I recently completed an embryo banking cycle with Bay IVF. First, odds were against us as I have a low AFC for my age. I also have an extreme phobia of needles and didn't even think that IVF would be a possibility. My wife and I did our IVF here. Dr Polansky's consultation was helpful and factual. It gave us hope and an understanding that outcomes are beyond anybody's control. We required ICSI. A good lab matters. They had multiple treatment plans with different finances, which really helped. Dr Polansky and Megan guided us throughout the process and we had more than one cycles of IVF (retrieval, fertilization and transfers). Although we had our heartbreaks, we finally got our baby. The whole process at Bay IVF was very smooth, easy going and felt family like as opposed to a clinic. We enjoyed that. Along the way, we decided to not go for PGT testing. A lot of our myths were busted. Our highest graded embryos did not result in pregnancy while our lowest graded embryo gave us a beautiful healthy baby. This review is long overdue! It's all because of the success we experienced with Bay IVF! :) I'm 38 yrs old and have been going through secondary infertility for 5 years. Being a nurse myself I remember feeling lost as to what to do because I had my first child with no problems. I reached out to this clinic for an initial inquiry, but was declined because of my age (44 years old). I did not see their age limit requirement in the first place and I reached out because the doctor claimed to be very caring. It is perfectly fine that the doctor is not willing to or capable of helping women of advanced maternal age. But what is wrong is that he and his stuff just jumped on the conclusion that I no longer have viable eggs. What the heck?! I recently successfully made another a PGT-A tested ebryo using my own eggs at a reputable IVF clinic in the Bay Area and already have a good working IVF stim protocol. The only reason I am considering this BAY IVF Clinic is that they are cheaper than the other clinic I used, at only half of the price I pay for each cycle. All they need to tell me is that they have an age limit, but instead they chose to make reckless judgement on my fertility condition. You are free to pick easy case as you want, but it is wrong to try to persuade any patient by saying that " you do not have any biological viable eggs". Advanced age made it difficult for fertility. My husband and I were trying to conceive for 2 years and after 2 rounds of Clomid, 7 IUI's, and 1 miscarriage, we decided to try IVF. At first, there is just so much to learn and tons of research to do. Eventually we were deciding between two IVF facilities and our friend who was also undergoing treatment at Bay IVF suggested we try here. What a godsend that was! We made our consultation appointment and it was quite far out, I think we waited 2 months to be seen. But Erica was so good at coordinating our visits and sent me tons of info to look over while we waited for our appointment. We also had a list of recommendations to follow in the meantime regarding lifestyle, nutrition, and exercise. So while we waited, I changed my diet and was able to lose about 40lbs before our first visit. Then in October 2019 we met Dr. Polansky. Our initial consultation was a huge reality check and as he does not sugar coat anything and tells you exactly what he thinks, what your odds are of conceiving, and what to expect. I'll be honest, I completely broke down and cried during this visit, but we still listened and marched forward with his plan for us. We started our treatment with initial blood testing and ultrasounds and then came the meds and more blood work and ultrasounds. The staff is very accommodating with scheduling and they're always so nice and helpful and super patient when you have loads of questions. At the beginning of the pandemic i came here for a free consultation with dr polansky. I love the small office feel and how welcoming the staff was. At that point, I haven't been able to get pregnant for about 5 yrs and had gone through one full round of IVF at care for the Bay Area with no success. Dr polansky looked over my file and told me that I should accept to live my life without children. I was devastated and had an appointment with an endo specialist later that week and I had mentioned it to him. He doesn't believe in endometriosis, but more of a clean diet to get pregnant. Fast forward two years later with a laparoscopy surgery and a second round of IVF under my belt at another office, I can say I am a mother to a healthy baby boy. As we were looking to expand our family, we were heavily researching the option of family balancing as we had a daughter and wanted to add on a son to our unit. Dr. Polansky was very understand clear on what we were looking to accomplish here and set the realistic expectations of the entire process. Intially with the probabilities he presented, we were a bit concerned with the success rate. We started the process in August 2021 which entailed many injections and blood draws over the course of 10 months. It took two cycles to harvest 17 eggs (1 too old, 5 too young) which resulted in 11 embryos with 4 biopsied (3 normal, 1 missing chromosone). Out of the 2 male and 1 female, we elected to have one frozen embryo transferred. The entire sacrifice and commitment made by my wife paid off. By Christmas of 2022 we were blessed to have a successful delivery of a healthy 7.5 lb boy! This place makes dreams come true! The only hope that my husband and I had in having our own biological baby was through IVF. My husband had cancer twice in his twenties and had to bank his sperm. We waited months and months on Kaiser's wait list only to find out that based on the sperm cryopreservation report, we had to do IVF (IUI would not work) and that Kaiser does not perform/cover IVF. I asked the Nurse Practitioner I was working with if she could recommend private clinics for us to check out and Bay IVF was on that list. She mentioned that she personally knew someone who is/was receiving treatment from Bay IVF and really liked it. After going through so many positive Yelp reviews, learning that Bay IVF's pricing is very competitive for the Bay Area and that they are located not too far from where we live (our home is in San Jose), I made the call to get started. We had our initial consultation with Dr. Polansky in November of 2021. Based on an ultrasound/count of my antral follicles (I forget how many was counted), my age (I was 34 at the time, but turned 35 by the time we began treatment) and my AMH (1.73), Dr. Polansky gave us a 36-38% probability of live birth with 2 embryos transferred and 25-27% probability with 1 embryo transferred. In December of 2021, I did my first blood draw and although my results were good enough to start treatment, my results were unexpected and Dr. Polansky recommended repeating the blood draw the following month. To be honest, I started to spiral and worried that I was pre-menopausal and/or had extremely low ovarian reserve, but I kept the faith and just did my best to follow Bay IVF's nutrition/lifestyle recommendations the best I could. In January of 2022, I re-tested and my blood test results were much better (yay!) and we started treatment. I started ovarian stimulation in March of 2022. It's different for every woman, but this point in the treatment was pretty rough for me. I had some severe cramping that affected my sleep and I had to take Tylenol to fall back asleep. At one point, my husband and I were worried I might have a blood clot. However, it was so worth it because we ended up retrieving 7 eggs! 2 of the eggs were not mature/too young but the remaining 5 were fertilized via ICSI. Five days after egg retrieval, we did a fresh embryo transfer. We only had 1 embryo make it to blastocyst on day 5 so just that one embryo was transferred and Doctor Polansky gave us a 28% chance of live birth. We ended up cryopreserving 2 embryos on day 6 and the remaining 2 did not make it. 11 days after transfer, I went in to do the pregnancy test and it was positive, but my HCG was low...45. I went in for the test feeling 95% sure that we were NOT pregnant. I cheated and took at-home pregnancy tests before my test with Bay IVF and I was getting positives, but the positive line was so faint that I thought it was just picking up the medication still in my body. I do not advise doing this, it will drive you crazy! Three days later, I went in for a second pregnancy test and my HCG was 283 (they wanted it to be around 180). A month after our transfer, we went in for our heartbeat ultrasound and we were so nervous, but we got a heartbeat! ...and we got to see our baby for the first time :) It was definitely the highlight of this experience. It's still early in our pregnancy (7 weeks and 2 days), but we are now at the point where we move on to our regular OB-GYN. I didn't realize that my husband had already written a review here until I read his story and thought, "Huh - that sounds just like me!" See John D's review for more of our story. From the very beginning I felt comfortable with Bay IVF. This is saying something, because we'd just come off a poor experience with a different clinic, and I'd been highly resistant to IVF to begin with - I was terrified that it would be invasive and painful. Dr. Polansky didn't sugarcoat our chances (and here I have to correct my husband - he gave us a 5-6% chance in 2 cycles). But he was patient and kind, and he used the word "we" when describing our chances. As in, "We're in this together." That meant something to me. We decided to roll the dice and begin the process together. My husband and I followed the recommended diet, and I really believe that it helped. In fact, I'd already been eating a vegan and gluten-free diet for 4 months, and I believe that contributed to my initial follicle count (10), which was unusually high for a woman my age (43). Interestingly, a few months into treatment I attended an event with several OBGYNs (one of whom was going through IVF herself), and none had heard about the effects of diet on fertility. Due to COVID precautions (which they're very serious about), my husband was only allowed to join me for the big appointments. He asked me one day, "Do they still act all excited every time you show up?" I knew he was joking, but I replied, "You know what? They actually do!" I was most scared of the egg retrieval, but it was an oddly relaxing experience. On my arrival, they got me set up on the table and then let me take a nap for half an hour! I had plenty of time for the meds to kick in and mellow me out, and there was no pain. The procedure itself only takes a few minutes, but I was in there for an hour and a half - plenty of time to prepare and recover. I felt very calm, and again, very well cared for. We emerged with 4 embryos, but my levels had risen too high for a fresh transfer, so we had to freeze them and wait 8 weeks to implant. The embryo transfer literally took minutes, and I was able to return to my daily activities immediately. 9 days later I went in for a blood test... and that afternoon received the best phone call of my life. The whole staff was cheering in the background as Dr. Polansky gave us the news. Over the next 6 or 7 weeks the staff continued to take wonderful care of me as they weaned me off the meds and monitored our progress. I found Dr Polansky and his team few years back so this review is long overdue. During 2020 I started my journey into IVF with the chaos of Pandemic that began as soon as I was scheduled to do my egg retrieval. It was definitely a very emotional and challenging time however despite all that, the support I received from him and his entire team was phenomenal. I knew that my chances were really low but kept the hope up. During fertilization none of the embryos made it except 1. Despite that I kept going and even knowing I had a 11-15% chance for implementation, I knew miracles can happen. And fortunately it did! After 6 years of secondary fertility issue, I gave birth to my son who is now about to turn 3 years old. Dr Polansky does not sugarcoat or sweet talk you into things and i personally appreciated it. The IVF process is complex and requires frequent and timely communication with the clinic. Additionally, when making strategic decisions about what procedures to undergo, it is essential to have a trusting relationship with a doctor who will take the time to discuss everything. Finally, the process of IVF can be lengthy and painful--both physically and emotionally--and it is important to have a personal relationship with the staff to walk this journey with you, making every visit joyful, supporting you after failures, and celebrating successes. My wife and I first began IVF treatment at Reproductive Science Center (RSC), but we were unhappy with the experience. We had an off-site nurse assigned to us, whom we communicated with over the phone, and we had to update her following every appointment. The onsite nurses did not interact with patients, and we only met with the doctor once during the initial consultation, so we were strangers every time we went in. Despite already spending quite a bit, we decided to come to Bay IVF. Our experience at Bay IVF was exceptional. Dr. Polansky taught us what we needed to know to understand every critical decision that we made. Through our initial failures during the embryo transfer stage, he assured us with his deep technical knowledge and decades of experience. Our first pregnancy succeeded on the third transfer attempt, and our second pregnancy succeeded on the first attempt. The nurses and staff at Bay IVF were wonderful. I couldn't thank Doctor Polansky and his staffs enough for making my baby dream come true. My son is 3 months old now. I hope my review will help other couples (who are still struggling for trying to have a baby) will have the magical help from Dr Polansky. He is AMAZING. He also helped my sister for her daughter 8 years ago. With 100% trust, My husband and I decided to have the treatment with Dr Polansky even though my insurance covers 90% for IVF treatment with in network providers. My previous obstetrician referred me to an infertility Dr who did the ultrasound and told me everything was normal. Until I met Dr Polansky, he found out that I had many polyps and he recommended me a good Doctor to remove them before I started the IVF. Doctor Polansky is so kind, knowledgeable, and humble. My husband and I had been trying to conceive for 13 years with no luck...not one single pregnancy in all that time. I was diagnosed with PCOS about 10 years ago and since I was fairly young, I spent time trying to improve my health naturally, mainly through diet, exercise and other lifestyle changes. While I did see improvement to my overall health...there was still no baby. When I was finally ready to move forward with IVF, I researched several different IVF centers. Right from the start I want to say, if not because of Bay IVF I'd not even dare to imaging the joy and love I get to experience with the precious little boy I get to call my son. My husband and I had been trying since 2014, I kept believing if it is meant to be then I will bare with kids naturally. 3 years have gone by with no news... I first met Dr. Polansky in end of 2016 in Taiwan, we had a brief casual conversation but he did stress how important it is with age and urge me not to wait any longer. Well, I was still holding back but did decide to give IUI a try. In 2017 I did 2 IUI's and both failed. I started to question my body... Finally in early 2018 I gave Bay IVF a call. It was a big step for me. Julie and Minerva chatted with me on the phone and walked me through the journey I was about to have, they both talked to me like I am their friend and helped me cope with my fear. They also told me to go on their website, I then realized how much information there is on their website! It is very educational and useful. A month later I visited the clinic and did the pre-treatment check-ups then met with Dr. Polansky for the second time. Dr. Polansky showed me my test results then pointed where I was in the chart with the possibilities also explained what all the results, numbers, and rankings mean. So the treatment began. First they wanted my husband and I to follow healthy living style. We were to take vitamins, fish-oil, and Co-Q 10 everyday, then there is a guide of "do's and don's"; and a list of "eat's and to-avoid" to follow. Throughout the treatment, the whole nurse team was so supportive and on top of things. They are so good at following up and getting back to me with questions I have, or results I was waiting for. Every time I had to visit the clinic they greet me with my name and knew what was the reason for my visit. A couple months later, 12 eggs were retrieved, 8 were fertilized, and 2 became embryos. I elected to put both embryos in to increase my chances, but, it didn't work out... I was sad and frustrated and wasn't plan to do it again, but Dr. Polansky and his team were so supportive and encouraged me so much to just try again. So I did the treatment again in November. And right before Christmas I received the most joyful call from Bay IVF telling me I was pregnant, I still remember the whole team were on the phone cheering with me, and I was at the airport at the time and I screamed so loud! I gave birth to the most beautiful son this August. I cannot be more grateful to receive the treatment from Bay IVF and I am truly blessed to know Dr. Polansky, and the entire team. I understand that the clinic is trying to keep its success rate high by declining patients like ourselves. It doesn't change the fact that the clinic's policy is a disgusting example of ageism. Choosing the right partner for this endeavor is critical, as it is not only an emotional process, it also can be a long and confusing one. Having people who support you through it all is invaluable, and that's exactly what I found with this whole team. Our process had several unanticipated detours, some that took us to other doctors, but Dr. Polansky and team helped - and advocated for us - the whole way. The team is clearly experienced, as they anticipated our questions and many of our concerns and cautioned us about possible issues. I had a terrible experience with the dr here. He was heartless and told me some things that I have conformed with multiple other fertility clinics as NOT TRUE. His "bed side" (or in my case ultrasound side) manner was so bad and his delivery of "facts" was utterly unacceptable. After being told I had a 0% chance of having kids even with IVF from this quack I found a RE who helped fix the root cause and I now have two beautiful healthy children that were conceived naturally. The office staff on the other hand was amazing and did not charge me for my initial consult bc I had such a terrible experience and was crying too hard to communicate. read more

Busy with our Daily lives, we finally decided to start a family at the age of 34. I was under the impression that I am super healthy, fit, and conceiving won't be a problem, but that's when the reality hit me, and I was already 35 in no time without any luck of conceiving. I started my infertility treatment at Kaiser, and the Doctor ran several tests and told me it's an unexplained fertility issue. I started with my IUI treatments at Kaiser with two failed attempts amidst COVID. I got frustrated with their robotic process with no proper guidance, and I decided to take a break for a few months and started researching IVF. After going through every Yelp review and the explanation provided by Dr. Polonsky to every positive and negative review, my husband and I decided to reach out to BAY IVF. We got our consultation call from Dr. Polonsky, and we went for our first visit. He didn't rush at all and explained to us why IVF is right for us. In the end, he didn't give me any false hopes and told us the probability of us getting pregnant after doing an initial ultrasound. At the end of our visit, he said that we all can do is so much, but in the end it's a superpower that controls everything. Being a religious person myself, I felt good when he said that and decided to start my process. The first step was to start a healthy lifestyle, and the instructions we got from the Doctor made us realize how important good and clean food plays in a successful outcome. All the nurses involved in the process( Minerva, Iris, Erica, Julie) were super friendly and professional and made my visits so easy. Our first attempt didn't work out, but the Doctor told us that we don't need to have any downtime and try another transfer. Keeping complete faith in that superpower and Dr. Polonsky, we were successful in our second attempt, and the best part was when the Doctor and his whole team called and gave us the good news. I am now 13 weeks pregnant and still have one embryo safe and sound with Bay IVF Team. Dr. Polansky and his team are top notch when it comes to professionalism and overall care for their patients. My husband and I had been trying for well over a year so as expected, we went to Bay IVF with some pessimism and frustration. Right from the beginning, we had a very positive experience with Bay IVF. It was very easy to set up a consultation. And we didn't have to make multiple appointments to get our questions answered. Dr. Polansky was very forthcoming in terms of our odds for a successful pregnancy and he continued to be throughout the process. During our first appointment we were also able to speak to a counselor about the IVF process, what to expect, and other interventions to help with our chances (e.g., nutrition, supplements, habits to change). The nursing and administrative staff were all so amazing, warm and welcoming throughout the whole process. They were very thorough when it came to instructions regarding medications and appointments and whenever I had a question in between appointments, there was always someone readily available to answer them. Sincerely can't say enough positive things about our brief but incredibly impressive interaction with Dr. Polanksy. We had some questions about potential causes of miscarriages as we have had a couple in a row now and it gave us some concern. Other fertility centers required my wife to do an additional physical (which she just had somewhere else), and have a battery of tests run (which would cost over $500) just to speak with a doctor at their center. Dr. Polansky, on the other hand, had my wife do a brief intake meeting with one of his staff members and scheduled a free consultative call with us. He was like 5 minutes late for the call because he was with a patient and apologized profusely. Prior to the call he had taken the time to read all of the notes my wife had given his staff so he came prepared for this free discussion. Instead of trying to sell us anything, he spent our time together reassuring us using studies he was very familiar with why we had nothing to worry about and we should just keep trying. He listened to all of our questions, and before getting off the phone made sure we had no other questions. It was fantastic. If he took that much time for a free consultation over the phone, I can only imagine how great his care would be if you were his patient (and appreciated even more why he was late). While we hope we don't have to go see Dr. Polansky in person we feel confident he would take care of us and be straight forward and honest. I could not recommend him more given the sensitivity of the subject. read more
