I contacted Anchor Air at the recommendation of my previous HVAC contractor because they were too…read morebusy to help me. I spoke with a woman on the phone and told her that my mini-split systems were not heating and that I had someone add refrigerant late in the summer. I suspected they were low. They came the next day which was quite a pleasant surprise only to have them fill my system after telling me that it was totally empty and then handed me a bill for over $500. After the technician left, I contacted the office and told them that I was shocked they filled the system and concerned that it would be a waste. They assured me it had to be done because they couldn't leak check an empty system. They agreed to come back a couple weeks later to leak check. When the technician arrived again, the system was empty once again. He then proceeded to leak check the empty system with Nitrogen. His conclusion was that I had multiple leaks that couldn't be repaired and handed me a $360 bill. When I contacted the office with my frustration, the person on the phone once again told me that they could not leak check an empty system (even after the technician had already done it). I was extremely frustrated that I wasted $500 dollars when they could have just done the leak check without filling the system first. They told me that's "what I asked for". After all of this, they wanted me to purchase a completely new system from them. I will never do business with this company again. They expect their customers to be the expert and tell them what needs to be done. The people on the phone with the customer do not know what can and can't be done. I would look for a company with better customer service and not someone just looking to make a quick buck.

At the end of November, we knew our system wasn't working correctly. Our other guy retired so we…read morecalled JNK. He came in for under an hour, said the system was working perfectly fine, but we should turn on the auxiliary heat full time. Charged us for two hours of labor. We paid, but my husband called him after work to explain he disagreed with his opinion. Again, told us that the system was working perfectly fine. When comparing our December and January bills with last year's, we used DOUBLE the amount of electricity. We called JNK, hoping he'd make things right. This time, he came and said we just needed a new thermostat and that's what caused such an increase in usage. The auxiliary heat was running constantly. We explained that we knew something was wrong in November and asked if he would work with us on this bill, but he said no. We will never have this company back to our home. All in all, we lost over $1500 for a $173 thermostat.
