Apparently I was there on a not particularly busy day with less stalls then usual and a smaller crowd given the many events that were running that day, but there was still enough there to entertain me for a couple of hours and decrease the weight of my wallet! Take a carry bag as not all the stall holders have bags and take smaller notes and change to make paying up your bargains easier (most clothing items raged from $1 to $10).

Kebab's after a big night are more a religion nowadays than just grabbing a cab home. You need to enjoy the oily cuisine with your friends while drunkingly trying to hail a cab that will take the atrociously that you are home. This place is lit up by some lovely christmas lights at night and with all the pubs around I'm sure Town Hall makes a killing in the evening. I have enjoyed one or two kebabs here (it may as well have been 58 for all i know) and have to say that they do go down very well. Not too oily but still enough to fulfil the grease my body is craving.

Our first visit here was really special, with families from all kinds of cultures represented. It was so nice to see a space absolutely pumping, not filled with hipsters lining up for the latest hot thing in town, but filled with young and old from various religious backgrounds and areas in town all there for a happy time. The vibe was really great as people lined up, waited for their hot and steamy knafeh, chatted with strangers, laughed at kids dancing up front in front of the container and watched the shenanigans of the bearded bakers who spent equal amounts of time cooking and dancing. Kanafeh can be served as dessert, snack or breakfast. I am guilty of doing all three. I have to be honest, I've had what I thought was some pretty good kanafeh before, but enter The bearded bakers and their cool set up. Selling love, entertainment, laugh and some damn good kanafehs, and I am in love. Delicious and delicate, and just the right serving size. They probably cost a couple dollars more than what you would get at the pastry shop but well worth the trip and extra change. If you haven't seen them in action, I strongly recommend you make a night out of it. Grab some friends and go out for some kanafehs and mint tea and have a laugh and dance with these guys. Currently at Preston market on weekend ( evening), but I believe these guys are Sydney based and probably are not gonna be there for long.
