Nice and quiet like a library should be. I just wish they were open more. Staff is nice too.

Omg, way long overdue review for this library! So everyone knows about SFPL but Daly City is pretty…read morefine as well. What makes Daly City Libraries special is that they're apart of the Peninsula Library System which offers a wide array of items with a bevy of titles! Admittedly I still use DVDs due to pinching pennies, challenging immoral corporations & supporting local libraries. Sorry Netflix & Disney +, but I love libraries like this too much to let them become history! Also books, magazines & staff make the branches extra special! I just wish they they had more days open with evenings & will always cherish when it was the Plandemic's lockdown, that they would send golds in parcels to our homes!

The entrance to the WMCC (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/1VCo5Pt_Ehm-t0q9obP_Xw?select=fXf83dniG8SqD6KC7ISC7A) is easier to find since it is on Mission Street (metered parking). The main entrance to the library itself (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/1VCo5Pt_Ehm-t0q9obP_Xw?select=Pf3trfydLYhFfvR30jo2Ow) is behind the War Memorial building, on Hillside Blvd (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/1VCo5Pt_Ehm-t0q9obP_Xw?select=Dim0FUloAJEz3Q2poGcKhg). There's a small parking lot and residential parking. There are the standard kids' reading room, the teen's study room, the Internet terminals, the magazines section, tables-chairs sections, the small chairs to doze-off sections, etc. All areas are brightly lit and open (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/1VCo5Pt_Ehm-t0q9obP_Xw?select=6JheT9-Dw_CuuDscSfJR7g), not isolated and are nicely laid out for ease in locating (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/1VCo5Pt_Ehm-t0q9obP_Xw?select=eejPdDjHEigLefnO59lmpg).

There's a separate room just for kids which is a nice perk of this branch. The room houses books for all kids with a small section of hard picture books (which my 2 year old peruses), a wall of graphic novels for young readers (which neither of my kids are ready for) and then aisles of other reads for mostly ages 5 and up. There are also 2 computers with kids games and a fish tank. There are a few rounded kids tables with chairs and my least favorite... a dirty stained couch. As of now, we have been here maybe 6 times. The space is always clutter free and organized and there's usually not a lot of other people there. I have asked the staff a few times to help find books and sometimes they are less than friendly which makes me feel like a burden. Other times they are helpful and willing so it depends who's working that day. They have a no late fee policy which is great, and they automatically renew your books if they are late. Overall, this is one or the lesser exciting libraries I've taken my family, but it works for what we need.

Dedicated Chinese and Spanish language sections for books and media. The librarians are very welcoming and helpful. Very small library so it is hard to get around much. No sofa or arm chairs for reading. Only cubicles with computers and wooden chairs. Bathrooms are upstairs. There is also a "storytelling room" upstairs and a computer lap.

I said I understood, I was just trying to kill time and made my way upstairs. I kid you not, they rounded 4 times to the computer room in 25mins. I was the only person up there. She came up 3 times and sent someone else who nervously said "I was just checking" when I said "how you doing" and before she scurried out. I almost felt bad for the young lady, but didn't appreciate the former surveilling me when they already have a camera upstairs. They can check if someone was sleeping, which I wasn't. Library itself is small with at least 3 staff that I noticed. They also seemed to be more concerned about someone possibly napping the someone blasting music inside the library.

The first few floors of the library aren't too quiet, which I prefer, but the 4th level and higher are quiet study areas. There are also plenty of electrical outlets, but they are scattered throughout along the walls and floor (not built into the tables like what more modern libraries have.) I'm not a SFSU student, but was able to come here with no issues to get some work and studying done. There is very limited paid parking around the area and the free street parking is impossible to find, but if your mobile and capable enough you can park unlimited for free at the mall up the street and walk over (it was about a 15 minute walk.) There are also several muni and bus stops in the area, so public transportation is probably more ideal. I like getting my steps in, so I parked at the mall and walked over. There is free guest wifi in the library for non-students. You just need to sign up for it with your name and email address, and the system emails you a one time password to use. The wifi is surprisingly slow, considering that this is on a college campus and I'm sure there are many students that rely on needing good internet speeds for their courses and studies.

After the renovations, this place feels more like a miniature IT campus similar to that of Apple or google. And the library gets super busy especially during midterms and finals. Surprisingly there's a Help Desk where you can get a loaner laptop, you have basic computer questions. Basically this is a good place to start for your studying needs.

It was kinda my fault for not asking first hand. Before placing it randomly on the table. But at the same time, they were treating me low-key like a pariah. When there's other people posting cool stuff on the table of flyers and all. But I was being "it is what is is" towards that library employee, even though I didn't necessarily agree with that. They didn't give me a specific reason for not allowing me too. Maybe they didn't like the content of the promotional materials related to Patrick Lew Band. I don't do PG rated music or Youtube videos. But I see how it is. That's fine with me. The good thing is, they didn't ban my printing privileges at any San Francisco library. If that were the case, that's when all the boundaries are crossed. I go to the library often to print documents online on my computer. I utilize most of my library visits in San Francisco for that alone. I print online at the library a lot because I don't like the cost and maintenance of printing things directly at home. But they do have a good selection of physical media here. I actually like this location more than the Ingleside branch because it's more spaced out and not as narrow in size and area. I only give this branch the 3 star review because of the lady who worked here who insisted I cannot place any of my band's flyers here anymore, based on experience dealing with her.
