I booked a hot tub suite at Baymont. I can't begin to tell you how strongly I would urge anyone to go elsewhere. The room wasn't cheap, and I simply expect better from any hotel that's part of the Wyndham group. Okay, let's talk location. One of the things the maps won't tell you is that the hotel is in a mini construction zone, nestled between two different adult stores offering peep shows, and a massage parlor that, I suspect, offers some off menu services. Entering my suite, I was shocked to see that it was only a slightly larger room. There was nothing suite about it. The hot tub is located in a little nook, between the bed and toilet. Its separated from each by a semi transparent shower curtain. This also means that if you're laying in bed -- especially if it's dark and the bathroom is lit -- you have an amazing show to watch. Hotels seldom offer much bathroom privacy, but this is INSANE. The toilet is literally 10-feet from the bed, separated by a $&!(!&@ curtain. And, if you use the hot tub, relax with your head next to the toilet. Ahhhh, aromatherapy indeed. To add to the negatives of the hot tub suite, the hotel's water pressure is about equal to my bladder upon realising I'm next to the bed -- barely a dribble. There was a mass of curly, tangled hairs on the intake, and a few others over the side of the tub. The bathroom in the lobby, directly across from the lounge, was closed our entire stay. In the hallway, across from out room, was a trash can full of rotting trash that could be smelled from every part of the hall, and the room. The bar turns into a breakfast buffet. They literally just toss those steel buffet containers on the bar. The tables were sticky, and I ... I just couldn't. We went to Duck Donuts down the street. read more

The hotel was nice and the front desk reception area were friendly, courteous and welcome. However; Lindsay who works as a barmaid/waitress at the Lounge is one of the rudest, incompetent and obnoxious individuals I ever came across. Me and my party decided to leave before I had to confront her in the way she deserved. The Lounge definitely needs to replace this person with someone who fits in with the hotel and patrons instead of someone who thinks she's above serving. They lost our business for the rest of our stay and I am very sure we were not the only ones. read more

Stayed here for one night. Check-in was quick, and we were hauling a boat, so we had to use their trailer parking. The fact there was complimentary parking for guests and trailers was a great bonus. Our room was clean, and the a/c came up to temp in a decent time frame. Not a bad hotel overall, but I don't recommend the jacuzzi suite since it's in the middle of the room and there's no wall separating the toilet room from the bedroom, just a curtain. And the tub jets are a bit corroded and gets the rug wet around it when used as a shower. It's also quite slippery and should only safely be used as a bath. There is a hot tub in the pool area if you need to relax instead. The front staff is really nice and accommodating and we were checked in in no time. I appreciated that he just pointed to our room number and didn't say it out loud for safety of others overhearing. You are also given a one free drink coupon upon check-in for the stay, not one per night or per person, but it's a nice gesture anyways. Breakfast is waffles, cereal, and yogurt. There's hot food (and fruit) at the bar but bland and not worth it. You need to know to walk to the other room to get it though since I thought we just were too late for the whole spread. Waffles are a treat though so it was good. The restaurant on site has great burgers and drinks at night with cheap drinks from 4-6. There are two propane fire pits outside but we didn't get to enjoy them since almost everyone out there was smoking around them. One should be designated as smoke free in my opinion. There's also a small play structure with a slide and cornhole. It could be a nice place to hang out with your family and you can eat restaurant food out there as well. The rooms are humid and peeling and the sink does spray liquid behind it. There is a high pitched hum in our room and down the hallway that was annoying but not a deal breaker. Baymont is an okay motel. First time staying in facility of this brand. There is a pool and hot tub, but it's not as glorious as the stock photos portray. My kids had a great time swimming till 9:30pm (past bedtime!). Pool towels are available for sign out from the desk. Staff say people steal them for local water parks. It was too cold to be outside, but there is a small playground thing behind the pool. Also a patio with overhead string lights. Could be a nice hangout spot if it were warmer. There is a lounge/bar in the building. We saw some folks get food from there. Not busy. Rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. Our room had vinyl flooring instead of carpeting, which I preferred. The decor was acceptable. The receptionist gave us a room near the pool, but said the room bathroom mirror was funky. (Ok no big deal). Although the room was remodeled, the bathroom wasn't yet. Strange chemical smell. We didn't hang out in there. There was plenty of HOT water for bathing. Shower pressure was fair because the tub spout diverted was faulty. Breakfast was partially at the breakfast area. The hot food is served to you at the bar, perhaps so people don't taint the food, or take it all. I do like seeing staff make a fresh pot of coffee for customers every 20 minutes! Breakfast food here is okay. For $90, this is worth it. Not the most comfortable but definitely not grossed out. Best I can say is - they're trying. Chapter 2 - whirlpool room warning! My most positive comment is that we saw many employees around and all were friendly. It's odd that most were in street clothes, not uniforms. It looked like a guest was collecting trash and sweeping. Our room was reasonably clean but only partially renovated with quite a few years, clearly. Furniture was nice & new looking but the bathroom was pretty rough. It looked like a 1980's first timer diy job. We booked the whirlpool tub room specifically for a treat. THE BATHROOM HAS NO WALLS AND IS OPEN TO THE REST OF THE ROOM. I don't know who decided that thin white shower curtains are enough privacy but let me tell you - even approaching 23 years of marriage, we prefer to not poop while in the same room together. . The original bathroom door is still there. It's hideously worn/damaged, has different color knobs on each side, cannot be opened the whole way as it hits the toilet (which means you have to squeeze between the counter and toilet to get out of the way of the door to move), and is entirely pointless since there's still no wall on the other side. Add insult to injury - the whirlpool tub leaked the water out quickly, and when we tried using the jets (scary to turn that ancient dial) the jets just shot water up out of the tub all over the place. Hysterical for a few minutes, but we did not have our lovely soak we had been looking forward to. Another plus was breakfast. It's a weird setup with the foods split between 2 areas of the lounge, and strange to have to have the bartender serve you eggs from behind the bar (you can't even see what foods are there because they're in the large metal servers usually put out for self service) but it was very nice having a hot breakfast included. You could also do diy waffles and choose cereals, bagels, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc. I also really appreciated the filtered drinking water machine in the lobby. I would probably stay here again if I needed a simply sleep spot on a roadtrip but I would look for a cheaper, regular room with a normal bathroom. read more

The convenience of the bar/restaurant, happy hour in this hotel and the nice outdoor area is warranting 4 stars. Which would of been 2 stars after I checked into my room (6 hours drive, humid) only to find a huge yellow tractor out my window. I approached the front desk and asked the woman if the tractor would be out there my whole 3 night stay, she replied yes. Needless to say I then said well don't you have another room? Apparently she felt as if I should of sung the question and she snidely said "only if you ask nice". So I gave her one choice... a new room and was sure to get her name from other staff. As I headed down the hallway to retrieve my stuff and my pet from the tractor room only to move to another room, she (Georgia) yelled down the hallway "you can complain about me all you want!" This is probably one of the worst hotels I've stayed at. We had to switch rooms THREE times. The first room had stains on the sheets and MOLD on the ceiling of the bathroom. Second room had hair, stain on the sheets and and awful cigarette smell. Finally the third room was "okay" but when removing the sheet at the end of the bed there was another STAIN and not to mention MOLD on the picture frame on the wall. Mold on the ceiling. The hot water would not get hot. We had it running for 5 minutes on both the sink and shower until it even became luke warm. We have a baby and had no other choice but to stay since our money is non-refundable. Never EVER would i recommend anyone to stay here. So disgusting. Goodafternoon, I spent this past weekend here at the Baymont Hotel with my german shepard and there was this staff member that worked overnight , he was very unwelcoming and rude with his gestures when he was checking us in. He asked rudely if my dog was friendly and it made me super anxious because my dog was super friendly the whole time we spent here and he responded to us saying " We will see" like if he was threatening us. I felt so unwelcomed here and never thought someone would be so rude to the customers here. Besides that the hotel was great. I just wish that staff member who works overnight is more approachable and respectful because I was ready to leave and go to another dog friendly hotel. read more

We stayed at Baymont Inn & Suites for a night during our ski trip to Camelback Ski Resort, which was 15 minutes away. It was a decent hotel and a little on the pricey side, but I still enjoyed my stay here. Our room, #154, had two queen beds, table with two chairs, flat screen TV, microwave, and mini fridge. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. TV, free wifi, and showers worked fine. The complimentary breakfast, which runs from 6:30-9:30 am is pretty decent. There was scrambled eggs, hash brown, sausage patties, cereal, muffins, toast and bagels, fruit, and yogurt. You can even make your own waffles. I only saw one elevator, but there are only two floors so taking the stairs wasn't an issue. There is an indoor pool and whirlpool, which closes at 10pm. The pool is a decent size. Both pools need an upgrade. Also, there were a lot of kids playing in it. There is also a lounge, if you need a quick drink. read more

We spent the weekend at Baymont to go snow tubing nearby. The hotel is somewhat dated and the rugs could use a cleaning but the front desk employees were friendly. There are sanitation stations posted in the lobby and surrounding areas including the elevators and restaurant. Our room was big enough for the king sized bed. Again it was a little dated but the bed was comfortable. The major problem was with the hot water in the bathroom, basically there wasn't any. The shower water would stop if you put the level all the way to hot. It would get a little warmer if you turned it to colder but it only became tepid. We notified the front desk on two occasions and I personally went to the desk on another occasion. We were told that they would send someone to our room to check but no one showed up. We were also told that the reason was that the hotel was fully booked and to try at another time, which we did without success. On the plus side the food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced. As we were checking out we noticed that they employees who were clean the rooms removed all the linens from the bed including the pillows that were placed in hampers. It was nice to see all of the items taken. It's not the best but by far not the worst. I would have given it a 2.5 rating because of the lack of hot water but bumped it to a 3 because of the COVID precautions that they have taken .. read more

I booked this place for a local soccer tournament, this was the closet available hotel I could get. The pictures on the website are very deceiving! My family checked in, there were two very nice women at the front desk but it took a LONG time to check in. We eventually got our room keys and went up to our " room". The key cards didn't work, ok that happens so I went back down and told the ladies at the front desk. I received new key cards and went back upstairs and the new key cards opened the room. The room was occupied by another family already, my family went back down stairs again and told these ladies about our experience so far. The ladies didn't react like this was a problem, what if my family walked into the room and my child saw something he shouldn't of. The front desk gave us a new room and we went to our new room, the hallway smelled like raw sewage. My family couldn't deal with the smell so we went to our soccer game three hours early just so we didn't have to deal with the terrible smell. We arrived back at the hotel late (around 8:45ish). The boys wanted to go on the pool before laying down, we had to sign out pool towels. We entered the pool area and older kids had the lifeguard ring and was floating on it and the other kids were using the rope as a lasso. I was afraid these kids were going to hurt someone, I went to the desk and the two men that were there said they would take care of it. Fifteen minutes later I removed the ring from the pool because I didn't want to be hit. We went to our room finally and the smell was mild compared to earlier, but our pillows had blood stains; long hairs and other stains on them. I went to the front desk and spoke to John, I explained my whole experience with this hotel. ( there was another family down there unsatisfied With there stay too) John was very sarcastic. I was told there was no manager on duty and Jill the manager would be back tomorrow. I told John I was going to call Wyndham and write and review. His response was " you do what you need to do". John was very rude and tried to belittle me. I walked away because I was getting mad and things would of escalated If I didn't keep a cool head $200 a night , I felt like I was robbed. read more

We stayed here because our power was out for three days. The good *It was pretty clean inside the room. It was not The Grand Floridian but I didn't feel like I didn't want to sleep in the bed! *It is close to quite a few restaurants and Giant foods is up the road. *It had a small heated indoor pool and they actually supplied pool towels *Each room has a safe and a small fridge. *They have a free breakfast, cereal and waffles and bagels were fine. The not so good *They offer smoking rooms so everything smells like smoke. Some halls are unbearable while others you just smell old cigarettes. *No hot water. I had only the hot on all the way and I got about 2 minutes of warm water it then turned very cold. Cold enough to take away my breath. I called and they said I needed to let it run. Most hotels have hot water on demand. *They have a free breakfast. The eggs and potatoes were not edible. They had sausage but I'm not a meat eater. Good/bad You can bring your pet. This is great if you are bringing your pet and not so great if you are not. There are dogs in the halls and barking. Also not everyone bathes their animals as often as they should. My fiancé and I are both physically disabled and 2 of the 3 nights we stayed, I had to walk from The furthest room (100) all the way up front to get the room cards reconfigured because they didn't work. We had them in a plastic sleeve in our pockets not near other cards or cell phones because we have had the happen once before. I understand that the employees can't control this, however they control their attitudes and behavior. They made no apologies other than "well, we can't control that." I wanted to love this place because it was reasonably priced in a prime location right in the heart of everything and it's pet friendly which makes it so much easier for us to travel, but the overall cleanliness of the room and premises will prevent me from coming back in the future. The side entrance to the hotel right by our room had an overflowing garbage pail blocking the doorway and broken glass so I couldn't let my dogs in that way. The door was also broken so anyone could come in at anytime which made us feel unsafe. We called the front desk to have someone come empty the garbage and clean the broken glass which they did promptly. The hallway smelt like pot, but the hotel claims to be 100% smoke-free which wasn't the case. The room was ok at best, but I wasn't expecting a Ritz Carlton for a pet-friendly, budget-friendly weekend trip in the Poconos. The room had a foul, musty odor the entire stay. The bathroom on the other hand was absolutely disgusting. The tub was unusable as the faucet was so badly rusted, it chipped as you turned it on and little specks of rust would fill come out; I was not about to put my baby in that bathtub! There was a pubic hair in the drain too so when my husband went to shower he said he would have felt cleaner not showering. Mold was throughout the caulking along the rim of the tub and the wallpaper on the walls was outdated and peeling. It's such a shame because like I said the location is ideal and perfect but honestly your experience better off spending your money elsewhere even if you have to pay more and/or sacrifice not being right in the heart of town. read more

Just completed a 5 day stay here. A few comments. Five stars for staff-front desk, housekeeping, breakfast area...even the Lounge-food, staff, pool...and a big TV. Now to a few problem areas that take my 5 stars to barely 4. King room was very small, too much furniture for that small a room. With 2 small yorkies and a 3yr old barely enough room to move around. Within 5 minutes my daughters throat was bothering her so I started to inspect closer. Found an overwelminfo amount of mold on every surface. The sides of the wooden furniture looked like a damn fungi growth lab. I immediately packed up and we went to the desk only to be told that we unfortunately could not be refunded due to the system already processing the payment, are you serious?! Stayed two nights , bar is great especially there bartenders, they don't make the drinks strong they make their drinks flavorful so it's enjoyable to drink not strong that I have to struggle to drink and get so twisted fast. The pool is quite cold but hot tub is amazing my little one loves the hot tub there's great games outside to play and super clean environment and music is always bumping! Definitely not bad for the price. Bathroom was very clean from what I can see. The beds were made well, and the air conditioning unit works. There is also a wall Heater unit in a separate living room with a couch (pullout bed as well) and a TV. The TV is poor quality like all budget hotels. And the channel selection is limited like always. Pull out isnt the comfiest couch, but what pull outs are? So overall im happy. It's a good place. Definitely will come here again if I'm up in the Poconos in the future. Things up. PS... Anyone who believes in spirits. In room 220 I put my ski hat down. Now it's lost and I can't find it. Gouging customers with a $35 dollar early check-in when rooms are ready is not good business practice. Shannon, the manager was very rude when we pointed out that on the website it says there is only a $25 fee to check in before noon. She insisted that we pay $35 to check in at 12:30pm. We refused to pay this garbage attempt to squeeze a few extra bucks out of guests, so we were forced to get dressed for a wedding in the small bathroom off the lobby. Gouging customers, then being rude to them when they point out the contradicting information on the website is apparently their idea of "hospitality" Avoid if you can. read more

Perfectly good 2-star hotel, but the facilities are completely outclassed by the service. We were forced off the highway by rain (thank you Hurricane Henri) and road closures and managed to make it to the Baymont to spend the night. After about 45 minutes, we had to evacuate our room due to the creek behind the property overflowing and we were quickly moved into a 2nd floor room. Despite more than a foot of water on the front floor, the staff worked nonstop through the night to help people get moved to other hotels and set up beds in the second floor hallways for the people whose cars were trapped by the flooding. As I read through other reviews, it is obvious that this hotel has gone way downhill over the past few years. I unexpectedly needed to stop somewhere for the night and found this place off of I-80. As others have said, the one good thing, the staff were very friendly. But, the rest is all negative -the smell in the room is almost indescribable....musty...and the feel in the room is sticky...I thought it was a non-smoking place but part of that musty smell is definitely cigarette smoke. The carpet felt damp and everything seemed gross. The bathroom seemed fairly clean but needs to be completely updated. Stains all around. I had gotten in late and really just needed to sleep..while getting my things organized in the morning, I found an earring, not mine, under the fabric that sits at the bottom of the bed...ughhhhhhhhhhhhh I wonder why there's been such a deterioration? If you're looking for a family friendly hotel look else where. Booked a hotel online received an email confirmation as well as a check in email the same day as our reservation only to get there and get told our reservation was cancelled due to non payment. How is that possible if I have a confirmation email as well as a check in email? They canceled our booking with no call or warning due to my card being "declined" my card was declined but I have a booking confirmation?? So they offer us another room and charge us more then we originally booked which whatever at this point. I lost my card and have a temporary card which they told me they could not use since it didn't have a name on it. My boyfriend tried to use his card but due to us traveling to this hotel and not being in our home state his card was not releasing the funds. You would think after the trouble of us traveling (with a 4 year old mind you) with a mess up on there systems end, no phone call letting us know they cancelled our original booking and now with us in a mess with these cards they would've tried to help and just ran my damn card (which I could've proven was mine through my bank app) when I asked the front desk girl named Stephanie for a manager a supervisor a phone number anything that can help me they told there was nothing they could do for me. No manager no phone number I had to GOOGLE IT TO GET ANYWHERE. I got the managers name from a plaque on the wall they did lot even offer me that information. The first night we had Luke warm water and didn't want to complain, the second night, it was ice cold so we asked the front desk staff member to help. He couldn't figure it out either and said this "hasn't happened to anyone else". He allowed us to use the shower next door, but that wasn't hot either. My mom, sister and I all had to go up and the gentleman said he couldn't do anything and had to wait for the GM, Jill in the morning. In the morning, I overheard another gentleman complaining of the same situation because he didn't have warm water either. The front desk woman said she "didn't know when Jill would be in" and only when I asked if the woman who came in was Jill did she oblige by telling me it was her. Then, Jill tried to negotiate only 25% off the two nights and said I "should have complained earlier". Finally, after about 20 minutes, I got my refund for the one night. Their sign states if they don't fix the problem, they will give you a night free and all Jill did was balk at how "everyone asks for a free night". I'm not one to complain usually, but this was a horrible experience and the pool area had drainage issues and the hot tub had an undiapered infant in it for an hour who guaranteed was peeing in the pool. There is also no business center. I took a conference call in the gym room with 2 people working out in it. Super disappointed in the experience and how poorly they handled the situation. read more

This hotel exceeded our expectations for the Poconos. The hotel room was large (king size bed),couch, and had a large flat screen tv which allowed us to hook up our amazon firestick. The hotel had an indoor pool and hot tub which were kind of out-dated but we were happy to use it. There were a few arcade games and a small room with a computer for people needing to conduct business on a PC. There was a lounge/bar/club in the hotel where you can order food and cocktails (recommended for happy hour) and it turns into a hip hop club on the weekends. Bathroom was dirty it looks like they did a quick wipe down with plain water and kept it moving. When I stepped into the tub it was so filmy I almost slipped and shower head had some black crap dripped on it. My wife and I had to book here because other area hotels were unavailable. The photos online are super deceiving. Once you walk in the smell hits you. Must, mildew and general bad odor of some type of sub-par chemical attempting to rid the heavy smoke odor Knowing it was more of a budget-friendly hotel we continued into our room anyway. The elevator smells even worse. Our NON SMOKING room had cigarette burns in the mattress cover, yellow stained bed sheets and an obvious Odor from previous smokers Immediately went down to front desk to cancel and was told we could not receive a refund after 4pm ( we didn't arrive until 6pm and was in the room for under 5 minutes) Front desk person needs a lesson on customer service and presentation. No one wants to stare at your prodigious chest hair hanging out of your unbuttoned, tie-less, collared shirt. Wyndham Hotels( Baymont a division of) has had my business for years, not any longer.
