Did a lot of research and decided their offering was the strongest and most respected product available. Ordered a pair online in late summer 2024. They were ready in late 2024, so in January 2025 I drove to their new location in Grass Valley to pick them up. Jerry was kind to set aside time to install them (for a fee similar to what shipping would have cost). Also picked up a differential skid plate at the same time - also installed by Jerry. Ordered 8 months ago with 8-12 week lead time. Going on 36 weeks now and Jerry refuses to answer the phone or reply to emails. What a joke. I've ordered from him years ago with no issue. Customer service has gone downhill and I wouldn't waste my time again. read more

I would give my experience ordering from Jerry a 0/10 if I could. It has been a very strange experience. first, i ordered in November 2024 using an advertised discount for black Friday. lead times were listed 12-16 weeks. totally cool. a few months to by and I email jerry asking for a status update as I had not received any notice since the original payment confirmation (full payment upfront). I called the shop and who I assumed to be Jerry answered the phone. when I gave my order number his demeanor changed and said there are several orders ahead of me. once again, cool. A couple more months go by (may 2025) and I call again asking for an update because I planned to pick up at the shop and he says the powder machine is down. once again, cool. no anticiapted date of repair apparently. finally, at the end of may 2025 I get an email that my rock rails have been moved to powder. Okay cool. JULY 2025 i email and he hasn't even started on powder and says there are still several orders ahead of me. same story as back in 2024. Not cool. At this point the communication and interactions I had with this business led me to feel extremely skeptic, despite my best effort to remain patient. I wanted to buy local and support a local business but this whole thing was weird. I asked for a refund which Jerry obliged. Were the rock rails ever "in production?" Doubtful. I ordered sliders for my 5th Gen 4Runner and man these things are so sexy. Ordering online was very straight forward. I just chose my options and the was told that it would be a 16-week lead time. Now the waiting begins. It ended up taking about 12 weeks and I was instructed to pick them up. Pick up was a seamless process too. Just pulled up and grabbed it and I was on my way. I was a little weirded out that there were no install instructions that I can easily find on the website, but once I got to installing the sliders, it was pretty clear why they didn't need any. It was a very straight forward process. I'm very happy with my Bamf sliders and can't wait to see what else they have going on. read more

Got a truck build that I selectively choose parts for. Anything that gets installed must to be quality. No exceptions. Minimalist thinking in mind. Buy it once. Supporting a local fabricator was also important to me. After all, the name itself claims the Bay Area! The real hook was the reputation BAMF has earned from customers. BAMF is about quality and design. So far, I've ordered cab mount plates and sliders. The sliders took 4 months on the turnaround. Given these were made to order, 100% true bolt-on, and powder coated the wait was reasonable. These aren't mass produced. Quality products! So when I bought my Tacoma in 2019, I told myself, no more mods. I'm past that stage and need to do better at saving my money. Who was I trying to kid? I decided I "needed" some rocker steps for my vertically challenged wife. And if I'm gonna get steps, why not just get sliders? Decided to support local here as the BAMF shop was relatively nearby about 30 minutes north of me. They are definitely a little more expensive than a lot of other places, but you get what you pay for here. Mines took about 6 weeks to build and went to go pick them up myself and saved on shipping, which was somewhat offset by these damn CA taxes. I got the bolt on flat zero degree sliders with the filler plate as it was a prerequisite from the wife in order for her to sign off on the purchase. The build quality was top notch and the welds (from a layman's perspective) was top notch. They plate was welded from the underside which I appreciated. They bolted on fairly easily but could have used an extra pair of hands. I'm glad I went with these as they have saved me a few times from all the dangerous rock crawling I do at Stoneridge Mall. What with the shopping carts and Prius doors and all. But seriously, great quality and worth the price and wait. read more

I have done business with Jerry Lee in the past ordering some custom items for my business. Weren't they $500 each previously? And his response: Jerry Lee via gmail.com 8:07 AM (1 hour ago) to me, Sinafea, Andrea, nicole, julie Now sure if that's a joke or not but there has bee a huge! increase over 100% on raw material from the import tariffs. This pricing is good for 24 hours steel pricing is going up nearly everyday. I did not appreciate his smart response so I wrote him back and said I didn't appreciate it and that a simple...increase in cost of raw materials would have been more than sufficient. He of course sent back another smart email. I would not recommend him. I am happy to share any other email exchanges. I think companies should do a better job of providing higher levels of customer service and explaining things more clearly since not everyone understand the nuisances of their business and what effects them. read more

I've been building a project car for about a year and a half and I try to do most fabrication and modification myself, however when I need a structural piece like a rear axle mount or some lower control arms welded up, I'm happy that Jerry and his team are around to help. I converted my steering from a steering box to rack and pinion and needed the steering column modified so that the ignition lock would engage the steering lock, and Jerry drilled it no problem and was happy to help even with such a small job. Jerry mounted my rear axle mounts onto my AE86 axle housing, welded some custom lower control arms and even helped me CNC cut some hockey puck sized 1/4 inch thick disc's for some custom motor mounts that I built. Newly opened, this shop does fabrication work with metal from off road trucks to custom projects for home. They also do powder coating which is a plus if you get them to build something. Prices are very good and they are helpful. I've had many parts for my truck built by them including: Rock Sliders, Differential Skid, Lower Control Arm Skid, Light Bar Mounts and Custom Shock Mounts. They currently carry products geared towards Toyota's but make parts for anything. I picked up an ECO grill insert from a friend who was trading in his Tacoma for a Tundra. It was missing a screw on the face of the grill. I looked everywhere and could not find any thing like it anywhere. It was driving me crazy because I wanted it to look right. I called BAMF and was fortunate enough to have Jerry tend to my call. I could tell the shop was very busy by the background sounds. I explained the situation and asked if I could purchase a couple of screws from him. Even though he knew that I hadn't purchased it new from him and even though his shop was jumping with activity, he took the time to throw a couple of screws in an envelope and mail it to me. I didn't get " I can't help you because you didn't buy it from us new. I didn't get "hey, can you call me back when I'm not quite so busy. (Which I would have understood). He just took care of his customer that was really never his customer. Oh and the Quality of the grill, fit , finish etc is excellent. I get compliments on it regularly. Thanks Jerry.
