ran out of champagne after the first glass, but wait did i mention on my menu it says i get 1 bottle and instead, i have to wait 20 minutes to find her and get luke warm champaigne? If i had the champaigne on my i would not have to be looking for my server. So, it seems like water was an issue as well, we ran out of water, waited over 45 minutes before bread was offered to our table. The number of settings on the table was incomplete, since the other server who was designated to clear the table, was just taking utensils off the table even when they were clean. Finally i get a hold of my server, and i mention to her all my concerns, her immediate response was far from being apologetic. She went off on telling me that she is busy, and at some point she is trying to play it off as if she is does not understand English, which was not the case, because she was speaking English to the rest of the other tables. What can i say, i did not let the bad service or the plain food get in the way of enjoying my sight seeing down the sienne river. There were plenty of photo opportunities, the boat has an upper deck and you are free to go up anytime you want. In the end sometime about 1045pm, we pulled up back to the port and the fire works started at 11pm, it was an spectacle not to be missed. I will be honest, i could have been on the least expensive boat ride tour which i believe was somewhat like under 20 euro with a baguette in hand and water and i could have still watch the fire works on a boat. I did this dinner cruise years ago for my anniversary while visiting Paris and everything was great. We decided to bring our daughter for her sweet 16 to Paris and since we only remembered great things from the previous cruise we decided to have dinner on her birthday. The boat was in nice shape, clean windows, and of course live music and the scenery was great. But the food and service was really bad. I had to ask 3-5 times to get anything. At one point I felt getting up and getting the water myself. But it wasn't only the water. I felt like we were invisible. I would rate the food at C. We ended up going somewhere else to eat. We took a lunch cruise on the Seine in 2006 with Bateaux Parisiens and absolutely loved it. This trip we decided to try an early dinner cruise with Bateaux Mouches. We should have stuck with Bateaux Parisiens! To begin with, the all glass boat was incredibly hot. Both our shirts were sticking to us before we got off. There didn't seem to be any air conditioning at all in the bright afternoon sun. The meal was okay, no complaints but nothing to brag about either. Also of note (compared with Bateaux Parisiens) there was absolutely no commentary at all and no entertainment other than recorded music, even though they had a full stage near our table. The short trip lasted just 75 minutes. It was definitely not worth the €150 we paid. read more
