I called today July 22 2024 to book my dog vaccines and was told that they are booking vaccines in August 2025. I was floored.. I explained that that would mean she would be almost 2 years without her vaccinations ( she's due in October 2024) I was told that she would still have some vaccines running in her system.. The parvo virus is in Sudbury right now.. The lady on the phone explained, since quite a few vets have retired or quit the have taken these new clients. That's why the waiting list is long.. I also find since Dr.Yoppy sold this practice Walden Animal Hospital has lost their sight on being a top notched Animal Hospital.. I'm very dissatisfied..

They made me feel at home when dropping off and picking up my pup, they also went the extra mile when personalizing all the paperwork and overall making me and my girlfriend feel like my pup was in the hands of genuinely caring people. We received an incredibly detailed report after the procedure which made us feel confident with the aftercare. The pricing was very fair, and it did not take long to be booked in for the procedure. I will recommend this place very highly to my friends, family and anyone who needs pet care.

The surgery was too complex for him and when he called me post op, he told me my dog might be paralyzed and might not have bladder function.....he would not know until the morning. He also said, and I quote, "It was a frustrating experience." How dare he say that to me! His tone and his words were indicative of someone who was blaming "my dog" for the unsuccessful surgery he performed. There was no good reason to scare me and speak to me the way he did. Very unprofessional! He is such a narcissist....it's all about HIM. He wanted me and my dog GONE ASAP and that is exactly what happened. The day I picked my dog up, about two hours later, I called to report missing medication in two bottles (not a big deal, just a counting error) and I also reported that the island dressing was already falling off. Dr. Rocheleau had JUST 2 hours before told me it was to stay on for two weeks to help prevent infection. Anyway, I called to advise staff about both issues. I was spoken down to by an arrogant staffer and I let her know I was not impressed with the way she was speaking to me. Within 10 minutes I received a call that I was banned from the property and no longer a client. WOW! There is more than one narcissist in the office! Clearly Dr. Rocheleau knew he was out of his comfort zone with my dog's case and was willing to do anything to never see my dog again. He did me a favour though because now my dog is actually being cared for by a REAL Veterinary Neurologist/Neurosurgeon.....not a wanna be. Also, it took five weeks, numerous emails and numerous telephone calls from the new Veterinary Neurologist/Neurosurgeon's office and myself to get a copy of the original CT Scan that Dr. Rocheleau performed. Finally I told the new Vet office to advice him that "legally" he HAD to provide the CT Scan to the new Vet and that if he didn't I would report him to The College of Veterinarians of Ontario. Espanola Animal Hospital staff FINALLY forwarded the CT Scan. Unreal! Unprofessional. Dr. Rocheleau is responsible for his staff, so he can't use the excuse "I didn't know." HE KNEW! I would never advise anyone to go to that clinic if their animal had a serious issue. Drive to Southern Ontario or Michigan and seek out a Specialist Veterinarian.

People should be given the choice where to go. I called myself Dr PJ Rocheleau office (705-869-0090) after being frustrated with the diagnosed we were given at your clinic, being misdiagnosed and told our dog would have to live like that the rest of his life I took things in my own hands and contacted Espanola Animal Hospital and got an appointment right away and my dog was properly diagnosed and is being operated one week after my appointment and does not have to live like that the rest of his life. Dr Rocheleau from Espanola Animal Hospital is very thorough, shows you videos about surgery to be performed, examines your dog thoroughly, has dog in a special room doing activities while being assessed, which the room has a big glass window that you can watch. They do so much, we were there for 3 hours while our dog was assessed in many different ways. Their waiting room is incredible, the staff very professional, caring.... I can't say enough about Espanola Animal Hospital how fantastic they are. Chelmsford Animal Hopital Please give people the choice of going to Toronto or one mile from your clinic. Your clinic misdiagnosed my dog and even the Toronto orthopedic surgeon misdiagnosed my dog and we were even told our dog will have to live like that the rest of his life ....., my dog suffered two and a half months for nothing. Dr Rocheleau from Espanola Animal Hospital found exactly what was wrong with our dog which my dog is getting operated one week after seeing Dr PJ Rocheleau, orthopedic surgeon and does not have to live the rest of his life like he was. My brother-in-law, Josh, was already waiting inside with his companion of 16 years, aware that these were his final moments with her. You asked my brother to leave the room due to COVID after he placed his girl, Abby, on the operating table. He shared with us how much it hurt to hear her whimper from the other room when the catheter was put in. Wanting to be with her during this time of distress, Josh requested access to the room. You made him feel insignificant when you begrudgingly granted him access to his worried pet. You then made Josh carry his 85lbs companion to the waiting room where you no sooner entered and motioned with one hand toward him, fingers clapping toward yourself, aggressively stating, "the money" in a brazen request of the $620.05 payment required for the after-hours service. Josh found a nickel in his truck after you told him he was five cents short of his cash payment. Shortly after receiving the funds, you waved your hand in the air, claimed "the deed is done", then left the building. Your nurse tried to convince Josh to fit his XL dog into a medium-sized biodegradable bag, indicating she could, "help fold her." He, in all of his emotion, gathered himself enough to request a larger bag - which was provided. He then carried his old girl out to his vehicle and drove to join me to bury her. Josh didn't mention this occurrence to me as we tore up our hands that evening, digging a hole for a loved one as the sun fell between the trees. It took him a few days to be able to articulate his experience with you and your business. I don't blame him; He endured a trauma. Now, we're not positive if you're the "in-house" vet, or if you're the "on-call" guy. What I do know, though, is that your treatment of our family is gutting. Abby was not only my brother's long-time companion; she was our family pet - a loved one. We all sat with her, an hour before she met you, saying our goodbyes to the kind and gentle personality we've grown so accustomed to having with us. She was a reflection of her owner. He knew it was time for her to go. Nevertheless, who could truly be ready for such a goodbye? You simply dismissed them both as an inconvenience on a weeknight. What Josh experienced here is despicable in its entirety - and it's something you should wear. Our family felt it only fair our story be shared with the public, in memory of Abby - may she rest in peace. Chelmsford Animal Hospital, you've left a terrible taste in our mouths.
