Always available by email and phone, the team was quick to answer our questions, checked in with us frequently, and taught us to administer medications at home, even though it took a few visits for us to master the techniques. Now that we have left Kingston, we are struggling to find a new vet as competent and compassionate as Dr. Edwards. The team at Barriefield sets a very high bar.

I was told by reception that there was something showing in the urine test results and Dr. Jafari would call me on Monday. That meant three days at least that my cat was still unable to urinate. I hung up and called another clinic who have agreed to see me and my cat on Saturday since the inability to urinate is an emergency. Do not ever go to Kingston Veterinary Clinic.

May 2023, our dog was making strange breathing noises. We paid the Kingston Veterinary Clinic hundreds of dollars for diagnoses. The Kingston Veterinary Clinic told us that our dog's breathing was normal. May 2023, a week later we take our dog to Ohio. The American clinic told us that our dog has a tumor in her abdomen and that she has abnormal breathing due to the Laryngeal Paralysis disease. We return to Canada. Dr. Llera pushes Librela on us. We phone our American vet: the Laryngeal Paralysis disease causes hind leg weakness, the Librela will do nothing to improve our dog's mobility. Conclusion: the Kingston Veterinary Clinic is bad.

Fortunately, we discovered Groomintales and better yet, were able to get in quickly. When we arrived, the owner and her assistant were finishing up a nail clipping on a cute little pug who clearly did not have nail clipping anywhere on his list of fun things to do! We were immediately impressed with how carefully and skillfully both ladies worked to keep the pup at ease and to finish up the task. When it came time for our George Harrison, we described what we were looking for and then left our scruffy Velcro Dog, as we often refer to him - everything sticks to him - to complete our errands. When we returned hours later, we were dazzled by the sight of our new dog! Gone were the long, unkempt tangles and curls and in its place was a perfectly groomed handsome Doodle. We had left a couple of specific trimming instructions which were followed to a "T". We couldn't have been more pleased.
