So the beginning communication with the owner was great. The pricing, selections, arrangement, and agreements were clear and concise. The communication leading up to the event and the day prior were initiated by me, and should've been by the service provider. We confirmed the arrival time for the set up was 11 am. This was to allow for an hour prior to the start of the event. My order included a backdrop, balloon arch, a welcome sign, and an oversized bear to match our theme. The owner arrived 40 minutes late and was still setting up into the arrival and start of our event. The owner forget the oversized bear. I will say they provided me a small refund off the final total, but it really disappointed my wife on a day that was supposed to be perfect. The welcome sign was poorly set up and two of my guests fixed it with some tape borrowed from the venue staff. When the owner finished setting up, she told me that she needed me to take the balloon arch, backdrop, and welcome sign with me, because she had another event planned. I quickly informed her that wasn't our agreement. I was clear during our initial conversation about the contract with the venue and the requirement that the space be cleared by the end of our event. The owner apprehensively agreed to pick up her stuff. I told her that final payment would be made upon pickup because I was on the hook for a large payment to the venue for every 30 minutes over the space wasn't cleared. Luckily things worked out, but I did not like the last minute negotiations and the owner setting up over half an hour into our 3 hour baby shower. I loved the color and the back drop, I just wish the company was managed a bit better. This day was important to us and fine details matter. read more
