I loved the entry way like and old italian villa with palm trees. Service was nice and the staff attentive but not bothersome. We did a tasting and then I bought a bottle for my cousin and I to share and for one to take home which we eventually shared too lol! The seating area is comfy and has views of the winery and where they make the wine. Totally cool out door seating that was full but not so close that you feel tight. The wine was nice and my cousin gets to pick as she knows more about me in regards to wine and I trust her choices. She is like my sister so I trust her. We both liked what we got and what we got to taste. Overall we both Liked Rubino and we would go again. Highly recommend visit if you like a nice intimate place, beautiful sights and awesome wine.

We were having a wonderful time relaxing, enjoying a wine bundle special we purchased, and sharing a charcuterie board. However, our experience was ruined when a host approached our table and asked if we were close to leaving because there was a long waitlist. Several other tables had arrived before us, yet none of them were approached. This treatment felt unfair and left a very bad taste in my mouth. After many years of enjoying my membership, this experience has made me seriously consider canceling it. Please be better.

Are you kidding me?! How is this the first time that I'm hearing about this event?! This event was…read morefabulous! It's basically an all you can sip wine buffet! An absolute dream for all of you winos out there. I came across this event on the Alameda County Fair website. I had planned to attend the fair, but couldn't figure out which date that I wanted to go. But once I saw this event, I knew that I just had to go and check it out because it just sounded too good to be true! I paid $45 for the event which included admission into the fair. Parking was not included, and I prepaid for parking online which costed $10. This event was actually held on the field right in the middle of the horse races! I was given a wrist band that included in and out privileges, but I ended up staying there the whole time since I got there about an hour and a half after it started. The event was held between 2 and 5 pm, but I rolled in "fashionably late" (ahem!) at 3:30pm. I actually feel like this was a great time to go because the lines weren't excessively long, and I might have passed out from all of the wine if I would have kept drinking. There were over 40 different wineries pouring their most popular and award winning wines! There were many local wineries as well as a few that I had recently visited while wine tasting in Mendocino county! Way too many to name, but there was so much variety! The pourers were mostly volunteers, so many of them didn't know too much about the wineries and the background of the wines. However, this event wasn't meant to be intimate as there were so many different wineries that were showcasing their wines. There were many shaded tables and chairs around where people could sit. They also had a big wager tent where people could sip while betting on the horse races! I did not participate in the betting this time around, but I would like to do it next year for sure. I must have tried over 50 different wines that day! A word of advice to anyone who is thinking about coming out: drink lots of water and pace yourself! I believe that they had a water stand available in the wagering tent, but I just brought my own. Unfortunately, I didn't follow my own advice and didn't pace myself. I'll let you figure out how the night ended... In any event, the Sip, Savor, & Wager was really fun! I met lots of people, mingled around, and tried many different wines that I had never tried before. There were also a few food trucks around for those who didn't get a chance to eat. This was the first time that this event was held in conjunction with the Alameda County Fair and I think it was an excellent turn out! Being able to get a closeup view of the horse races was icing on the cake. I definitely plan to attend the event next year if they decide to have it again!

Biggest problem is they don't serve the wines (especially reds) at appropriate temperatures. Reds shouldn't be served at room temp when its 93 degrees out! Otherwise it's a decent time.

If you are trying to find a wine tour, look no further!…read more It was easy to book. We signed up for the Grape Escape Wineries Tour. You tell them where you reside and they will find a close pick up spot. Kathi and JR called a few days before as a courtesy reminder and answered any of our questions. They provided a tasty lunch and dessert. Nice and clean van with little snacks. JR was so knowledgeable about the South Bay Area, Los Altos Hills and Cupertino area. Great energy from start to the end. The Grape Escape Winery Tour that we signed up for included three wineries: the Ridge, Vidovich and Picchetti Brothers. It wasn't the best weather, but when it wasn't raining, you can see all of the Bay Area. And as we were traveling in between, JR was just educating us on everything. Grape experience. Grape customer service. Highly recommend!!! Thank you JR and Kathi!!!! Our family had the best time! Oh and JR is a peacock whisperer too lol

We returned to Sonoma in 2026 with a small group and booked another tour. Booking and communication was a breeze. Very good. Ends up the property I rented offered a wine passport and we were to receive a discount. I called to confirm and they let me know the driver would apply the discount when we paid him the day of the tour. All sounded wonderful and was very clearly communicated. The tour in 2026 only went to 3 wineries. Two were just ok and one was not good. I don't think anyone on our tour purchased anything here. The time at each winery was like a typical tasting with some information on their winery. But no real information on Sonoma and Napa and the history of the area. At the end our driver had no clue on our discount and kept telling me he would get in trouble for charging me less. He insinuated I was making it all up. In the end he did honor the discount but seemed he did it as a favor not that it was a program that Platypus participates in. All in all I was disappointed in this wine tour and would no go on a platypus tour again and would not recommend them. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day. Luckily all the people on our tour were delightful so that made for a nice day.

EXCELLENT customer service from start to finish. It was the private experience we all truly loved! We also met Toni, the other owner, at the second winery. Super friendly, welcoming, and sweet. Kevin was our driver who tolerated our semi-obnoxious millennial party! Haha! I also loved how he frequently checked in to see if we needed a cold water bottle to stay hydrated. The trolley didn't have to do this but it was a great touch! And can't forget he was always willing to be our photographer/videographer when needed. 20/10 for Kevin! The trolley ran on schedule where we were able to visit 3 different wineries. During the ride we were able to play our own playlist, be loud, maybe even treating the poles like stripper poles... We had a time! Let's keep it at that. This was a first time experience for many of us (trolley ride) which was overall amazing. At our first stop we were provided two different types of cheeses to enjoy with our tastings. Courtesy of Harjeet! I believe one was lavender espresso and the other was described as a white cheddar. I personally enjoyed the lavender one more. The floral notes were not nearly as strong as some other floral foods. Highly recommend Lodi Wine Trolley. They went above and beyond making it such a wonderful and memorable day!

**Curated Winery Tours absolutely knocked it out of the park.**…read more I'm a travel advisor, and I reached out to Chris while planning a fairly high-end Sonoma experience for clients who already had some definite ideas about the wineries they wanted to visit. Rather than simply taking their list and arranging transportation, Chris did exactly what I hope for when I bring in a trusted local expert: he listened, understood the type of experience they were looking for, and then made it significantly better. Chris suggested several wineries and experiences my clients knew very little about and encouraged us to trust his recommendations. I'm incredibly glad we did. The result was phenomenal. My clients were so impressed that I was getting play-by-play updates, photos, and messages throughout their day telling me how much they were loving every stop. As a travel advisor, there really isn't a better feeling than having clients reach out *during* an experience because they're too excited to wait until afterward to tell you how good it is. What impressed me most about Chris is that this wasn't simply transportation between wineries. This was true curation. He understood the personalities of my clients, what would impress them, and how to create a day that felt special rather than cookie-cutter. He introduced them to places they likely never would have discovered on their own--and those ended up being some of the highlights of their trip. Chris is knowledgeable, responsive, personable, and clearly passionate about Sonoma and its wineries. More importantly, he has the local relationships and instincts that simply can't be replicated by Googling "best wineries in Sonoma" and building an itinerary yourself. For fellow travel advisors: Chris and Curated Winery Tours are exactly the kind of partners you want taking care of your clients. I trusted him with high-end clients and he made me look very, very good. And for anyone visiting wine country: give Chris an idea of what you like, then let him do what he does best. You may think you know where you want to go--but there's a very good chance Chris knows somewhere you'll love even more. Curated Winery Tours has absolutely earned a spot on my short list of trusted partners in California wine country, and I won't hesitate to send future clients their way.
