If you book this hotel because of the price, you'll do well to keep repeating to yourself "You get what you pay for. You get what you pay for". Pleasant gent at the counter, but they ran out of keys when checking me in. Only a momentary glitch since he went to get some more. The hallway has a musty aroma to it, and although I keep hearing the word "remodeled", I can't find any evidence of it in this or the last decade. Don't try to lean the computer desk chair back. It WILL, but it isn't made to. In other words, it bends backwards and won't come back up. Don't ask me how I learned that little tidbit. The room was a room. Dead bugs in the light fixtures, slow internet (although I was using a VPN since it's an open network), and I decided not to sit on the recliner since it had the remnants of some long-gone resident's hair product permanently stained into it. Decided not to use the coffee maker since the ground pin on the plug was broken off in the outlet. Chipped paint and stained carpets abound, but the bed seemed clean (yes, I pulled up the sheets and mattress cover to check for bedbugs and kept my bag off the floor since it would be difficult to see insects due to the dim lights and dark carpet colors. Unusual ancient shower head gave a rather relaxing massage and the hot water was plentiful. Towels were hit and miss. A couple were thick and a couple were almost see-through. Can't comment on the breakfast, since the COVID protocols call for a bagged breakfast to go. In all, it's a room. I'll be thankful if my car is still outside in the morning, as the clientele milling around the parking lot looked a bit shady. It's worth the cost, as long as you remember "You get what you pay for". read more

Literally had to renew my card 5 times to get into my room!! Fix your damn locks if they don't work!! After a 17 hr shift in surgery, and being on call for 24 hrs no one wants to play around with dysfunctional locks on the doors. On March 7​,​ I checked into the Baymont by Wyndham Cambridge on my way from Columbus to Pittsburgh for a meeting. The front desk staff greeted me by name because she said I was the last person to check in for the night. I settled in for the night and took the extra (and seemingly silly) precaution of flipping the top lock on the door because I was a single female alone at the hotel. Sometime in the middle of the night, I woke up to the sound of someone unlatching my door and a male voice saying, "Someone is in my room." In the morning, I found that my key no longer worked on my door. Through multiple conversations with hotel staff and management, I discovered that they "moved" my registration to another room and checked someone else into my room while I was still there. Apparently, ​no safety measures are in place to prevent someone from getting into your room besides the top latch. Management says this happens at hotels when staff aren't "careful." ​After multiple phone calls and Facebook posts, they have refunded me $35 and given me 10,500 loyalty points. So now I have a partial refund for my stay and enough points for 1 free night at their lowest-tier property. ​I was extremely lucky in this situation. A male intruder could have entered my room if I had not locked the top latch. I could have had a gun and legally shot him, thanks to Ohio's "Stand Your Ground" law. And he could have been a physical threat to me - it's not like hotels screen their guests before giving them a key. Not only will I not be returning to a Wyndham Hotels & Resorts or Wyndham hotel, but I'll lock the top latch in every hotel room in the future. read more

We were very pleased with our stay at the Baymont Inn Cambridge OH. After reading the mixed reviews it had received in the past online, we were somewhat hesitant to book a room there, however it was the only motel in the area with a heated indoor pool. We found this motel to be modern, clean, and attractive. The staff was very helpful and friendly from "Lynn" who helped us with making the reservations through "Michael" the front desk clerk who was on duty when we arrived. Our room was a bit smaller than we have had at other chains, but certainly more than adequate. It was clean and fresh. We particularly appreciated having BOTH a refrigerator AND a microwave oven in the room in addition to the coffee maker. One very nice feature is that the indoor heated pool is located just off the lobby across from front desk. That provided a feeling of convenience, comfort and security. The pool area was clean and well lit. The complimentary breakfast was great with hot scrambled eggs and biscuits & gravy. It also included yogurt and fresh fruit for the more health-conscious folks. The motel is easy access on and off from Interstate 70. There are several fast-food restaurants nearby including Burger King, Taco Bell, and Chipotle. There is also a Walmart nearby in case something was forgotten at home. Just a few notes: * The motel is a large rectangular structure. If your room is located near the end of the hall, it is a LONG walk to the front desk, pool, continental breakfast, etc. * This is a two-story structure, however there is no elevator to the second floor (if that is needed). * The large free parking lot is lit, however ladies traveling by themselves might find it a bit dark and creepy. We had no problems with overnight parking. We enjoyed our stay at this location. It is reasonably priced and provided great "bang for the buck". read more

I reviewed this hotel the day after our stay but can't find it now so here we go again. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. Or mold infested place. As soon as I walked into the building I could see mold in door frames. We got into our room. It smelled musty and absolutely awful. There was mold in the air conditioning system, on the picture frames, on and around the sink and tub. I have two toddlers so there was no way we were staying in there. We had dinner plans so I called the front office and they said "we'll switch you to a different room" I appreciated that, we came back that night at around 9, this second room was worse. The floors were gross not even cleaned. There was more mold in this room than the last. How? I have no idea. Nothing was plugged in as far as lights and the tv. I had to crawl behind furniture to plug things in so we could even see things and behind the furniture were other people's trash. We had to go to the front office and tell them we want a refund. Find another hotel at 9:30 at night with two tired toddlers. We still haven't received the room refund after calling several times and had to file a complaint with our card company. This was in early August. So I would ignore all of the good reviews and pictures on here and stay at the Hampton inn down the road. The lady at that hotel said she doesn't ever recommend any hotels on that side of the highway and I totally understand why. read more

So, our trip back from Pennsylvania was somewhat stymied by the weather that seems to be omnipresent this year. While driving back on I-70, Jules and I found ourselves in the midst of a snowstorm! After driving for almost 2 hours through white-out conditions, we elected to cut our losses and find a hotel around Cambridge. We settled on a night at the Baymont by Wyndham, which we booked using a free night via Hotels.com. After a few taps and a few moments at the counter, we were shown to our room. And, much like the Red Roof Inn we had stayed in while in Pittsburgh, the Baymont was an economical, clean, moderately-priced option for the middle-class traveler. The room was decently sized, the bed was fine (though a bit soft for my taste, but I prefer an extra-firm mattress), and the bathroom was clean. Jules and I had no major issues, nor did we have any major points. I don't really plan to visit Cambridge again anytime soon, outside of the occasional halfway-stop at Sheetz on my to or from Pittsburgh, but if you find yourself on the road, you can certainly do worse than the Baymont. They're worth your time and money. read more

It unbelievable how pictures make places look so much better than they are. Plus I like how someone in a review commented how the place was newly remodeled. They must have reviewed a different place. I should have know what to expect because of the price I paid, but since it was supposed to have been newly remodeled I thought it might be ok, but I was wrong. The hallway area stinks, they painted the doors and got paint all over the door knobs. I had to put my shoulder in to the door to get it open and to get it to shut. One of the wash clothes had brown stains all over it. I walked in to the lobby which was so tiny. The pool was small and wasn't the nicest. The hot tub was the size of a bathtub. I saw a man trip in the hallway because the carpet was torn. The mattresses are very cheap as well. If you are on a very tight budget then ok I get it if you would stay here. I wish I would have just spent the extra $30-40 and went somewhere else. We have stayed in a lot of hotels over the years and usually have decent luck but this is in the top 3 or 4 of the worst ones. The only thing I can say good about this place is the guy at the counter was nice. read more

My family, of 4, stayed here last night enroute to Maryland. The "gym" consists of 3 machines in a glorified closet. However, the pool was nice. The hot tube was nice and warm, but the seating was weird. It was very high so you're only in the water from the waist down. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean with a fridge, microwave, and 2 queen beds. The rooms are modern, but they are pretty damp. Even with the air on, which blows nice and cold, it never dried out. As a result, it smells a little musty. The price was right. I'd probably stay here again, but it would be a second or third choice, only because of how damp our room was. read more

Friendly helpful staff but the place is a dump. Decor is Early Dirt-Hider: patterns and colors that feel as if they were chosen -- and not recently -- to make lack of cleanliness difficult to notice. The swing-arm security latch on our door had its knob broken clean off, as if someone had forced the door on some previous guest. However, the staff were genuinely helpful...I walked into the breakfast area at 4am and found the night clerk cheerfully finishing breakfast prep because they had a large group in who were leaving early and had asked for breakfast at 4:30. read more

Nothing hidden, front desk manager told me oh the phones work locally, but not long distance. Lol what is this 1989? Wtf has a long distance carrier? Do they even exist? No frills, nothing hidden, and zero police presence. Someone is paying someone in Guernsey county, or the police might be nervous. If paying cash expect to give 100 cash deposit, for no phones. Don't waste your breath complaining. It seems the owner, or guy in charge will just accuse you of smoking, and say he kicked you out. Lol again ok if you've been around the block, and you have zero choices. Ohio is soon to be constitutional carry. If staying here do so, or don't stay alone. Lot lizard in lobby, and very stressed out front desk guy. He must be super brave. Don't bring kids. Expect to get a bed, and hot water. Didn't try wifi. I.E. smart phone. Stayed here one night, and if I had it to do over again, I'd have paid the extra $30 to stay some place nicer. Honestly I was surprised how run-down the building seemed, given that, the last time I stayed at a Baymont, it was straight-up posh. But here, there was paint coming off the walls and ceiling, rust on metal hardware, and a sink faucet that barely trickled at fully open. The bathroom was so small that I couldn't take two steps in it without hitting either toilet or bath tub. That being said, I checked the beds for bedbugs and there weren't any, and everything (except the sink) that needed to work worked: tv, fridge, microwave, door lock--even the wifi worked well. In fact, the tv was a simplified menu with a "clean" remote (flat, without all those holes for bacteria to hide in), which I really liked. Night man was super friendly and kind; morning woman was a bit surly (in fairness to her, it was 7 am, and she was at work :-\). Breakfast was your typical mass-manufactured all-cardboard hotel breakfast that I wouldn't touch with a stick. So yeah, if you can't afford better, then okay, it was at least clean and cheap. But if you can afford better, do better. You'll be happy you did. read more

The hallways dirty from construction guests who couldn't be bothered to take off their work boots( lack of manners)The motel decor overall is tired and the bathrooms could use a face lift. We were on second floor facing the road and truck traffic noisy. Overall this place is nothing special but for the price was satisfied. Ok where do I begin, Spartan inc hosts a spartan race in Chandlervilles OH every year and this one event brings massive revenue to the hotels in the area. This hotel refused to extend their 11 am check out time to accommodate Spartan racers. The manager was really rude and didn't seem to care about WHY all these people were in his hotel. The hotel is clearly packed due to Spartan racers and to make sure this is repeated every year you figured the manager would be more accommodating us. He was very unprofessional on how he handled the situation and my friends and I will never book a room at the Baymont again. read more

This is the second time I've arrived early to the hotel with multiple days of reservation. The first time they charged me for an extra half day for arriving 3 hours early. This time they refused me a room because I got there at 9:30 instead of 3. I travel for a living. I'm very tired. It's especially hot out today, and I had to walk from half mile away, which makes it even more frustrating. Here's a tip, if there's two of you in the building when a traveler comes in, who is obviously becoming a regular because the front desk clerk Mary Ellen recognized me, one of them can watch the desk while the other one goes and cleans the room. You actually don't have to be a member of the custodial team to provide good customer service, take charge of the situation, and give a guest a positive experience. read more
