Upon the initial meeting, Ken Gillis explained that he & his "team" would do a complete demo & roof replacement. I returned from a work break 9 am to my house & Ken was sound asleep in his truck while a random sub contractor was doing all the work on the roof. Ken was not involved in any of the demo or replacement nor was he actively supervising the job. The sub contractors DID NOT tarp the areas properly around the house during the DEMO so there was asphalt shingles all over the edges of the side of the house. Neither they nor KEN GILLIS cleaned up the area upon completion which I found sloppy & unprofessional. I recently contacted KEN GILLIS bc there was a slow leak from where "HIS TEAM" did not properly SEAL the area around the roof bathroom venting. There's now a hole where the water has dripped through the asphalt, plywood & now the drywall in my bathroom. I contacted him immediately to come over to SEAL THE roof venting, replace the plywood, asphalt shingles & the drywall. He immediately BECAME DEFENSIVE, STARTED ARGUING with me, DENYING ANY responsibility & REFUSED to come over & even look at the roof & REPAIR THE LEAK. The roof has NOT been touched since "HIS TEAM" replaced the roof. KEN GILLIS DOES NOT STAND BEHIND HIS WORK. HE WAS COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL,, HOSTILE & ARGUMENTATIVE when I spoke to him about this matter. He then told me to contact his LAWYER. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIM OR HIS GENERAL CONTRACTING SERVICES AT ALL. I have made a FORMAL COMPLAINT with the BBB & the ATTORNEY GENERAL about this matter. BUYER BEWARE!

The patio and retaining wall look great. The project took longer than expected, but those delays were all on our side. We took longer than we should have to make various decisions about light fixtures, etc. We also changed the scope of the project a few times, adding more areas of walkways that we decided needed to be refinished with the stamped concrete. Not only was Joe's priced reasonably he was the quickest to respond and gave me options and even found out who had the window I chose. He gave me the option of buying the window myself ( could use my military discount) . Window was installed within days of being quoted. I believe it took longer to locate the window than it did for Joe to have it installed. So all said and done he removed my old 15000 btu thru the wall AC , put in my new window , trimmed it all out, offered to repair a pice of broken siding and took the old AC and disposed of for a fraction of what everyone else was quoting me.
