Lots of research done before picking a practice. It is not a cheap venture and both quality and price figured into the equation. Dr Berger and his team exceeded my expectations. It is a long process and many questions along the way. The team was always available to keep me on track. The practice is extremely clean, modern and up to date on the newest dental technology. I had a consult appointment scheduled yesterday with Dr. Michelle Scala. I emailed my x-rays taken…read moreby a dentist specializing in prosthodontics and provided her with a recent CT scan done by a periodontist. I wanted her to review my records and get her opinion as to options for taking care of issues in my mouth. I wanted her opinion because I felt communication had broken down with previous dentists and cost for their plan for me ($72,000+) was not something affordable. I let Dr Scala's assistant know that my concerns were the health of my mouth and cost. The assistant spent a half hour entering information in the computer then left the room. I waited in the room for 50 minutes before taking my records and leaving. This was the most unprofessional experience I have had to date. I have no idea what happened (no one came back) but I would not recommend going to see this dentist especially if you have specific dental challenges. I would give -1 to this provider and her staff.

She also insisted that I could not just do one crown because it would be easier for her and for me to do both of them at the same time. When I said I needed to think about it, she left and sent in another woman who tried to close the deal. Honestly, I've had better treatment at a used car lot. And again this is upsetting because I really like the hygienist, and appreciate his quality work. It is my understanding that this office is now affiliated with pacific dental services network, and that this high-pressure tactic is common in their affiliated offices. If you follow the story, she will be reported to the Florida Board of dentistry. There is so much more to the story and she has failed to meet her ethical obligations that I guess she forgot because it was so long ago when she took an oath . I'm not sure if she submits a form to everyone to fill out to see if they're a good fit for her practice. What does a good fit even mean ,if anyone knows please reach out to me and educate me. It's a shame that some doctors and Dentist feel that they have the power over a patient and they can just abuse that power and get away with it. I should have known it was a bad sign when the staff turned on the TV for me; they thought I might be entertained/distracted by the HGTV show. I was THIS close to walking out when the doctor finally came in, and I think he was with me for three minutes. As I was leaving, the person at the front desk was supposed to scan a document for me, but she started helping another customer. I just walked out without even checking out; they had made me wait too long, and I wasn't waiting another minute. They can call me if they need something from me!
