Stopped by on my way home and I thought it was an excellent choice. First, it's amazing to see Troy's growth throughout the years. Seeing the local sports legends memorialized on the venue walls was a neat sight since I grew up watching some of them. On this evening, I met an old friend and we were greeted and seated fairly quickly despite there being a full house. Our waiter was a little 'spaced out', but he was fast, efficient, and effective. He was extremely attentive and gave stellar recommendations from the menu. I had the Naan Chicken Philly. It was delicious. Not to mention, the gulf shrimp were an excellent appetizer as well. This is a new location. It is huge inside. More than enough space for your biggest party. As a matter of fact, a party of 19 came in as we left. Lots of TVs. Food was excellent. I wanted the Alabama Hot Chicken platter, but hey didn't have any grits so I had to switch to the sandwich. The piece of chicken received was HUGE! My wife enjoyed her Poorboy also. I came here because we went to visit Troy University and they were open late. We were greeted as we walked in the door and sat pretty fast. The menu was nice and they even had a recession menu for those in a budget. The vibe is very sports related. This made me happy. Preston was our server. He was very helpful with my drink and food options. The food was very good. I had Char Grilled Chicken and chips and my daughter had, Naan Ranch BLT. We both enjoyed everything. I had such a great experience, I returned Saturday to watch the basketball game. Juno was my bartender and she was great. I had a top shelf Long Island and the Geaux Fish. The fish was AMAZING! Having never tried this place we were reticent to stop. So glad we did. Seated immediately and the server came over without hesitation. Great service. Husband tried the Jamaican jerk chicken breast and I got the Naan shrimp po boy. His was amazing. Chicken was juicy, flavorful and such a great portion. My po boy came out with 5 fried shrimp on it, some shredded lettuce, sliced tomato and remoulade. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and tasted great! Not enough remoulade (per my taste) but so tasty. Good lunch choice! We also tried the fudge pecan pie with a side of vanilla ice cream. This was an interesting dessert as it was covered in raspberry sauce (and looked nothing like the picture). Worst experience ever! Long wait after being seated just to order, repeated requests for basic items and zero attentiveness. Dirt in water, not knowledgeable about menu items, we were done eating before napkins & condiments showed up! I had to get an attendant to find the waiter just to order and another waitress to get my waiter so I could get up out of there!!! Our waiter was ghost the entire time we were there! They came over and asked me what was wrong? Apologies after the fact did not fix it and management never addressed the issue. I will not be returning no matter who is paying. This was our first time in Troy, we were in town so that my son could visit the university. Honestly, we were glad to see such a hearty crowd on a Sunday night in a town that I am unfamiliar with! We had about a 20 minute wait which is no big deal in our opinion. Glad they offered Meomi Pinot Noir for $10 glass which is a deal! Their draft beer options were plentiful. My son ordered a burger and curly fries and he said both were good. I had an artesian salad with marinades grilled chicken and balsamic vinaigrette. The flavors were good, although the chicken was a tad dry. My husband ordered a salad with chicken tossed in buffalo sauce. He uses TONS of dressing, and it came with just one tiny cupful - he asked for more, and got one additional cup although he probably could have used three more, but he made due. He also ordered a cup of chili, which he said was.....Odd. The flavors were fine, but it had several soggy french fries in it which we couldn't figure out of that was a mistake, or their secret ingredient. Y'all if it's your secret ingredient....well, secret is out and I'd let that idea go. We did laughingly observe that there are actually TOO many TVs in this restaurant. This last time was an hour before closing, party of 7, plenty of tables open. Seated, waited close to 10 minutes for drinks to arrive and orders taken. Waited almost 20 minutes for food to be served with one round of drink refills and two drinks were skipped at that. Food arrived with cold fries, burgers over cooked, and condiments missing. Server goes MIA again with drinks empty. An hour into this, we flag over manager. Friendly guy that apologizes and gave us a 25% discountfor the trouble, but way too comfortable with leaning over us and firmly grabbing my friends shoulder and back while talking to us. I should have read the reviews first. One of the worst places I've eaten from anywhere in the world. I didn't have high expectations as I ordered a basic burger, fries, and a pint. The fries were curly fries. It seemed that they were made from a mix and expressed from a machine. They had been frozen and had a spongy, sort of "cheetoh-like" texture. Tasteless burger and probably from frozen beef. Charged for an extra beer that I didn't order and was told Alabama law would not allow them to remove from order ( although they finally did). Thought I'd try a dessert. They had a blackberry cobbler on the menu which is advertised as the state fruit of Alabama. The cobbler was served in an old drugstore-type ice cream glass. A few warm blackberries in the bottom covered in ice cream and whip cream. That's not a cobbler nor how you serve cobbler. I think the dessert summed it up.
