I really wanted to love this place, especially because it's a local business which I'm proud to support. Sadly, I am very disappointed with my experience and do not recommend based on the quality of customer service I received. The lady who works there was EXTREMELY rude to me when I arrived to pick up my order. Not only did she not offer to help me bring it out to my car, but she then snapped at me when I asked for help saying that they don't typically do this unless explicitly asked. Um ok. After that she refused to make eye contact with me, rolled her eyes when I asked for a printed receipt of my order and told me that I needed to wait because I didn't call in advance. Totally unacceptable behavior. They also charge a hefty markup on their stuff. Overpriced for what you get IMO. read more

I always order the giant balloons with a curly q tail balloon in the same color. It looks like a gargantuan balloon from far away and they go great in enterance ways or even floating above the table teathered with a little weight. For my friend Leslie H's birthday last year, I also got these cute fruit shiskabobs made of different candy (like gummy peaches, gummy apple rings, gummy strawberries etc). They were individually wrapped in a cello bag with a ribbon and were so cute! The folks there are always so nice and if I can help it, I always try to order in advance so I can just pick up. It's a cute party store. I was especially impressed with the selection of special balloons and balloon towers on display. We went there to find some Halloween decorations and they didn't have a great selection on that, but I suppose for a little store it wasn't bad. Rather eclectic. They also sell candy and fudge. I love this business! Every time I call, they have what I want and quickly take my order over the phone. They always come through when I figure out I need last minute balloon orders or other party supplies. I have never had any issue with a single order I've placed on the phone- it's always ready and waiting right when they say it will be! Horrible place. My son touched some balloons and immediately she yelled at my 5 year old not to touch the balloons. The balloons I was ordering weren't even nice due to the fact that she rushed me out of the store and didn't fix the strings. She rushed me out because I came in with my kids. I came into a party store not an antique shop. Very low quality over priced balloons. Safeway would have been better quality, cheaper, and better service. I will never go back and don't recommend anyone ever going there. Everything there can be found at Safeway or target. Or the dollar store and party city for sure. Cute store if you are throwing a party for kids. They have a ton of different invitations, balloons and kids stuff for parties. This store is small and crammed with stuff which made it hard for me to look around. It's just a bit too small for the amount of items that they carry. I would come here if I was throwing a kid's party but probably not use them for any other type of celebration like a wedding or baby shower. read more

You would not think it from the name, but this is a party supply store. I'm assuming it is an independent shop from the name since it does not say party city or something else chain-esque which is a bonus. Sweet celebrations is in the same plaza or complex as the Alamo Safeway. You may wonder where it is like I did, but keep going, go some more, it is all the way in back by the post office. When I walked in a few weeks ago they had a big 49ers display for the Superbowl which was nice. I personally didn't need anything for the Superbowl, but still it is nice to know you can get your football party supplies here. The store is laid out in sections. There is candy and some upscale adult chocolate desserts near the front. They have a very clear sign by the candy saying don't mix or you will get charged the higher price. Behind the candy and desserts on the right side of the store they have a section with some consumes and accessories. Right next to this section are themed party supplies and this is what I was looking for, Hawaiian themed party decorations. They have table cloths, table skirts, minor costume accessories with grass skirts, hanging decorations, things to put on the wall, plus napkins, plates and glasses all for your party theme. At the end of the aisle was a clearance section for a little extra snooping around to see if something you like is on sale. Once I picked my merchandise I checked out the rest of the store on the way out. There was a kid's party section, balloons, standard party supplies in a rainbow of colors, plus novelties and toys, everything you would expect in a well stocked party supply store. They helped us every step of the way to find what we were looking for and take our order for birthday event. There were a lot of people shopping here when we went to get our supplies and to place an order for a birthday, but they did not make us feel rushed. In fact offered two extra decorated balloons at a highly discounted price which was nice. Had a really good experience and we will continue to order our balloon supplies from this store. Oh Sweet Celebrations! :) I spent lots of my allowance at your store during middle school (oh so long ago)! I was big into stationary and stickers for letter writing (yes there was a time when people did this before email) so this place was great for it. My best friends and I would also get necklaces made there and they have tons of party supplies too. I have passed by recently and the only thing I don't like about it is the size of the store but nothing they can do about that without moving. They have a good location near Blockbuster and the Post Office and have been in that spot for years. read more

We have used Sweet Celebrations for every one of my kids birthdays. Although prices are sometimes a bit higher than chain stores, I still prefer to shop here and support this small, family owned business. The store is much less cluttered since the expansion. There are tons of great items for kids birthdays, holidays and even candy. I am always able to buy everything I need from balloons to decorations, or even the goody bags. If you are having a party in the morning like we sometimes do (11am), ask for "high float" and you can actually pick up the balloons the previous evening. I did this for my son's birthday last week and the regular latex balloons are still in perfect shape. We could have another party with the same balloons if we needed, lol!! Also, if you are ordering one of the large displays that are often in the front of the store, they do offer delivery at an extra charge. There is no way I could have ever picked those up myself! The customer service is excellent with the staff always ready to make the perfect balloon arrangement to fit the budget and occasion and for help with party supplies. You will NOT be disappointed! I discovered this place accidentally from a Living Social offer that I purchased last year. I am so happy I did as I had used another "balloon/party" store that a relative suggested for a previous affair with unsatisfactory results. I have to say their website does NOT do the store justice! For a small party store in comparison to a larger chain like Party City, Sweet Celebrations offers more variety at only a slightly higher cost. Their friendly & willing to help staff makes it worth it compared to uninterested and unhelpful staff at other similar stores. I purchased several amazing balloon displays: 16' wild & wacky arch, 2 flower topiary displays, 2 jubilee displays & 2 dozen individual latex balloons. Thankfully Sweet Celebrations provided a low cost delivery service. They were timely on the date of delivery and happy to say all balloons made it un-popped! Thanks to Sweet Celebrations, their incredible balloon displays added that extra touch in making my daughter's 1st Birthday party that much more memorable! My daughter and her friend did not have a good experience at sweet celebrations. My daughter and her friend went to buy a gummy bear to surprise their friend because she was having a bad day and pink gummy bears were her favorite. They only had eight cents, but they thought it would be enough. When they rung up the gummy bear at the cashier, the lady said, "Are you serious? You're buying one?" in a rude tone. It turned out to be ten cents, so they sheepishly told the lady that they couldn't afford it and they were sorry. The lady proceeded to say, "Don't play games with me and never come back here again." My daughter and her friend were so surprised that they thought she was joking. She then said, "I'm serious. Do not come here. Bye." I hope they know that they lost not only two loyal customers, but also their family members. On a side note, the candy there is very good and they have a nice selection, however their customer service is...iffy. read more

As a guy I never thought that this place would work for me, but after they enlarged there store to twice the size, I was amazed at how much product they carry in this store. I go there at least once a week. I pick up my mail at the post office next door, and then I wonder in and find cards, candy, balloons and everything. Now I only need to go to one place on all those special days like Valentines, Halloween, and Baptism to mention a few. Oh I even got the kids Halloween customs, and my wife loves the Christmas time. I used them for a 30th birthday party. I had called around and couldn't find anywhere that had individual large number balloons In gold... I was so relieved when I called and they said they had almost every color! Price was great also! The other place I was going to use charged $18 per large balloon. Sweet celebrations was $11! I have used Sweet Celebrations for several large functions, and the service is prompt and courteous and the balloons are very creative, fun and reasonably priced. If you're planning a wedding, bar or bat mitzvah, birthday or retirement party, these folks are the BEST! They will come out for free to evaluate the site, and there are several books filled with photographs of the creative balloons that they have provided for parties over the years. I don't know about the other peoples' complaints about a dirty store, but I have always found the somewhat cluttered surroundings enjoyable - they almost always have what I need for a party, large or small.
