Great atmosphere. Burgers were juicy, fries were delicious. Wait staff great and attentive.

This place is hit or miss, been here a bunch of times and slowly working through the menu. Service is usually very good, but have had a couple off nights where we kind felt forgotten about. Fish is generally VERY good, but I've also been served a couple over cooked dried out filets. I really enjoy their southwest egg rolls, but tried the Reuben egg rolls and found them to be mostly kraut, which was quite disappointing. Went on a Wednesday and that's their wing night, decided to try the boneless and that was a mistake, they were just hard little nuggets, likely not made in house. I mean if you're going to bother having wing night, and offer boneless, consider hand battering some strips of chicken or at least buy some decent length frozen strips, these were sad little McNugget imposters, glad they were on sale for wing night or I would've been upset, definitely not close to an equivalent bone-in wing. Their nacho plate is huge and recommend that based on the quantity of food. The all you can eat fish is good and the southwest egg-rolls are good. I imagine they can pull off a burger and the desserts have all been good. Not sure why they even attempt things like General Tsos, the good waitresses will steer you clear of that. They need to be a little less experimental, a smaller menu produced reliably would be better than stretching themselves into failures. As a customer you're advised to stay in more traditional territory. I love the vibe of this place and they have a nice patio out in the back, a decent beer selection, but I have had some of their weirder experimental drinks that just didn't come off right. I want to love this place completely, but they need to dial it in a bit and not offer so many things they can't really pull off. read more

Great service when entering the door. Very courteous waiter, menu handed out as soon you sit down at the table and asked if you need time to order. The atmosphere was nice with an outdoor band and play area for kids. We went later in the night for dinner with a large party on a Friday, so maybe that added to the rush, but the food took a very very long time. I was apprehensive that the appetizers would not be good but to my surprise, they turned out to be the best part of the meal. The pickle fries & southwest egg rolls were the best. Their ranch is SUPER good, which saved the meals. The cheese on the grilled cheese was not melted, the perch was not well flavored and the chicken sandwich was basically like a more expensive Wendy's chicken sandwich with 2 chicken tenders put on a bun. Really pleasantly surprised about this restaurant. We stopped in to eat and it's very clean with super polite and professional staff that makes you feel welcome. We ordered the lobster bisque and it's super delicious. Very creamy with lots of lobster. We also ordered a sampler plate with jalapeño poppers, fried pickles, fried mushrooms, mini tacos and cheese sticks. This cook is very good and all the food was cooked perfect and I noticed the homemade ranch and very good salsa. We also ordered homemade pork rinds so someone call 911. LOL This wonderful restaurant is right off big Lake Huron and nested in a quite little town with very friendly locals. We definitely will be back and try more food. read more

Loved the exterior of the building. The inside was not at all what we expected. Do not like the industrial look. The two biggest issues were the "admin fee" they automatically attach to the bill (how many people don't even pay attention to that hidden fee) and training a staff that has class Due to the admin fee, the tip became less. Please train your staff not to ask "do you want your change"? Very tacky considering the expectation of keeping said change would have been a 50% tip. read more

Food was good, service was great! The place lost its charm with the remodel. It used to have a great art-deco bar but had been replace with lots an aluminum sheet metal and black out paint. I'm hungry and up here we're the walleye fishing is good you have to make some sacrifices. The choices for places to go is limited and this was the closest place I found to the Sebewaing Marina. The service was really slow to start but the menu looked good and had lots of selections so I figured the food would make up for the service. I was wrong again. We had 5 of us in our fishing group and of the 5 selections we all chose 3 of them weren't available. We ended up having to go with pizza and wings. Wanted a BLT, Club Sandwich and a steak. We waited 45 minutes for the pizza and wings and unfortunately the taste wasn't very good. The place seems more like a hometown drinking place where the locals are taken care of before out of Town guests are. The place looks good from the outside but the inside looks dark and way out of date. Not very clean either. You win some and you lose some. I can't recommend this place. Better off getting fast food. read more

We were spending the weekend in Caseville and decided to take a drive to Bay Port. I'm not sure, but this might be the only restaurant in town. Anyways, it turned out to be a success! The odd thing was when we walked in and there was the main dining room where the bar, pool table and bartender are located. Then to the side is another room that might have been originally set up as a banquet room. When we walked in everyone was sitting in the main restaurant area and every seat except for one very small table was filled. I wasn't sure if the side banquet room was empty for a reason so I asked the waitress if we could sit in there. She responded rather strange like I should have automatically known that I could sit in there. Anyways, the rest of the meal went fine. I got the Sante Fe chicken sandwich with guacamole on a hoagie bun. My friend got a chicken, cheese and bacon sandwich on a hoagie bun with choice of sauce. He got it with blue cheese sauce and said the sandwich was delicious. My sandwich was delicious as well and the buns were very soft and fresh. The price of each sandwich was approximately $6 and was not huge but the perfect portion. I would definitely come here again maybe try the fish next time!! read more

We ran across the Bay Port Inn purely by accident and I'm glad we did the food and drinks were amazing. The staff was a treat, very friendly and hospitable! The building looked like it had undergone a renovation recently and was very nice, clean and welcoming. On top of all this just done the street from the Inn is a great spot to catch some awesome views of Lake Huron! I would definitely go back again and again! read more

We (husband and I) visited here on a whim as I was looking at YELP of course! The reviews on the food were great so we decided to try it out. This is a bar inside of an Inn. It's decently sized and more up-to-date than most bars in the Thumb of Michigan. The staff was nice and bar was clean with an enclosed seating area for Summer visitors. I had Cheddar Bacon Chicken with Honey Garlic sauce that gave it an Asian zing and the ranch wedges. I have no complaints on the food which was to be expected from the help of my Yelpers! We went to The Bay Port Inn for the Friday fish fry. We arrived at 6:50pm and waited for a table for our group of 6, the waitresses were very pleasant and attentive. After ordering we waited for over an hour for our food. We were asking the status on our fish dinner, and the owner of The Bay Port Inn came out. She was confrontational, defensive and snippy. Our party was satisfied with the updates that our waitresses had given us, but the owner felt the need to defend her establishment in a very contentious and abrasive manner. We tried to diffuse her rant several times without success, but she continued to harass us. Several of our party were long time local residents and she made disrespectful references to us being "tourists." We were all extremely surprised at her incredibly poor customer service and it ruined our evening. She informed us that she was going to make it up to us by giving our party 50% off our total bill but when the bill arrived, there was no discount. We paid full price without further comment. We will not be returning to The Bay Port Inn and will not recommend it to anyone, local or visiting. read more

Decided to give the Bayport inn a try with the new owner for the first time since re-launch. The wait staff was fantastic the waitress was super helpful and very friendly. Our meal came everything seemed pretty good. I opened my bake potato to find a rotten hole in it. No big deal potatoes have imperfections things don't always come out right ask for a new one, and received a replacement that appeared to be dug out and return to me. At the end of our meal not looking to get any type of reimbursement or anything else, only to make sure the manager knew so she could address the issue with the cook staff so that this doesn't happen again, I asked to speak to a manager. The girl told me she was the owner and I explained to her I was disappointed that my potato was dug out. She told me it wasn't and that she threw away my potato and this was a new one and insisted that she would go get the old one out of the trash to prove me wrong. I said it's not a big deal I just wanted to make sure because obviously you wouldn't want to cook digging out a potato instead of replacing it. Got our bill was getting ready to leave and the manager actually proceeded to bring over a baked potato that looks like mine to show me that she dug it out of the trash and that mine was a replacement. either way my potato didn't look tasty and very coincidental that The dugout spot was in the same spot of the imperfection on my previous potato. But the fact that the owner would prove me wrong and go dig it out of the trash is disgusting to me. No apology, just wanted to make sure that she knew she was right and I was wrong. Congratulations after 40 years of me coming to the Bayport inn I will never return again. And all the years of me recommending people to come there will now end as well. Luckily, we stopped in on a Friday when they were having the "All You Can Eat Fish Dinner" special. Apparently, you get 3 kinds of fish....perch, cod and white fish. You also get an all you can eat soup and salad bar along with some cake. Our service was wonderful. We had a great waitress who catered to our every whim. The fish was quite good. The perch was really great, the cod was very good as well. I'm not much of a fan of whtefish, but they cooked it very well. It wasn't all bogged down with excessive batter....it was light and tasty. The soup was decent as was the salad bar of which everything appeared to be homemade. This place is definitely worth a stop on a friday night, and the prices were well within reason. read more
