I then realized that my battery was about 5 years old and it was a distinct likelihood that it could be going bad. Afraid that my next start would have to be a jump, I pulled over (engine running of course) and called three "battery shops" asking each a simple question: "Can you replace my battery TODAY?" Of the three, Interstate was the only one who said "Yes. Period." One of the other two had nerve to say, "Well, it depends on where the battery is located!" (). Went to Interstate, they tested it and confirmed it was about to bite the dust! Fifteen minutes later, I was driving off Interstate's lot with a brand new battery and a ton of new cold cranking amps! I purchased 'lifetime' batteries for my car key fobs and was stoked. Now almost 2 years later, my battery was dying and this was the closest store, an hour plus away. I make a trek to Tuscaloosa for this and a few other errands. I go in the store and tell the young man working there that I have 'lifetime warranties' on my key fob. He very quickly said "yeah, we don't do that" or something to that extent. I said "Oh. OK." and retreated to my car. Upon getting in my car I pulled up their website which proved there was the same thing with a different name and went back inside. I then pulled out my phone and apologized for misspeaking and explained what I meant the first time. He then went to the back, without saying anything, explaining it to an older gentleman who then said "Yeah. Corporate's making us do that again. Just go change them out." I never received an apology or a 'whoopsie daisy'. I did get my batteries changed out though! Just a little frustrating when the folks at their jobs don't even attempt to do their due diligence before their customers walk out.

The associate who answered (after I called 3X and let it ring over and over) said "we are closed", I said the website shows you are open for 5 more minutes. He said yeah but we are closed. I said my son will be there before you close and told him what we needed. He said we are closed, I asked if he will leave a family of 6 stranded on the highway, really?? He said hold please. Then as soon as the clock hit 7:59, the line went dead. My son texted and called at 7:58 from the front of the store which was least locked up and no one answered when he knocked. As a business owner, I cannot even begin to to express my shock and outrage over this interaction. I truly hope that no one ever treats this man or his family as he has treated mine in this situation.
