She was so helpful in explaining the process, recommending scents to try, and being patient while I smelled literally every fragrance in the place at least twice over. The whole studio is SO cute with their decor, and since it was my birthday (and we were the only ones in the studio--it was a Thursday afternoon), Alex allowed me to pick the music we got to jam out to. The candle making process is truly hands-on at Candle Land, so whatever you make is 100% on you! However Alex was super informative with letting us know which fragrances had mixed reviews from other patrons, and even went so far as to offer a redo if we used a certain fragrance and didn't like it once we mixed it with another. It was so fun mixing the fragrances and finding that perfect balance between the two that I picked! We also got to pick out "toppings" for our candles like different dried flower petals, glitter, and I got a special confetti since it was my birthday that I chose to incorporate throughout my candle. The whole process took just about an hour, and that was with me deliberating over fragrances for a majority of the time. You're able to hang around the area and pick up the candles once they fully set in 45 minutes, or return another day if you can't stay. I love that Candle Land advertises the vessels as refillable, and even offers a discount to return and create a new candle once yours is burned through! It's basically a gift that keeps giving :) Even if you don't return to Candle Land, the vessels are super cute and can be repurposed for a ton of other things. Overall, I definitely recommend visiting Candle Land if you like candles and crafting. It's a fun, easy outing that anyone can participate in!

The are several little shops in this area of the building including Beach Paradise, a women's clothing store and a gift shop, Just Hearts. Salutations of Delray was started by Diana Bush in 2004 as a result of searching for invitations to purchase for her daughters upcoming wedding. They specialize in custom wedding invitations and announcements along with custom stationary and greeting cards. Other things they carry included linen towels with funny phrases, Pampa Bay tableware, Nora Fleming stoneware, Thymes Frasier Fir candles and diffusers, items that can be personalized, children's gifts. and party supplies. The store motto is "Everyday is an occasion...celebrate in style!" Writing a letter and personalized stationary seems to be a kind of lost art in the email world of today and I love that you can rediscover that here. It operated out of the Norfolk, Nebraska bookstore the brothers worked at. In 1910, Joyce "J.C." Hall dropped out of high school and ventured to Kansas City, Mo. to sell wholesale postcards. In Kansas City, Hall could take advantage of the city's many rail connections to make quick sales trips to outlying towns. Soon business was booming and Rollie came to join his brother and they opened their own shop, Hall Brothers. In 1915, a fire destroyed the brothers shop and all of its inventory but they were able to take this set back and turn it into a success. The brothers took out a loan, bought an engraving company, and started creating unique designs they could market exclusively. As the postcard business waned they were poised to move into the new business of selling printed greeting cards for holidays. Another opportunity came for Hallmark when the company ran out of the traditional tissue paper that was used for wrapping gifts. Instead they started using French paper that had been purchased for lining envelopes. Demand for the paper was so great that Hallmark began printing their own paper and that is how wrapping paper was invented. The name Hallmark first appeared in 1925. It was chosen because it encompassed the family name while also stating quality. By 1928 it was on every card the Hall brothers' company sold and in 1954, Hall Brothers Inc. changed its name to Hallmark. Over 100 years later, the Hallmark company is still a private company, still in Kansas City, and still run by the Hall family. J.C. Hall's son Donald J. Hall is chairman of the Hallmark board and his son Donald Jr. is president and CEO of the company. There are both company and independently owned stores in five countries. Other fun facts: since 1984 Hallmark has owned Binney and Smith Inc the parent company of Crayola Crayons and they have produced more than 250 movies and taken home 81 Emmy's. As you might be able to tell I am a big Hallmark fan. Unfortunately many in the area have closed in recent years. That is why I was so happy to discover that there is still a Hallmark open in the Boynton Beach Mall even though the rest of the mall appears to be dying. I am addicted to the Hallmark ornaments. Hallmark first introduced their ornaments in 1973 and their longest running series is Frosty and Friends which started in 1980. My first introduction to collecting was the 1984 pink Victorian that kicked off the Nostalgic Houses series and I have since gone on to collect many other series. I was so happy to be able to pick up this years Dream Book featuring all of the ornaments. I was less happy to see the newly included insert with the new higher prices because of the tariffs. I guess I will be taking home fewer ornaments this year. In addition to setting up the holiday ornaments they have their large selection of greeting cards, gift wrap, toys, figurines, home goods, jewelry, accessories, and gifts. I really liked the Florida section. It is always easy yo find a thoughtful gift at Hallmark. Although I seldom buy greeting card anymore, if I do it will always be at Hallmark.

He proceeds to give me two random bottles saying I'll like them? I tell him I avoiding anything with citrus and don't like anything vanilla. One bottle has vanilla in the name. I smell them and don't like them. He tells me they are not citrus and not vanilla. He wants to prove me wrong by giving me a catalog that list "citron" in both and vanilla in the one with vanilla in the name. I show him my hands that are now heeling from previous exposure to citrus. At this point he says, "you have allergies I can't help you."

Go somewhere else unless you want to look up each perfume they try to sell you.
