Valentine Day Dinner hosted by Livermore Wine Trolley We checked in at Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Livermore and were welcomed with a very tasty sparkling wine from The Singing Winemaker, which immediately set a festive tone for the evening. From there, everyone boarded the Livermore Wine Trolley--red or white coach options--and headed to our first stop: Longevity Wines. Longevity Wines may look modest from the outside, but inside it was warm, charming, and thoughtfully decorated for Valentine's Day--flowers, hearts, rustic touches, a small stage, and plenty of seating. The trolley director hosted a fun Newlywed-style game while the Longevity team circulated with pours. The wines were solid across the board, with the Cabernet Franc and Petite Syrah standing out as the clear highlights of the stop. Next up was Three Steves Winery. We were greeted with a glass of Rosé before heading into the barrel room for dinner. Steve introduced himself briefly, gave a quick overview of the winery, and then directed guests to grab their complimentary glass in the tasting room or line up for dinner. Unfortunately, this is where the evening lost momentum. Dinner was a large, unorganized letdown: Caesar salad, pasta salad, pesto pasta, and a basic chicken breast. For a Valentine's event at this price point, it felt rushed and poorly coordinated. There was a clear missed opportunity here--not just in hospitality, but in wine sales and overall experience. With better planning, this could have been a standout pairing event. Imagine hosts circulating with plated Caesar salads while the trolley director engaged the room. Then a focused introduction to the wines as staff poured complimentary glasses or offered full bottles for purchase. A plated, coursed dinner paired intentionally with each wine would have elevated the entire night. The Sangiovese and Old Vine Zinfandel were decent with the chicken, but the lineup leaned heavily red. A red meat entrée--pot roast or meatloaf--would have matched the wine profile far better and created a stronger pairing experience. As it stood, the food felt disconnected from the wines. On a positive note, having the trolley return us safely to the hotel after an evening of wine tasting was a real benefit. Transportation was smooth and convenient, which matters on a night like this. Given the cost and the limited number of wineries visited, expectations were higher. The first stop delivered charm and engagement. The second had the ingredients to succeed but lacked organization and vision. With better execution, Three Steves could have easily doubled their bottle sales that night. Solid concept. We experienced three wonderful wineries starting at Las Positas vineyard, Concannon vineyards, and wrapped it up at Garre vineyard. So much fun!!! If you're debating this experience because it's a little pricey, I'm here to tell you that it's so worth it! It's a great introduction into the Livermore winery scene. Super fun to do with the girls or for other special occasions. The trolley is adorable! It's very clean, has A/C, and they provide you with water in between wineries. Our driver Kevin was the best. He was friendly and respectful. He kept us on time without making us feel rushed. Remember to bring cash to tip your driver :). You visit 3 wineries and have about an hour at each winery. It was a mix of indoor and outdoor tastings. My favorites were Concannon and Las Positas. Half of our party was vegetarian and they were both very accommodating. Both their grounds were so beautiful! Garre Vineyard was alright. It was our last stop and the tasting and grounds weren't as impressive overall. They do not accommodate to vegetarian and we were asked to scrape meat off some of the food...yikes. You don't get actual food per se but each winery has their own pre-prepared charcuterie for each guest that was more than enough for me. But, I can see how others may need a little more food for the amount of wine we drank lol. Huge plus, trolley guests get a discount on bottles. Definitely recommend this experience. read more

We went on the trolly Feb 22, 2026 and was picked up by the driver George who was FANTASTIC! Very personable and entertaining the entire day. We started at Garre wine room on their property and they were all set up for us with a set food/wine pairing. The wine was good, and the food was just ok. Blue Cheese mac and cheese was odd with the pairing and it tasted a little "refrigerated" and hard. George loaded us up and we headed off to Las Positas Vineyards. They presented us with a wine tower of glasses of pre-poured wine and a pamphlet with the wine and food pairings and let us taste how we choose to. They let us taste other wines off the "menu" and many purchases were made here! We then headed out again, George storing all our wine for us labeled and everything and we went to Del Valle. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside at tables ready for us. The food here was the best so far. Huge marks to the Smoked Leek & Potato Soup - Fantastic. Some of our guests even ordered food when we got there on top of the pairings. Customer service here was the best and very attentive. Such a fun birthday event! Livermore has so many lovely wineries to visit and this trolley gives you an opportunity to see at least 3 on a fun trolley ride. They do not encourage groups to get rowdy and I'd be lying if I said my girl gang didn't get a smidge rowdy, but as long as you don't disturb the other passengers, they are pretty easy going. The food tasting... differs at each winery. The first winery, Coconanan (sorry I can't spell), had some cheese and crackers but the next one had a strange plate with a single bite of pasta and ranch dressing salad ! In other words, expect amazing views and delicious wine but maybe eat a little bit first, because the food tasting is not going to really feed you. And drinking on an empty stomach is not the move unless you wanna end up face down in the grass! We went to three wineries on our tour. The tour driver was great, he spoke a little at each place we stopped. The music on the trolley was nice too. The driver gave us a small bottle of water after we boarded the trolley between stops. The food pairings were good at first and second stop but amazing at the last stop. This is our opinion though yours may vary depending on your taste buds. We personally our not fans of white wine but two wineries really had excellent Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. We bought three bottles of Cabernet, and one bottle of Merlot. Overall it was a very nice day trip and lasted just past 4 hours. With the price averaging $50 per person per winery I must say only our last stop seemed worth the price. It had the largest flight of wines with the largest pour in each glass. They even offered us the option to try others wines which we did try the Merlot and bought it. They also had the largest portion of food pairings. Holiday Lights of Livermore Tour: Just be sure you know what this event is. Some people really enjoy a raucous, party bus atmosphere. If that's you, this is probably a good bet - it started & ended approximately on time and did include the wine tasting and a bus tour of holiday lights, as advertised. Unfortunately, we were hoping for a fun, light-hearted way to feel the holiday spirit and see all the amazing decorated homes in Livermore. Unfortunately it was a raunchy, loud and regrettable experience. Many of the people on the bus seemed to be reliving their teenage house party days and the driver was encouraging it. We couldn't hear the holiday music over the shouts of some of the people regarding various body parts, a need to relieve themselves, and other very much non-holiday, feel good related behavior. While the decorations on the houses were amazing, the driver and his "maintenance guy" who just sat next to him drinking the entire ride didn't say anything to try and reduce the volume of the not-in-the-holiday-spirit noise and behavior and in fact encouraged it in some cases. We rented the Livermore Wine Trolley for our daughter's wedding this past weekend and it worked out great. We had looked into renting a limo but we're so glad we went with the trolley. They have a beautiful white trolley that holds 26 people so we were able to transport our bridal party as well as some family members plus photographers. Everyone loved riding on the trolley to and from the wedding ceremony and we got some great pictures. George our driver was the best! The other nice thing about using the trolley was the bride (and all of us in long dresses) could get in and out of it so easily. We just stepped on board and away we went. None of our dresses were wrinkled and we had plenty of room to move around. It was a wonderful day! Thank you Livermore Wine Trolley for making our day so special! Incredible experience! Worth, every penny, this is one of the best wine tours I've taken in California, let alone in Livermore. Me and my husband took the Sip & Savor Wine Pairing Tour - starting at Las Positas Vineyards. Our guide and driver Fernando was incredible, we stopped at three wineries, and every single winery gave us lots of wine and delicious bites. The first stop was at Las Positas Vineyard, where we got to experience a wine tree and a beautiful, charcuterie platter. They also offered us 20% off our wine purchases just for comingfrom the wine trolley! Our second stop was to Concannon winery where we sat in their barrel room and we had a little charcuterie box to go. We also had a 15% discount on wine purchases. The last stop was to Garre in a private tasting room. We were greeted with bubbly and the pourer was incredibly sweet, named Danielle! The wine trolley is completely enclosed so rain or shine, you can stay warm. Fernando passes out water between each stop and he also holds your wine in the front so you don't have to worry about holding it. For the ticket price, this was well worth it to have such a high-level of service, so much wine and food, discounts for wine purchases, safe transportation, and not to mention, they played some incredible music on the trolley! Sometimes you don't know what to expect since you are with other people you have never met before, but everyone was so nice! We met some really awesome people who we exchanged phone numbers with. We took the sip and savor trolley on Saturday, June 11th. We did the 11:15 a.m. and the first stop was Concannon vineyards. Nick, who was the host on site there was very knowledgeable in the history of wines and vineyards in the area. They had a nice little boxed pairing collection with nuts and cheeses and fruit. Second stop was at Garre vineyard. I forgot the lady's name who helped us but she was very high energy and very fun. She made that stop a blast. Their servings for the wine pairings were very beautifully presented on plates. 3rd and final stop was at Las Positas vineyard. This is the only one that was held indoors and was absolutely spectacular with the tower of wine flight and the absolutely spectacular pairing food presentation. Food was delicious. The general manager and chef gave a nice overview of the wines and the food and then you pair at your own pace. We were really happy this was the last stop because had it been the first, the others would have been a slight let down after seeing this even though we enjoyed all of them. From beginning to end, our trolley driver, Fernando made the trip fun and enjoyable with his humor and musical selections that had the whole trolley singing between vineyards and on the way back. His final song is truly a winner! He was our favorite part of the entire tour. Bottled water is handed out on the trolley between stops and they will hold all bottles that you buy at the vineyards until your final exit. My husband and I did their "Valentine's Romance Wine Tour" on the weekend before Valentine's Day. Their A-frames around the parking were helpful and the parked trolleys let us know we were in the right spot! :) We checked-in and were greeted with a delicious sparkling wine from Las Positas winery. It would become my favorite wine of the entire evening. We hadn't started boarding the trolley yet so my husband went up to ask in a very nice way, if he could get a little more of the sparkling while we waited. The guy at the check-in didn't say no but he also didn't say yes. I thought he would've been like, "yes absolutely!" (we're celebrating Valentines after all!) but he actually didn't say a word. I could tell he didn't want to pour my husband extra and very hesitantly did in a total mood. It was so awkward as he poured in silence and my husband still thanked him, because my husband is a polite human being. Like I said, it was delicious but his demeanor discouraged me from asking him for some more too. They had at least 4-5 bottles in the two ice chests so why be greedy with the wine from your customers who have paid almost $300 for the evening? They had plenty to share. Our driver George however was a ray of sunshine! He was always up for taking us pictures. He was so cheery on the drive. Actually, our trolley had a couple missing that we had to wait for so we couldn't leave just yet until all efforts were made to reach them. Someone joked that we should get more wine while we waited. George got off the trolley, went to the check-in tent and returned with a bottle of that sparkling wine and poured us all a little extra. That's the type of service I was expecting. Thank you George! The music choices were everything! George played the current hits and classics like "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies, one of my mom's favorite songs :) The trolley was a total vibe with George at the wheel! We were welcomed to wine upon arrival at Las Positas, however I was a little disappointed that we had to wait outside in the cold for 15 minutes b/c they were still setting up for us inside. I understand that the group before us had just left, so they would need to set up. But you would think they would have turned the heaters on for us while we waited. That wasn't the case so some of the people in our group went ahead and turned them on themselves. The tapas were tasty. The empanada was hot and fresh. The chef came around and we told him how much we enjoyed the empanada and he said it took him 6 months to get the empanadas right. Side note, I initially thought my menu was poorly printed b/c it was totally off center and the paper looked funny. But then my husband showed me his menu and the two fit together like a puzzle. We realized it was printed fine, but it was clearly cut in a rush with scissors. I couldn't help but laugh b/c we printed menus just like this for our wedding and was surprised they even set this out. I would've never given our venue a menu like that to be set for our guests - so some attention to detail and presentation lacked there. Our next stop was Longevity. We were greeted again with wine and a chocolate and had to wait outside again for them to set-up, about 10 minutes. No heaters this time :( This last stop involved 4 wine & chocolate pairings. The chocolates came from Gourmet Works of Pleasanton and I like that the trolley featured another local business to be part of the evening. I enjoyed the host's explanation of all the wines we tried. Of the 4 chocolates, my favorite was the espresso truffle. so delicious! We didn't want to stuff ourselves beforehand and be too full to enjoy the tapas. So we had a light dinner before heading to the trolley but that was our mistake b/c the tapas were pretty light. So my husband and I ended the night by going somewhere else for a burger and fries. Overall, I think I'd do the trolley again but during the day time so I could see the view. It was dark so we couldn't see the scenery on our way to Las Positas. read more
