This place is really cool and super amazing, not to mention Cody, the manager who is fast, efficient and super helpful. I came to replace a car battery and when I walked in, I was amazed that the store's name lived up to its reality. There is every kind of battery you could ever imagine in that place. I mean, there were watch batteries, ATV batteries, boat batteries, car, truck, RV, golf cart batteries, floor scrubber batteries, deep cycle batteries, scooter batteries, rechargeable batteries, lawn mower, two way radios, laptop, cellphone, camera and many more batteries. I went to get a battery for my security system and had never been in the store before. I was greeted and I explained what I needed. The sales person took me right to the item and discussed the different connectors and when I showed the picture of the battery, he picked out the one I needed, Great customer service, the place was organized and clean and had the product I required. This place has very nasty and rude owners. They are in the store from time to time, but are not receptive to correcting any issues. They do not care enough about their customers to even return phone calls, nor do they even attempt to resolve problems (EVEN THE ONES THEY OR THIER EMPLOYEES CREATE). My biggest complaint with the Metairie store is their attitudes and belittlement of customers. I will NEVER set foot in this place again. I understand the current owners are in the process of selling this store to a national chain. I hope this chain does the necessary Due Diligence before they complete this sale. I have spoken to Many other people about their experiences here, and NONE of them will ever return there because of rudeness, horrible attitudes, and downright uncaring encounters with owners and staff. I bought a replacement battery from these people on 3-4-22. I connected it to the alarm system and it did not work. I called the alarm company and they came out and charged me $100.00 for a service call, put in a new battery and it worked fine. The tech said the battery from Battery World was defective. I called to see if I could get a refund and was told no. I am no longer a customer and I will be sure my company no longer uses these rip off artists as well. read more

As of today it's still not done and I don't know if it will be done, so I'm out $45 in a time when I don't have a lot to spare. There's no organization to anything they're doing. I am really frothing mad at these people. I should have known not to go there. I took my Omega Constellation there for a new battery. The guy who changed the battery tore up the back of my watch. He should lhave just said that he did not know how to remove the back. Hopefully, the next time he sees an expensive watch, he will simply decline to provide the service. Ever see a specialty store and think, "who goes there?" I must have passed by battery world a million times on Severn and thought that exact thing. Suddenly, the day comes and I need a watch battery. Huzzah! Time to see what the elusive battery world is all about. The beauty of specialty stores is that the employees know their products. I asked if they sold watch batteries and they basically replied "duh" in the most polite way. I proceeded with the type I needed and I'm pretty sure the guy didn't even look over his shoulder when he grabbed it off the shelf behind him. While I was there another associate was helping a woman with another battery related issue. The guys working were so pleasant and helpful. This review is based on my 2nd visit to this location. I decided to stop by today on my lunch break to have batteries replaced on three of my watches. Before I gave my watches to the gentlemen, I asked if they would honor all three at the coupon cost (4.99). He then said yes but depending on the type of battery the watch required. Understandable.. I gave him my watches to be worked on. Patiently waiting, he finishes on two of the three and then says he cannot work on the third because he's "busted a couple knuckles" trying to open the back. That's fine. So it's check out time. It's going to be 20 something dollars.. I go to open their website up on my phone to get the coupon and he says no. "You are required to have a printed copy of the coupon in order to use it." Obviously something new to my ears! No where on the website or coupon states that it is required to be printed in order to be redeemed. He, Justin said he's the manager and that's how it works. It's funny that the last time I was here, I was allowed to use it via my phone! (Uh technology these days) I do remember a guy named Ben had helped me during my previous visit. He was great. Even thanked me for using the coupon! Anyway, Justin continues to tell me I have to have it printed and I could keep my watches there and come back with the coupons whenever I have it. No thank you. I had wish he told me this prior to working on my watches. "I had ASSUMED you had the coupon printed out". Well buddy, you know what they say when one assumes! After the Ann Klein watch that I truly loved sat in a draw for a year, I decided to Google it and see if it uses a battery, which it does. I also Googled a place to get batteries installed in Metairie and found this place. I walked in, told a young man behind the counter what I needed. He told me "just a moment." He rolled a chair over to a work area. About three minutes later my battery was installed and he was running my credit card. It was $10.50. He was friendly and polite. Beware ! There is a Catch 22 on their Warranties. Their Warranty is a CON job. If your battery goes bad they will not honor the Warrany if they cannot get a voltage reading of about 85% of the rated output battery voltage. It is NOT written anywhere according to Justin the store manager. Very disappointing after the many batteries I have bought from them. I will not go back. I was having a terribly difficult time with Sprint and replacing my cell phone battery. Apparently cell phone company's do not sell the batteries for their phones. Sprint recommended me to Battery World. I purchased the battery from them, it was perfect and I feel fairly priced. They even supply a 1 year warranty on it at no cost. The next day I learned it was not the battery, but rather that I had to replace the phone. I took the battery back not knowing what to expect and they allowed me to return the battery. No integrity. Easy with fabricating stories. Unhelpful. Conveniently ignorant. Millennial clerks from hell. Monday, went in for a cell battery. Told them if they couldn't get it in by the weekend, I was going to buy a new phone. No worries, says the little guy with the weird fingers, it would be in by Friday. Called Friday. Battery was in, technician was not, have to wait until Saturday. Saturday, guy with the weird fingers says battery was never ordered. I ask for a refund. Can't give me a refund because it was a special order (that wasn't ordered). I get upset. He tells me to calm down. He calls owner, who is out of town. Owner says (via the guy with the weird fingers) if the battery is not in (not ordered) on Monday, I'll give you a refund.Great. I wait until Monday to go back over there to get a refund I should have gotten on Sunday. Oh, it's been ordered, can't give you a refund. It will be in on Friday (sound familiar). Obviously they hurried up and ordered it on Monday knowing I was coming in. I call him on his lies. He gets upset. He says I should have known that there was no way his telling me it would be in on Friday (the first Friday) because I should have known that they use UPS and I should know that UPS is always unreliable. He further assassinates his own character by ignoring "if the battery isn't in on Monday we'll give you a refund. (BTW, I called before i made the trip and a woman told me to come in for my refund). I get pissed. He changes the story and continues to boysplain to me how the world works. I get more pissed. He says calm down. I curse him out. Because why would you agitate a customer and then tell them not not be agitated. HE CALLS THE COPS. Or so he pretended. It was another lie, a dramatic phone play, a tactic to get me to leave. I call him on it by waiting outside for the cops. Naturally, they didn't show up. I go back in and ask him "did you call them? Because i'm waiting." They're on their way, he says. He then sheepishly picks up the phone and apparently calls them for real. The cops come. I meet the cops. Explain the story. Naturally, they're aggravated on having been called because a human speedbump of a clerk pisses off a customer. Because that's the way they do business. read more

I purchased a replacement battery for my Kohler generator less than 1 year ago from Battery World in Metairie, La. It was the type, size storage battery specified by Kohler's operating manual. Yesterday, August 15, 2017, during a rain storm, there was a power failure. I expected the generator to "kick in" . When it failed to start, I lifted the top cover of the unit, and tried to manually initiate startup. However the motor failed to crank. I removed the battery compartment cover to find a battery whose caps had blown off, two large holes on the backside of the battery, as well as two holes in the top of the battery case. The interior of of the battery was devoid of any fluid (battery acid). Since the battery had two years remaining on the 3--year warranty, I returned the battery to Battery World the next day expecting the store to replace the battery under the guarantee. When the store manager passed by and observed the battery, he said, "oh looks like that battery blew up". I explained what happened, and requested a replacement. The manager said that the warranty only covers "FACTORY DEFECTS"." This type of damage is not covered", he added. I asked him how could this damage could not be attributed to a factory defect? He said that gasses apparently built up and that when the generator attempted to start, a spark ignited the gasses and resulted in the explosion, blowing the battery case apart. #1 - the battery compartment is well ventilated and did not appear to have damage. It is impossible for gasses to accumulate in the battery compartment. #2 - it was clear that the force of the exploding gasses originated from the battery's interior blowing the case apart and blowing the battery caps completely off. #3 - battery caps have built-in pressure relief features. #4- - the previous battery lasted nearly 5 years. I use this type of battery in our cars and boats. None of which EVER suffered this kind of failure. The BATTERY STORE manager would not be swayed however, and refused to replace the battery. He claimed that "he was protecting the warranty program". BOTTOM LINE.....I will never make another purchase from BATTERY WORLD and will discourage friends, family, and aquiantances from doing so. Factories are not perfect. However when obvious errors or factory defects occur, it is resonable to expect that the retailer and/or manufacturer will honor its warranty. .....So, I buy a battery. Bring it back the next day. It does not work. The battery gets hot when connected as well. Management says you want your money back or another battery. I say I want another battery, if it will work. They said then, if the second battery does not work they won't honor the warranty on the second battery. This makes no sense. Then I say can you test the battery I brought back to you? That way we would know if it's the battery or if it's the radio connection on my little clock radio. They said sure we can but it takes 24 hours to test the battery. LoL. First of all, it only takes seconds to test a battery. Second, it only takes seconds to test a battery. .... Total rookie running this place. My customer would have a battery in his hand and back out the door. This guy refunds my money and tells me he will call me in 24 hours to tell me if the battery tests out ok. .... Oh and PS, the management DID'NT CALL ME BACK. Kinda expected it. Wow. Never going back to this miss run POS ever again. Found the battery on EBay for %70 cheaper and it actually powers up and operates my unit. Case closed read more

I work for a digital marketing company in New Orleans, so obviously I need my computer to be working at all times. When I woke up this morning and my computer would not hold a charge, I was extremely worried. The Geek Squad at Best Buy told me that I needed a new battery, probably a $200 purchase. But they recommended I go to Battery World. There, the guys behind the counter figured out that it was simply my power cord, got me a brand new one and it was cheaper than Amazon or Dell.
