The price was great for the value. However, the room was non-smoking and reeked of stale cigarette smoke. Otherwise it was fine.

The Crash Pad - Top bunk life

    The Crash Pad

Recently traveled to Chattanooga for a multi day kayaking event. We came early to check out the…read morearea and after the event before we drove to the ATL airport. We were greeted by Will who was super friendly, helpful and informative. He gave us suggested hiking routes based on our parameters (scenic but not too hard since we had to kayak 30 miles the next day.) The facility is clean, I saw no evidence of spiderwebs or other bugs. I selected one of the bunks. I chose a lower bunk. The bunk has privacy curtains, a pillow, bed linen a light blanket and a towel. There is a shelf and two hooks plus a light and a fan. Two outlets are free for use for your electronic devices. The under bed storage is extensive. I was able to get a carryon roller bag, a 95 liter Osprey bag and a Tom Bihn backpack bag in the under the bed storage unit. They provide the lock and key. The under-bed storage is impressive. I fit a carry-on roller bag, a 95-liter Osprey pack, and a Tom Bihn backpack easily. They provide a lock and key for the storage unit. The kitchen is well-equipped, though not all guests follow the posted rules about cleanliness. The fridge had a bit of an odor and some old, leftover food from previous guests. The lobby is small but clean. There's no TV, but you can hang out outside, play cornhole, or relax by the fire pit. Parking is tight in the area, but The Crash Pad provides a pass for their small lot, which was a huge help. The Crash Pad is conviently located near many great resteraunts and bars. Our favorites were Blue Orleans and Ernest Chinese. I appreciated their sustainable choice to not to use paper towels or hand dryers. They use cloth hand towels in the restroom and kitchen which reduces waste and paper use. My only complaint was the hot water situation. After a long day outdoors, you just want a hot shower. There's a sign advising guests to wait or run other faucets to encourage the hot water flow, but when you're tired and smelly, you're not excited about leaving the shower stall to try to make it work. At the end of our trip, we ended up showering at the event's rented shower trailer at Camp Jordan after kayaking. Insider tips: Bring noise cancelling headphones (people snore and make other noises). Bring a short cast to hold your clothes and toiletries. The doors are locked 24/7. People will ask you to open the door for them (when they do not have a key) opening the door is your call. I didn't feel comfortable doing so after the staff left at 9 pm, they have a washer and dryer for a fee, and you can get extra towels and blankets if you need them. I really enjoyed my time in Chattanooga and at The Crash Pad. If you are from out of town and are adventuring in the area The CrashPad is an awesome, convenient an economical choice! .

In addition, they mentioned me having a dog with me in the room; their website clearly states that they welcome pets with "open arms" (see screenshot). I think the Crash pad has a good environment, but the communication from the management is extremely poor. And I think it's just absurd to not cater to people who live in Chattanooga (as a local Chattanooga business)

I came to Chattanooga expecting the usual hotel math: decent room, forgettable hallway carpet, and…read morea breakfast that somehow tastes beige. Instead, Embassy Suites decided to flex. From the moment I walked in, the place had that polished, easygoing vibe that makes you feel like you made the right call before you even hit the elevator. The environment is genuinely nice, some vintage Volkswagens were on display in the lobby... the kind of space that feels welcoming instead of transactional. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and, most importantly, stayed that way because housekeeping actually serviced them daily. That alone feels like a luxury these days. The location is not exactly the crown jewel of Chattanooga, but it nails the one thing that matters when you're traveling: convenience. It's easy to get where you need to go, easy to get back, and easy to settle in without feeling like you're fighting the city. And the staff? Warm, friendly, and consistently helpful. The kind of team that makes hospitality feel like hospitality. But the moment that won me over was the Little Debbie snack waiting in the room at check-in. That tiny touch somehow said, "Welcome to Tennessee, we speak fluent comfort food." A good hotel gives you a room. A great one gives you a reason to smile before you even unpack. That's exactly what this place gets right. It may not sit in the most exciting location, but it absolutely understands the guest experience. Clean rooms, daily service, kind staff, and just enough thoughtful touches to make the stay memorable. So I came in expecting standard hotel beige and left thinking about snack cakes, spotless rooms, and how easy they made the whole trip feel. Four stars, and yes, Little Debbie absolutely helped close the deal. And the VW's are a nice twist too!

SUVs won't have any problem but some lower sedans and certainly sports cars may scrape at the entrance. We had made reservations online but did not find out until we checked in they were undergoing pretty extensive renovations. The lobby was blocked off and we had to use a courtesy phone to get the clerk's attention. She then came to a side window and completed the registration. She indicated the foyer we were currently in would be cleaned up by the next morning and they would have a limited breakfast available. This information should have been presented in the online registration portal to allow potential customers to make an informed decision as to whether they wanted to stay there, especially when there is another motel right next door. The room itself was nice. It was older but clean and had all the typical amenities anticipated. We were at the rear of the building so there was no road noise and the room was pretty quiet. The next morning the foyer area included only yogurt and packaged breakfast items. Again, this information was not available prior to booking and no price break was offered for the lack of the advertised breakfast option. This motel may be much improved when the renovations are complete, but potential customers staying during the renovations need to be told of the changes up front.

There are a few restaurant options relatively close by and there is a cool Covil War battlefield within minutes and something that you should check out if you stay at this hotel. They even allow pets!($75 fee) The rooms here make you feel like you moved into a studio apartment but in a good way. I didn't get any pictures as we just stayed for 6 hours. I wish they had more options for breakfast but they do have a nice option of food and drinks around the main desk. I recommend this hotel to anyone in the area! Very new and safe!

There was grease or oil stained all over my nightstand. There were crumbs/ debris all over the floor and bed frame. There were pubic hairs on the nightstand. Then I went into the bathroom and immediately noticed a curly and long black hair on the sink counter. Even though it was late, we wanted to sit in the lobby area and chill out. Surprisingly enough, it was much cleaner down there so we relaxed a little before heading to bed. We purchased some drinks from the market and watched television. The front desk person was super friendly, attentive, and nice. We also requested a late check out, which she was able to give us until noon. I wish I got her name because she went out of her way to check on us multiple times while watching tv, including offering us the remote. She was about 5'3", dirty blonde hair, late 40's/ early 50's, Caucasian. Unfortunately we did not make it to breakfast due to us sleeping until after breakfast hours. Shower time was not fun. When I was at the conditioning hair point, the shower floor was flooded. I had to turn off the water to wait for the water to slowly drain. It was a first since the shower had a long strip for a drain. Luckily housekeeping was not pounding on the door when I took a couple minutes longer than noon. The rooms definitely need some checking in on but the staff were nice.

My room was clean and very comfortable, with a small couch, table and chair. The bathroom was well kept, with plenty of space for your toiletries. However, I was given a room on the second floor that looked out onto the lobby roof and the parking garage. I expected a room with a better view given my Gold status. The staff was pleasant and helpful. However, I found the internet appeared to be spotty at times. You had to reconnect every morning to the internet, which I do not recall this being required at other Hilton properties I stayed at, especially a Curio Collection hotel. In addition, you sometimes had to reconnect while in your room. One day, I went down to breakfast and although I re-checked onto the internet that morning, by the time I got downstairs, it was off again and I had to re-check in again. The parking garage on the property was free (you need to pull a ticket at first), and you get in and out with your room key. However, if you should stay passed your checkout time (like I did for lunch), when I went to use the key to leave the garage, it did not work. I had to repark, go back to the Front Desk and get the key card re-programmed. The gentleman at the Front Desk said the key card becomes nonresponsive at checkout time. I recommend the Front Desk inform its guests of this cutoff so that if you should enjoy lunch there or want to walk around the area before leaving, you are aware of this situation before you walk out to the garage and have to come back in.

My room was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly large, with beautiful views of the city. The staff was welcoming, and the overall atmosphere felt upscale while still being relaxed and inviting. One of the highlights of my stay was dining at Forge, the hotel's restaurant. If you visit, do yourself a favor and order the Honey Whipped Feta. The creamy, silky feta paired with sweet honey and served with charred baguette was absolutely delicious and one of the best appetizers I've had in a long time. Between the comfortable accommodations, excellent dining options, and convenient location, The Chattanoogan is a fantastic choice whether you're visiting for business, a convention, or a weekend getaway. I'd happily stay here again.

We had alarms set for 6am to continue driving on and when I woke up, I noticed a Bed bug crawling on the pillow (it was a baby bed bug). Upon inspection, I noticed an adult sized bed bug crawling on the other side of the bed. We were utterly disgusted and have never had this experience elsewhere. We took photos so we had proof to show the desk attendant named Cynthia as well as put both bugs on a napkin and brought them to the front desk. She saw them and squashed them because she said she did not want them to get away. The big bed bug was filled with blood. We felt super gross and asked for garbage bags to put anything we had brought into the room into the bags so we did not bring any home with us. My sister had welts on her legs from being bit in the middle of the night. We asked for the manager to call us back that day. We received a call from the desk attendant saying the manager approved $40 off our stay equating to 25% off. Obviously, with our room being priced at over $150, $40 did not seem fair for all the trouble we had to do to now sort through our stuff when we got home. We later received an email from the manager saying they had "an in house inspector" check out our room and found nothing. Just because you don't visibly see them during the day, does not mean there are no bed bugs. We received another call from another desk attendant and that is when we spoke up asking for at least half our money back from our stay. We did not enjoy the free breakfast they offered, did not get to enjoy the pool, and instead rushed out of the hotel because we did not want to be there any longer. We asked to speak personally with the manager over the phone and it has been about 7 days and no word from anyone. We even sent pictures over email of the ones we took that morning, which are attached to this review. Utterly disgusting and very dissatisfied. Very disappointed in their manager and the managers refusal to call us personally.
