Come here any time in the day and it's not much better. A third rate grocery store, a thrift shop selling discarded goods for top dollar and a gym nobody ever heard about before. Why would anybody come here? Well, beside Sherwin Williams and the little bar that serves pizza no reason to besides EVgo. Turns out the best superchargers are the ones in the worst malls because they are always empty. The landing by Target is a more popular place - and I used to go the years ago before everybody started driving EVs. Not long ago I heard somebody pulling out a gun because somebody cut in line there. No worries here next to the research park. No lines no waiting no crazy people.

The largest one is on second floor where you can get dimsum and also Hong Kong Style dishes. We like to stop by to sit and relax and also get some roast pork and Char Siu from one of the restaurant. Not many places in Oakland chinatown where you can sit and relax. I think this is the one. it has library and also parking garage. the parking is $2 for 30 min. it is convenience and only about $1 more an hour compare to parking on the street.

Great concept to have convenient living. Parking garage is convenient for people visiting the area from a little ways away. A lot of China town is closed in the evenings - very early. After 5pm things are closed down. There were two police cars stationed around the Plaza. Very safe feeling. Good parking too. That felt extra safe - so much better than parking in the streets. Overall the place needs a little new life brought into it. Some reimagining and maybe new trendy stores.

It's centrally located for several businesses surrounded by places to eat and drink. The downside if you'd cal it that is there are some that hangout doing nothing all day, but usually keep to one side of the plaza. I've never seen them bother anyone, but they are always there.

The park is in ok shape - especially for Oakland standards - its not Disneyland and things aren't perfect but things are good enough to bring people together without problem. It could shine if it had some cleaning and more detail into the garden areas - but its all cost prohibitive especially for the city of Oakland - last I checked the city was broke and somebody just got $6,000,000 for hitting a pot hole - a record for the payout of a pothole. At night its a bit dark - I do like the multiple access points this park has to offer - it makes it more connected to the surrounding families and the community.
