The boat launch is directly next to Cafe Del Rio Mexican Restaurant and you can see the USS Alabama across The Causeway on the other side. During the summer, it is very busy & you can see alligators sunning themselves nearby in the tall grasses. I believe this boat launch gives access to The Mobile-Tensaw River Delta. Mobile Bay is very shallow. Also a good point for kayaks and rafting. It is known locally as a very good fishing spot, but the pier sign says no crabbing or fishing from the pier. I see a lot of retired fisherman come here, they bring a lawn or deck chair and fish more behind the parking area near the water.

Alabama has a lot of military history, but there is no fort here anymore, but it once stood here. This particular location was chosen because it was the highest point in Spanish Fort and is on a steep hill. We got quite the workout going up and down the park. It has many commemorative plaques detailing the fort's history, along with a statue, and Confederate Flags. There is a wooden bridge and staircase, and benches. When visiting here, we felt a supernatural energy from the now deceased Civil War soldiers fighting here many years ago. This spot is nestled in a neighborhood, there is no parking lot, just watch for the historical Fort McDermott sight and park near it. This is a privately maintained park by an organization, so be aware that there are areas of poison oak, so you might want to wear pants.

We had a total of a few hours, for 2 days, with this guy and he probably made 100+ innopropriate remarks towards my wife. I just laughed it off but she was obviously uncomfortable. I requested a refund and this guy gave us back less then half what we paid, which was around $1100! We were also uncomfortable about the marijuana smell coming from his area and employee. We are in the process of talking to the BBB and issuing a complaint. He is welcome to try and make this right.

Lots of oak trees full of Spanish Moss and palm trees. Large field across from the park as well, I am not sure if it is part of the park or not. Large roofed pavilion with restrooms nearby. Benches and tables under the trees. I gave four stars instead of five because the bathrooms were locked. Appears safe, no questionable characters when I was there with my dog.

This is a great course in Daphne that runs along D'Olive creek. A former Par 3 golf course, the…read morefirst 9 holes were developed and opened within the last couple of years. The course is open, but it has some elevation and makes use of a few copses of trees to good effect in order to create a quick yet interesting course. Typically I would simply play the 9 holes twice to get in a full 18 holes, but the past few months the town has been quickly developing a swath of land across the street from the front 9 and the back 9 is almost ready to go. Tee pads are in (except for a little confusion on the direction of the pad on 14) and 7 of 9 holes have baskets up and are ready for play. The front 9 has only a single par 4 (hole 7), but the back 9 has 3 par 4s (holes 11, 13, 15). There are signs up showing the lie of the hole and distance on the front 9 and I expect the back 9 will get signs eventually too. There is a paved walking/jogging path that runs completely around the front 9 and runs out along the right side of the course on the back 9. In addition there is a pavillion with a picnic table and areas designated to be 'recreation areas' that have yet to be developed. The grass is often mowed and the course well maintained. The ground can be kinda spongy and sandy in places, and watching where you step around some of the holes should keep you from stepping in an ant mound. All in all, it's my favorite course in the Mobile area and keeps me driving across the causeway nearly every other weekend.

Has playground, baseball diamond, football field, basketball court. Forgive the debris you see in the pool pictures I provided, it is Mid-April, the pools are closed in Mobile Parks until maybe Summer. Wonderful, quiet place, though in a historic community ( Africatown, USA).
