The sales person suggested that we check on the items in their Delray store. We'd been to the Boynton store a few times & had bought a teak bench. The Delray store selection is somewhat different. They have a large side yard with an enormous (for the size of the store) collection of pottery planters, decorative objects and more. Inside the small air conditioned space is an eclectic mix of decorative objects from around the world. Although my taste tends to run to modern pieces, I found myself drawn to a small table that is not like anything else we own. We bought this little table that looks as if it would come alive, if only in a Disney animated movie!

I stopped by over Memorial Day weekend and was a little surprised there weren't more sales or promotions going on. Still, the store is cute, well merchandised, and worth browsing if you're looking for easy resort-style fashion.

The colors are gorgeous, it's made of the most delicious fabric, and the woman who works there was tuned into me don't ask me how. I feel like i will wear this dress a lot and i don't wear a lot of dresses so the price was worth it. The next day i wore the dress to dinner and the women i was dining with wanted to try the dress on because they loved mine so much so we went back into periwinkle. And lo and behold we met the owner of the dress company who was doing a trunk show for several days; the owner of warren and wade? Anyway i will always have fond memories of this store and this story everytime i wear the dress.

What a cool place, with not only an outdoor lot full of planters, pots, and statuettes of all sizes, colors and shapes, but also a store that goes on room after room displaying amazingly cool items, like furniture, plates, wood carvings, etc etc. There are so many items everywhere, it's easy to miss even the coolest stuff, so look around closely! Exotic's offerings span the globe, from the Americas to Africa and the middle east (I noticed a few pieces from Ukraine). Staff is friendly and helpful. Again, like other places along N. Federal Highway in Delray, it's easy to miss and you don't appreciate it from the street. I only went because a friend recommended it.

There's one small area with an alcove, then you walk outside and up a ramp into a much larger room with a bathroom (not working) that's even decorated with items. All the items are identified and tagged. They are displayed beautifully with spaces between so you can easily see each one. This place has so many intriguing and interesting things that it will definitely require another visit. Each time we looked at a different corner, we noticed something we'd missed the first time. There's lots of bric a brac, household decorations, art work, and China. There are valuable antique items mixed in, too. We stopped by enroute to lunch, so we didn't spend as long as we'd have liked to do so. But I did find one small item cute enough to take home with me. The gal working there was oh so pleasant and personable, too. This is the kind of place you need to visit often.
