Shawna was great with communication and walking me through the process as this was my first pregnancy and truly clueless on how it would all work out. Her instructions were clear and easy enough for my husband to take over as soon as it was go time! I did need to make sure my midwife and nurses knew I was keeping my placenta and they had me sign a form since it's considered hazardous. There's a restriction on how long it can remain in the hospital and which room it is allowed in. A couple days after she picked up the placenta at the hospital (i delivered at Oakland Hospital), she dropped off the pills at my house and that was it! 1 week postpartum right now! We delivered our babe on a Friday and received the pills on a Wednesday. It's the holiday season so they came a day late, but it was not a big deal. Shawna let me know the mailing updates, which was helpful! We delivered at 4:35am and I told Shawna at 6:50am. She responded before 8:30am and was at the hospital (east bay) less than 2 hours later.
