I've attended events here since 2013 as I lived in the Village. You can find conerts, zumba, yoga, etc all in the park. It's fun to bring the kids and let them run around. There is a lot of play space and open greenery. It's a beautiful park with trails connecting to the Papio. Very worth it to make a day of it and bring a blanket and enjoy the views.

We were able to take pictures with our family for Christmas cards featuring the greenery from the grass, bushes, and trees. This was a lovely space and I was happy it was very well kept!

This park is full of a huge variety of mature trees, which makes for good birdwatching and bug watching, slime mold watching, etc. There is also a playground here, a pavilion, a dog park, a frisbee golf course, and a lagoon. I think the children's pool and tennis center are still here as well, on the south edge of the park. There is a big greenhouse here for growing plants for the city parks but unfortunately it was severely damaged during an intense hail storm this summer. The park is fairly clean though some trash was piled up next to the trash cans since obviously they had not been emptied. Other than that, I don't have any complaints. A lot of Canada geese are sometimes by the lagoon, so if you're afraid of them, don't go over there. No worries! They are little hissing dinosaurs.

It is not a traditional trail park, but there are a lot of stairs to climbs, trails to stroll and picnic sites to eat. There is a park at the top of one peak that is great for kids and adults alike. If you're looking to get out of the house during a quarantine, check this park out. Trail heads are found all over and there is enough to do at a social distance. Dewey Park is where it's at! It's 100% high quality turf, small/big dog separated...water feature, poopy bags included, and some fun activities on both sides. Plenty of water bowls too. For the two legged parents, there are great benches with big umbrellas...almost always 1/2 of them in shade depending on the time of day. I've only met a few fellow owners, but every one I meet is nice! Bring a book, Bring a Sandwich, and BYOD...or else it's weird if you don't bring a dog. The new and improved River Front is a neat little area in downtown Omaha, with lots to do and see,…read moreespecially since it encompasses Heartland of America Park, Lewis and Clark Landing, and the Gene Leahy Mall! There are always fun things happening here, like festivals, farmer's markets, music events, food trucks, and holiday celebrations like the lighting of the trees in Gene Leahy each year. There is a skate ribbon, lots of public art like sculptures and landscaping, and a discovery/playground area for younger kids. The River Front actually also includes the Kiewit Luminarium Museum which is SO fun for adults and kids of all ages. The gorgeous bridges of the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge and the Farnam Pier are super cool spots to check out if you want to see the Missouri River in all its action below you. One thing I really appreciate, though, on these bridges is that there are signs about suicide prevention and how to get help, with contact information included. The River Front is great for families, couples, kids, and anyone else who enjoys the outdoors!

Whether I'm reading a book by the water, taking my kid to the park or just taking a walk with my family when they visit in town. I always come to the river front for a good and safe atmosphere. Currently the parking is crazy due to the construction the parking for the park is non existent so finding somewhere to park especially on the weekend can be frustrating. I recommend going earlier in the day for convenience.
