Great option as my first time going wine tasting. The charter bus was amazing and very well priced. Everyone there was helpful, I believe I worked with Dean. Our driver was awesome and always on time. My only reason for knocking one star was that our last winery, I knew we were not going to have enough time to enjoy wine tasting, and expressed my concern with that. I was ensured that we were going to have enough time but we definitely needed at least an hour 30min. We ended up allotting an hour for the winery and 30min back home. It easily also took us 38min to get home so even if we did leave on time, we were not going to make it on time anyway. I ended up having to pay an extra hour which I felt that I was going into the plans needing to pay for it anyway. I do want to say we were booking a month out so we weren't working with a lot of options, it was just a tough pill to swallow Regardless, I do absolutely recommend eXtraordinary Tour services they were nothing shorrt of amazing. read more

I deliberated posting this review but I feel it's necessary so others won't fall victim to what my friends and family did. A few months ago I used the services for a wine day and all was set to be a memorable event, until........(ominous pause) 1.) the driver was late and somewhat dismissive of my obvious irritation 2.) the vehicle was dirty and seemed to be a tad "worn out" to put it mildly 3.) lack of knowledge 4.) The vehicle was hot. (Literal beads rolling) 5.) customer service seemed disorganized and pushy 6.) it took forever to get on the same page as the service rep as to the trip program. We did the Livermore Wine Country tour (who knew there was so much good wine in Livermore?) and it was a blast! Two of the three wineries - Mitchell Katz and Retzlaff - were absolutely amazing for us (McGrail wasn't quite our speed - it's a bit busy there). The provided lunch - sandwiches, chips, and cookies - was fine. We were in such beautiful places, and drinking so much good wine, that no one cared much about food. I would consider bringing a picnic next time. One of the best things about the tour was our driver, Jack, who is a truly sweet person. He made us feel absolutely taken care of all day. He even arranged for a cake for our birthday girl! Overall a really fun time, totally worth the money, and would definitely recommend. read more

We booked a tour bus for our guests at cost of $3600 (paid in full before the tour). Guests tipped them themselves and some complained about half of the tour was bogus. They provided half sandwich for each guest for lunch and was obviously not enough. They then opened extra wines for guests without telling us that would be extra charge. They gave the unfinished wine to us to bring home - 5 bottles opened, almost-full wines. In the end, regardless that we are unhappy with the services, out guests kindly tipped them individually. They came to us still ask for more tip and bad mouth of our guests ("as you know how they are, like most people, so cheap only tipping $5-$10") They took us $400 tip which we are going to get that back, in legal action if necessary. I'm curious how tips work in this company. I guess build it into your budget when researching & comparing for tours. Make sure you get clear understanding of what is for lunch and portion of it. $109 + 20% "mandatory tip" per person get a bus ride and half sandwich. Can you do batter then that else where? I removed my original review from my moms bday during Memorial Day weekend because I believed in second chances. He also asked me too remove my review (which was two stars but now he gets one). He promised to send my mom a gift basket. He never sent her a basket nor say thank you for removing the review ... so here was our bad experience We paid for a private tour... wasn't private. Our car/bus was only our party but we waited for 3 other buses he had been taking care of as well. We waited so long one time we honked the horn on the bus for him to hurry up. He promised my mom 4 wineries then said we didn't have time and could only make 3. We didn't have time because we had to tend to everyone else he promised private tours to as well. Lunch was ok, sandwiches were not enough for all of us. Plus we had to wait for him to serve 4 other groups before we got to eat. We waited so long we actually went and got our own wine glasses to pour our own wine while we wait in the hot sun without shade. We were required to pay an additional 27$ per person tip before we left for wine tasting ... not including the general 140 we paid. (Not worth it .... take the Livermore wine trolley, it's amazing and 100% better) Apparently the winery called and said they were missing glasses so While wine tasting he went through our bags and purses looking for wine glasses without our permission. Feeling Super violated at this point I had immense self control to wait for a yelp review. He returned whatever glasses he found. Never said anything to us or asked for the wine glasses, just went through our bags without asking. Save yourself disappointment and keep on searching for your wine tour. read more

Overall, I highly recommend this service. Dean was great at helping me with all the details and the van was comfortable and clean. He's accommodating and flexible, and hospitable. I would book again. A group of friends and I toured Castro Valley and Livermore Valley wineries. We chose to do a simple tasting at 5 wineries total and paid hourly for this service to take us around. From the beginning, Dean was my contact and was quick to respond to my inquiry via email. He was very transparent about the operation and gave me an idea of how the whole process would go - he even made the reservations for tastings at all the wineries. We only had a couple of wineries in mind, and he helped suggest other ones which we enjoyed. He obviously has been doing this for a while, so he has connections to most of the wineries and even has a good idea of exactly how your day will go. When he picked us up, I was happy to see the size of the van and how clean and comfortable it was. The van easily seated 13 people in the back, and there was 8 of us total. We were allowed to bring our own food which is great when you want to snack on something during the ride. Dean provided his own snacks and bubbly. He poured us all a glass as he told us our agenda for the day. The first winery in Castro valley was the best, and we ended up spending more time there than we thought. When you're having a lot of fun, it's easy to lose track of time. Dean helped us stay on schedule but was also extremely accommodating and flexible if we favored a place. It was great not having to worry about the details nor having to drive. The group had a lot of fun throughout the whole day, and we ended up staying out a lot longer than we thought. read more

First of all, this review is long overdue. We went on our wine tour a few months ago and had THE BEST time!!! I initially reached out to Extraordinary Tour Services with questions regarding a tour for our group of nine. We just wanted to have a nice girls day out so we thought a wine tasting tour would be perfect. They always responded in a timely manner and were extremely helpful in every way. They even accommodated our friends who had dietary restrictions. We went to 3 beautiful Livermore wineries that day - McGrail, Retzlaff, & Mitchell Katz. ETS made reservations for us at each one and our lovely driver, Joe, checked us in first at each stop before letting us out of the vehicle. We just walked right in and they sat us right away - no waiting! I should also quickly mention how awesome our driver Joe was. He made sure we had everything we needed at each stop and even offered to take group pictures of us before letting us know what time he'd be back to pick us up. Thanks Joe! They had a Mexican food company doing the lunch that day, which took place at Retzlaff. We had a reserved table outside underneath these big beautiful trees. It was such a perfect lunch! Reserved a 18 person shuttle bus for my 40th birthday. Everything from start to finish was fantastic. I worked with Dean and MaryAnn for the bulk of the planning process. We went to 4 different wineries in Livermore and arranged a pick up/drop off in Manteca because I wanted to make sure no one had to drive after. The sandwiches that we pre-selected were very good too. I was nice to have minimal planning involvement and just let them take over and choose where to go and what to do. Researching other vendors this responsibility would typically come to me, the planner. And the last thing I wanted to do on my birthday was stress about planning. We really enjoyed our Livermore valley wine tour. We had 4 people in our party. We visited the Wente winery were we did the cave tour. Next we went to Retzloff winery where besides our full flight wine tasting we had a serval item picnic lunch. We finished our third winery at Mitchell Katz winery for final full flight tasting. We not only enjoyed wine tasting at the three wineries. We also enjoyed our tour driver Steven. He shared a lot of historical information that was very interesting. Christina our tour guide from Wente also shared a lot of interesting historical information about the origins of the Wente vineyard. I do not drive because of my epilepsy and needed to attend a some personal business. The first thing I asked when I got into the car was if I could get a driver for a round trip for more than one destination? My driver was very courteous understanding completely my needs since the death of my spouse. So he made a couple stops for me and was compensated well for his car and his time. I will definitely use them again and make it a regular if this type of service is always available. It's very difficult for me to find trust. My spouse was law enforcement so I know of the dangers I face being disabled riding alone. read more

Horrible communication. Charged with out my consent and signed contract. This is my first negative yelp review, I am So disappointment. On 7/10/17 I reached out to get a quote for the all inclusive wine tour to Livermore. I was quoted by Dean $130 per person for 10 people, include transportation pick up and drop off, tastings at 3 wineries, and picnic lunch. Over the phone I consented to a $200 deposit charge to my credit card pending an email confirmation and contract to sign. On Monday 7/24/17 I called asking when I would get an email confirmation and Dean went over all the details again, over the phone but I still had not received a contract by end of day. On Thursday 7/27/17 I was charged for $1788 for who knows what!! I did not consent to this charge and yet to receive something in writing from Dean. I'm working on my cancelation and refund but felt the need and to warn Yelpers!!! This was not ok. I hope to get refunded asap. read more

Lunch was included and we did get it although the order was wrong. Reservations at the 3 wineries we did go to were NOT made so we did not have a reserved spot and the 3rd winery really didn't have a place for us but did accommodate. Our driver was a nice person but very hands off. She was on time and did get us to each winery without incident Would i recommend this tour company? No - it was the most frustrating and stressful reservation i have ever made. I was extremely disappointed with this tour company. When I first inquired about the services for my husband's birthday, Dean was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately once I paid the deposit I was forgotten about. I had to email and call multiple times to get my tour itinerary scheduled and confirmed, and I still didn't get it until 8pm the night before the tour. The tour itself was supposed to come with drinks and snacks for the ride... snacks were never offered and we only received one glass of champagne when boarding the bus. Also the "deli style" lunch provided was nothing more than sandwiches and a tub of potato salad from Safeway. Dean seemed distracted the entire day and scared my guests with his aggressive driving.
