Turns out, they were only temporary--and I didn't find out until they broke in August 2025. By then, I had already moved from Florida to Atlanta and spent a significant amount of money on what I thought was lasting dental work. I reached out to their office to discuss compensation but never heard back. The bridges were beyond repair, and I had to pay over $10,000 to have them replaced by Dr. Langston here in Georgia. Thankfully, he did an incredible job and gave me a smile that looks better than ever. If you're considering Advanced Dental Arts, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Us Veterans tend to get appointment dates confused. Happen all the time. I also took the day off to get the crown done. Your office had been calling me to get the root canal done which I had delayed because I had an issue last Sept when I was going the root canal. I did get the root canal as you asked. The young front desk lady said there was nothing she can do when I asked if they could squeeze me in to get the crown done. I asked if I can speak to the office manager and she said there was non-available. I then asked when will an office manager be back and she said no office manager would be back until Tuesday. There was no attempt to call anyone to try and help. I asked the young front desk lady to cancel the 19 June appointment as I would be out of town. I really believe that there were other options to offer instead of turning me down as I was already there, and the crown did would not take much to install.

In these photos, you see me getting dental work done--but what you don't see is everything it took to get here. The pain, the effort, the cost. Because let's be real--managing chronic illness is already expensive, and then you still have to keep up with everything else outside of your regular doctors. Thankfully, my teeth are in good health, and with things like Groupon, I'm able to afford to maintain that. But this right here? This is what strength looks like. Their attitude is that they know everything and the patient just has to pay whatever they say, no questions asked. I have been to their Lutz office years ago and never had this kind of issue, but something must have changed. At an earlier appointment Dr. Patel gave me a treatment plan that required me to pay 50% out of pocket. I told him I needed some time to think about it and would make an appointment later so I could research what he was suggesting. When I called back to schedule, I specifically asked for the filling and the standard cleaning that my insurance fully covers. They refused. Instead, they insisted I must pay for an unnecessary "deep cleaning" or they would not even schedule me for the basic annual cleaning included in my plan. When I asked Brittany to explain further, she put me on hold for less than a minute, came back, and simply repeated that they would not do the insurance-covered cleaning unless I agreed to the extra deep cleaning. That felt like pure greed, not patient care. This office clearly puts profits over patients. A doctor who doesn't listen to patient needs and staff who lack the courtesy to communicate properly are not worth anyone's time or money. When she got there they told her that since she didn't confirm the text on Saturday, that her appointment was canceled. Even thou they sent her a text this morning stating when she arrived for her appointment to wait in the car. Then we spoke to the assistant and manager and they refused to see her today. Also stated that the Dentist requested her to go to the ER beforehand to make sure she had no trauma to her face, since she fell. She didn't go because she just had a scrap under her nose and was in NO pain from the fall. I worked in Dentistry for many years and we've NEVER canceled a person appointment because they didn't confirm nor request they go to the ER before an appointment. Why should she acquire an ER bill when it's NOT warranted. My daughter took off work for this appointment and the least they could do is squeeze her in. I tell you customer service is out the window. I hope my experience is not the norm, I had an awful experience at New Tampa family dental…read more The experience started with me scheduling a routine cleaning over the phone and the receptionist taking down my insurance information. Over the next week I received two additional calls from New Tampa family dental asking for my insurance information because they kept failing to enter it into the computer correctly. Then a few days before my appointment I received a health questionnaire that I had to complete through my cell phone. At first this seemed like a typical dental questionnaire about allergies and previous surgeries. However, I was required to enter my insurance information a fourth time, upload pictures of my driver's license, and answer roughly 50 to 100 questions about my health history. On the day of the appointment I was asked to arrive 15 minutes early since I was a new patient. I was informed after arriving that showing up 15 minutes early was not necessary since I had already completed the excessively long health questionnaire. I then proceeded to wait in the waiting room for 20 minutes before being called back. Once the cleaning began I was informed that I would need to complete mandatory extra services that were not covered by insurance. When I questioned why these extra services were mandatory I was never provided with an adequate explanation. I have never had a cavity and dental cleanings have always been run-of-the-mill for me. When I refused to accept the extra services New Tampa family dental refused to treat me. I ended up walking out of my appointment without completing my routine cleaning. A few weeks later I went to a different dentist in Wesley Chapel and was faced with none of these mandatory extra services and received compliments on my oral hygiene. New Tampa family dental was an outlier in every interaction I had with them, and they were not an outlier in a positive direction.
