This recommendation is long overdue. A few years ago, I received fertility acupuncture at Annie's (note: my account is under my husband's name). My OB-GYN had referred me, and at the time, I was determined to give everything my best shot - I wanted to try just once and make use of every resource available. I had such a wonderful experience. My IVF process went smoothly, and I was incredibly fortunate to have a baby girl on the first try. I suffered from nausea for 18 weeks during my last pregnancy. I first started getting treated by Amara during the worst of it (weeks 12-18). I highly recommend Amara if you're new to acupuncture. She used minimal needles (sometimes as little as 5-6 per treatment) and was very gentle. She's soft-spoken and her treatments reflect the same gentleness. While acupuncture didn't completely eliminate the nausea, I ALWAYS felt better right after the treatment. I felt more relaxed, less nauseated and was able to eat a full meal (and keep it down). I would say that the nausea/vomiting went down at least 40-50% for 1-2 days following treatment. For anyone who has experienced this before, ANY relief is amazing when you are always miserable... Even after the nausea decreased and eventually went away, I continued to get treatment throughout the pregnancy. Sometimes for back pain, sometimes for insomnia, and just general pregnancy support. The office has ample parking, a peaceful and calming environment and I love that I can book online at my own convenience. Any questions I emailed were addressed within a few days. They do take insurances, but unfortunately my policy did not cover Acupuncture. So I paid out of pocket (happily). read more

Annie is an intuitive, caring, and expert practitioner. Her office is spa-like! Comfortable and restoring, each room is equipped with warming pads and heat lamps to keep you cozy during rest. I forgot my own eye mask a couple of times, and Annie gave me an aromatherapy towel as a substitute. I have a chronic issue with my menses, which doctors could not treat (birth control changed my brain chemistry, IUD gave me intense migraines, and I was told to "just" get a hysterectomy, "no side effects" they said!). Annie has me feeling substantially improved within a couple of cycles, all without the rampant side-effects typical of Western treatments. This review is extremely long overdue. I first sought out Annie and her team back in 2017 when I switched jobs that required a bulk of my time in an office with a computer and desk, and mostly sedentary. As a result, I had developed some pretty nasty neck, shoulder, and wrist pain that even transitioning to more ergonomic office furniture and wrist guards did nothing, and resorted to taking pain medication to keep things in check. That's when I sought out a different way of dealing with the pain. For my initial consultation, I saw Annie and I loved the way she explained how acupuncture works in such a simple manner. Every session after that was/is heavenly. Initially, I went three times a week and the staff worked their expertise until I was coming in once a week. Even after the pain subsided, I still continued with it for "overall maintenance." Since my initial visit, I have been treated by Annie and her amazing staff through all of life's big changes (i.e. marriage, baby, changing jobs, COVID, etc.) What started as visits for pain management became visits for self-care for mind, body, and soul. When COVID hit and the state went into SIP, I assumed the office was closed indefinitely. When I finally realized it had reopened, I immediately booked my appointments and it was the self-care that I/we were deprived of for so long. That first session in COVID reminded me of the feeling after my first acupuncture session ever - that immense sense of balance and the physical, spiritual and mental relief from life's stressors exiting the body. Every acupuncturists in the office is so caring, understanding, and truly takes their time to listen to what is ailing you, and then adjusts the needles accordingly. I can't begin to describe how beginning my acupuncture journey with Annie Wang seven years ago was the best decision I've ever made. I was so stressed out and losing hope in becoming a mother. This review is for Annie and it is long overdue. I started seeing Annie at the advice of my obgyn more than six years ago after suffering three miscarriages. Annie's treatment was one of the main reasons why I as able to finally achieve a successful pregnancy. Fast forward to now, I was suffering terrible migraines for the past two years. No medicine has been successful to make the migraines and subsequent nausea go away. I decided to recently start seeing Annie again about two months ago. After the first visit, I did not suffer any migraines or nausea for the next week. I continued with weekly treatments and for the past two months, I have only suffered a mild migraine that lasted briefly over two days (just a couple hours each day); otherwise I have been migraine and nausea free!!! As an added bonus, she has also made my eczema go away and has improved my digestion tremendously. I started seeing Annie for fertility support and a big, flaky, and seemingly permanent eczema patch on my neck that would not go away with medicine. With Annie's help, I now have a delightful and energetic toddler and that nasty eczema patch is gone. LONG overdue review! Originally came to see Annie after several years of infertility treatments and IVF. I had changed to her practice after another great solo acupuncturist in San Carlos that was a 1 woman show, and just did not have good hours for fitting in acupuncture in my work schedule. Annie met me after 2 previously failed IVF transfers with high quality embryos, so I was struggling both emotionally and physically at that time. Despite all the loss, I really felt acupuncture care had been helping both my physical and mental health, so I started up with Annie for infertility support as I was gearing up for my 3rd transfer. Well... 3rd transfer stuck! We now have the most wonderful 17 month old little girl who is the light of our lives I really feel that working with Annie helped us to bring her into the world. Annie was really helpful in supporting me with acupuncture care and (fellow Mom advice) throughout the pregnancy. We even had some fun conversations about Chinese astrology, since I was working a lovely Chinese astrologer (The Modern Daoist) on timing my transfer, to give my 3rd transfer all the help it needed to stick. I ended up having significant nausea most of my pregnancy and I feel that treatment with acupuncture really helped my symptoms and also my anxiety about pregnancy after years of trying. In addition to being a skilled acupuncturist, Annie is just SO warm and knowledgeable about pregnancy AND infertility care. It was nice coming for treatments she would just know what stage we were in and how to support me. Everyone in the office is kind, the rooms are comfortable with pleasant music, heat lamps,blankets, for temperature regulation, etc. I also REALLY appreciate the online booking service, makes it way easier to fit treatments into my busy schedule. This review is very late but we have had our hands full thanks to Annie Wang and team. Me and my husband were diagnosed with unexplained infertility about 2 years ago. Our fertility doctor was ready to do an IUI asap but since my AMH levels were good she agreed to let me wait for a couple of months. I started my research and we were already doing everything by the book like eating right, exercising, ovulating on time, etc. I read about acupuncture and fertility and thought it was worth a shot. My first session with Annie was great she pointed out some areas where she thought the problem could be and recommended some herbs after a few sessions. I also remember a food chart was provided and we read some books that were recommended. I trusted Annie and team and we did everything that was suggested by them and surprise we got pregnant the following month. I saw Annie most of my pregnancy until covid struck and everything was closed. All the sessions were great and relaxing. Annie made sure that I was comfortable during every session. I think I used way too many pillows to support my back and growing belly. My husband saw Annie and Janine for a few months and had a very similar experience. This review has been long overdue. I have been going to Anne's for over 2 years, almost 3 years now. She has helped me with finding optimal health and been there the entire journey. She has addressed several health aliments - irregular menstrual periods, hay fever, back pain relief, headaches, pain from my bicycle accident (due to another cyclists running a stop sign). Annie is a true professional whose depth of knowledge and talent is something you get to benefit from first hand. I originally started seeing Annie back in 2007 for ulcer-related issues, adult acne, and a general downgrade of my health due to some very stressful life events. No doctor I had seen helped as much as Annie did - she continually helped me health improve to a point where I frankly didn't need that same specific treatment anymore. Interestingly, I had hurt my knee at the time, and I thought that it would be good to see her for a different topic to see if I might benefit from acupuncture in a different way. Up until the appointment, I couldn't walk down stairs because of the pain, so I hobbled down the stairs to go to the appointment. As soon as the treatment was done, I had no problem with my knee and was able to continue training for the marathon I was then training for. I am glad to have seen Annie after giving birth. As I had quite a traumatic birth experience, my milk supply suffered. I heard that acupuncture might help with lactation and decided to give it a go. Also, I was suffering from coccyx injury post delivery. I wasn't too sure about the treatment initially but after seeing Annie for a month or so I see great improvements! I got a recommendation from someone at my dance studio for acupuncture, so here I am! I'm very skittish of needles and has avoided acupuncture for quite a while, but got kind of desperate to deal with some pain relief. They have multiple acupuncturists working here, so there is a good availability in the schedule. I was able to come in at my preferred time on the weekend. My acupuncturist was very understanding of being new to acupuncture and feeling stressed out, so my first few sessions she went light on the needles and made sure to check on me to see if I was comfortable. They have a little button for you to hold in your hand if you decide that you have had enough and they will come in and pull out all the needles. Once you get over the whole needle thing, the experience is really not bad at all. A lot better than getting blood drawn or a flu shot. I really appreciated being made comfortable and having the heaters and blankets while I hung around for my treatment. I didn't have any weird blood spots of bruising that can happen with acupuncture, but your mileage my vary. read more
