The entertainer arrived in jeans and a gray college sweatshirt with no company attire or costume, and without a table or even a chair for herself. She had only a small tray for her supplies, so I had to find a bench and figure out where to set her up. She was pleasant and the face painting and balloons themselves were fine, but there was very little engagement or presence as a party entertainer. Several guests didn't realize she was the entertainer, and I spent time directing parents and children over to her instead of enjoying my son's party. When I contacted the owner afterward, she initially apologized and acknowledged that she had missed my requests on the intake form and that the communication failure was on her end. She also explained that their artists normally arrive in company attire. I was then told that the person sent to our party was actually a trainee and that trainees do not bring tables, chairs, specific attire, or costumes. This was never disclosed to me before booking. Had I known I was paying $250 for a trainee with a substantially different level of service, I would have chosen one of the other entertainment companies we were considering. I understand that mistakes happen, and the entertainer herself was perfectly nice. My disappointment is with paying for one experience, receiving something very different, and only learning afterward that we had been assigned a trainee. Unfortunately, I would not book with this company again.
