The population is under 2000 residents but in the winter and summer months, it is considerably more, especially on weekends. Loon Mt. has the most vertical in the state and offers about 65 trails for skiing.

The color was really soothing to the eyes and varied with red, orange, and yellow mixed in with a little green for good contrast. There is a gazebo with some seating and some rock walls to sit on. There is also a nice viewing gazebo that makes for pretty photo ops. We took many photos here. There is a paved parking lot and easily available.

I wandered into the toy and book shop and was greeted by a sweet doodle breed who is their mascot. S/he was so cute if it stood still you would think it was a stuffed. Noticed some dog bowls on the sidewalk and a new K9 store opened recently. Way to go Littleton!!​ The flowers hanging along the street and people playing pianos are a wonderful touch. We visited Littleton, NH (about an hour from our house) and -- though the city seems great and…read morethere being a bunch of spots we'd have loved to explode (including Schilling Brewing) -- we couldn't stay as our very well behaved Great Dane wasn't welcome anywhere. It's fine as you all can have whatever rules you would like. But unlike other spots in the state -- where outdoor places for coffee or beer tasting welcome our pooch -- we weren't successful in Littleton. The painted paws on the sidewalk (suggesting dog friendliness) seemed to us to be out of place. All said: #OskarTheGreatDane still gives it three stars with hopes of visiting again when conditions are different.

It should've been easy just off Highway 93 (Exit 34B)... this rock formation on the top of Cannon Mountain was supposed to resemble a human's face above Profile Lake but is no longer there. If collapsed on May 2003 due to natural forces.. I did search for old photos of it from the internet... hmm, interesting! and, yes, that's the fabled stone face! The museum was closed at the time but I followed a nice paved trail, a scenic pathway to Profile Lake and The Old Man of the Mountain Profiler Plaza. There at the end of the trail were a series of seven large steel rods which pointed towards the cliff where the Old Man once was... hmm, okaaaay, Instructions were posted near the rods. This monument allows a new and unique experience in viewing the Old Man of the Mountain. Here is the interactive instructions: FIND the granite stone engraved with the number closest to your height (3-7 feet) STAND on the engraved footprints on that stone SIGHT ALONG the profiler rod in front of you with one eye closed, and align the bumps on the side of the rod THE PROFILE WILL COME INTO VIEW just as it once was, high on the cliff There are a bunch of interesting reads on the plaza. If your vehicle is taller, wider, or heavier than the signs allow, bring your personal flotation device because you might go swimming. Also please make sure your insurance is paid up. Repairing covered bridges damaged by over sized vehicles is very expensive. So if you don't have a passenger vehicle, STAY OFF THE BRIDGE!

The view from the nearby signage on the Vermont side gives you a full view of the length of this massive covered bridge with its beautiful backdrop of country side and river. Definitely worth a side trip from downtown Lancaster to give yourself a bit of history.

I came across the information about the statue in my research when I was planning a Santa's village weekend. I then knew I was going to Rey and make a sighting happened. Saturday morning. 3 inches of snow on the ground and our cabin has no breakfast. Crum Bum (bakery) hit my radar. I parked directly across the street from Crum and I saw the Polyanna Gateway! Then I thought, where is the statue and just beyond my husband's truck, there she was! It was meant to be! I happily went up the large step, took a photo of her and then us together. I then sent the photos to my Mom!

This jubilant statue of Pollyanna has her arms flung wide and her face to the sun ready to embrace the day. Located on the front lawn of the library, the parking lot is behind the building or park in town and walk over. Across the street is the Pollyanna Gateway which is a pedestrian stairway with a piano on the sidewalk at the top for anyone to play and colorful umbrellas overhead. At the bottom of the staircase is a public mural project. Littleton, NH is a cute little town with shops and restaurants to visit while in the area. A nice stop along the way.

The librarians and assistants are wonderful and go out of their way to help you. They do their best to get what you're looking for if it's not on the shelves as well as helping you to find what you want. They are so pleasant and make the library visit an enjoyable one.
