Super cute place. In town for the weekend and was hoping to find a good place for cocktails. I love places that make everything from scratch. Fresh juices and syrups. The menu was good, although my husband was hoping for better craft beer choices. I decided to try the Fireside in Valencia. I'm not huge on overly sweet cocktails . For me it was definitely on the sweet side. The Egg white added a creaminess to it however it was not as fluffy or thick as I'm used to. It kind of fell flat and could have been shaken more. I have been a fan of this place for at least 5 years now. I used to say (until tonight) they were the best and only place to get a really great drink (mixed drink) in Bay City with excellent presentation and taste and atmosphere to match. While you pay a little more for that than a typical bar it was well worth it. Sadly, I fear this place has gone beyond the brink of despair. I have never had staff respond with "I don't know I don't drink that" they "were" known for excellence typically and craft in what they provide. Even the plants (once well maintained and big and green all seasons) are half dead and sparse. Now limited drink offerings and poorly made. Coffee grounds in my espresso martini and let's not forget the 3 beans please (call me superstitious but they have meaning). I left there for the first time ever disappointed. I was desperate to find another place to get a well made drink. This was my place always. I landed at the Prost who previously I would have rated less than the Public House. My smile returned and my tastebuds were happy and mouth cleansed of the horrible drink at was once my place. I really hope the owner finds a way to turn this place around. read more

Their smoked wings are to 'die for'! Salads and burgers are really good. Pricing is a tad on the high side, and, while the ambiance is great, the interior is quite dark. Watch out for the potentially unsafe and uneven step outside the front door! read more

This was such a fun experience - they have yurts outside of the bar due to COVID. The streets around the bars are shut down so bars and restaurants can have extended outdoor drinking areas. Most bars had tents of some sort - but these guys went above and beyond with yurts! They're so cozy and do a great job blocking the wind! Service was great and drinks were delish! Pretty cool vibe this place has going on. Arrived on a Saturday night around 8ish and the place was packed. Enjoyed some hand crafted creative cocktails and also some great classic cocktails mixed well. The handcrafted cocktails range around $8 which is quite reasonable. They have a happy hour Monday - Friday from 4-6 on select cocktails for $6. They didn't have a great selection of bourbons, if you're into that. Tried the charcuterie board, it was good, nothing exceptional. I'm not sure how long this place has been open, but the service, atmosphere and cocktails all seem to be done right. Okay so if I could leave 6 stars, I would. Where do I even begin, I was impressed with everything. The aesthetic and atmosphere is super nice and the plant wall really adds a nice vibe to the room. The drinks are absolutely amazing and the bartenders here are clearly very experienced. Now, this morning, I tried their brunch and OMG that breakfast sandwich was the best breakfast sandwich of my life. I'm from the Ann Arbor area which is a food hub of Michigan and no breakfasts from there or around compares to the breakfast served here. The worst part of this weekend getaway will be leaving knowing I will not be able to order the exact same thing until my return. The tacos are definitely craft. Meaning excellent presentation, full of flavor, small and relatively expensive. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable about mixology and accommodating to bespoke cocktails. The caliber of a craft drink/food establishment one would find only in a major metropolitan area (and fairly rare there at that) which is why it's such a treat in Bay City. read more

We to the Public House this last Friday. It is a very hipster bar, so if you're into that thing it is a good place. This owner uses very fresh ingredients as well as their own signature cocktail menu. The drinks will range anywhere from about five dollars up until $20. The $20 cocktail is actually a cocktail for two so that is really not that pricey. Either way, I like to support local business and the owner is an excellent entrepreneur. Had a light supper and drinks with my husband. Drinks were wonderful as was the service. We ordered the papas bravas and caramelized broccoli, both of which were delish, though the broccoli was a bit undercooked for my taste. We also tried the tacos, which turned out to be the low point of an otherwise delightful meal. The shells (soft corn) were not fresh and had been grilled until they were hard and dry. Additionally, romesco was an odd flavor combo with carnitas and overpowered the almost flavorless pork. The beef tacos had much better flavor, but unfortunately had been cooked until the meat was mushy. Disappointing, but overall the rest of the meal and the tasty cocktails were good enough that we're likely to come back. We just won't be ordering the tacos. read more

Asked the bartender what appetizers were fast, and he stated the kitchen was totally free and should not matter. Ordered 3 appetizers for the table, received drinks 30 minutes later, 1 appetizer 15 minutes after this and the final appetizers a half an hour later...we spent a bunch of money with the worst service I have seen in quite some time. read more

This is my favorite place to get a drink. It's such a nice atmosphere; open, airy and music at the right level to enjoy, and still be able to carry a conversation. The drinks are very good, and the bartenders are able to make just about anything you can come up with. They are also able to accommodate those who are unable/choose not to imbibe with delicious "mocktails". This seems to be the best place to get your veggies as well. I've had a beet salad, roasted root vegetables, grilled broccoli, veggie tacos, and some other salad - all good, and you can feel better about that tasty drink. read more
