Nothing but good things to say about my experience with this company and their staff. This is a family run company that really takes care of their customers. My parents have lived in their Hillsborough home for 40 years and have amassed a lot of unnecessary clutter and junk. It has gotten to the point that they can no longer take care of the mess. I came home to visit and made a quick decision to start the clean-up process but was unable to do this on my own. Searched yelp and found Bay Junk. Based on the excellent reviews I gave them a call. I was just in for the weekend so they were able to accommodate my needs and get me a next day appointment on a Sunday! The crew arrived arrived on time within the scheduled 1.5 hour window. We took a quick walkthrough and I was presented a very reasonable quote. Edgardo (Area Manager) was very professional and easy to work with. His crew was awesome and got straight to business. The job ended up being bigger than either of us had planned. We starting filling up one truck to the brim, and before I knew it, Edgardo had already brought a second truck to fill up. The most impressive thing was that I had an old shed in the yard that was rusted and collecting dust. They were able to demolish it and haul it away as well. The job took just over an hour and they stayed true to the initial quote. As if this weren't enough, they then went above and beyond and swept up my garage of the accumulated dust (and unfortunately some old rodent droppings) from the garage and swept the driveway of any debris that had fallen. I would give this service 10 stars if I could! I had lot of junk to get rid of - 1 large TV, 1 old sofa, love seat, 2 recliners, Dining Table , 6 chairs..pretty much most of the furniture at home along with some heavy workout equipments - 1 Life Fitness Gym size Treadmill, Life Fitness Stationary Bike, Miscellaneous workout equipments that we no longer use, power weights and other miscellaneous trash. I was really worried about the Treadmill as it was really heavy. Thanks to Edgardo , all the junk is now out of my house! He is a really nice guy - polite, pleasant and easy to deal with. It took him and his assistant almost an hour and a half to load all this stuff in their truck. There was lot of labor required to move the treadmill out of back room to the front of the house where the truck was parked. Edgardo and his guy did a fantastic job moving the heavy treadmill .. and he was very careful not to damage anything else in the process! 10 stars just for getting rid of all these heavy useless workout equipments that we no longer use. After he was done loading all the stuff, Edgardo even took some of the remaining small workout equipments from the garage for no additional cost. Thank you Edgardo! I called and set up an appointment for the next day. I sent photos of the items I needed dumped and was quoted a price of $300. When the workers came to pick up my items they immediately got on the telephone and began speaking in a foreign language with their manager. The manager then told me over the phone my hauling price was $685. I am a realtor getting a home ready for sale and needed to get rid of these items so I paid the higher amount. It seemed to me that I was taken advantage of. I later spoke to a family member who works in SF and has haulers dump lots of furniture and other items on a regular basis for her company. They pay $300 for large truckloads to be dumped. I will not use them again. read more
