So, we went to this branch yesterday to get some counter checks. They asked for ID, which we…read morepresented. Then they printed out the checks and we drove away. Perfect! We went home and filled out one of the checks. We handed it to our landlord. She accepted it, we all smiled, and that was the end of the day. Still perfect. Today, we got a call from the landlord. Seems there was a problem with the check. It wasn't ours! We went down to take a look and, sure enough, the name on the check was someone else's name. The bank had given us someone else's checks! We took the checks back to the bank to let them know what they had done. And we were told that it was no big deal. A mere "oversight." Now, here I am with this woman's name and address. I have her bank's routing number and her account number. Gee, I wonder what I could do with such information. Imagine the possibilities!

They are heartless. I thought a hometown bank would be helpful and caring. I was wrong. I am a…read moredisabled veteran, and went to the nearby FNB on Main Street in Cadiz, KY. They quickly reviewed my loan application, asked a few questions, and then ignored my responses to their questions. I earn over $200,000 and carry almost zero balances on credit cards and loans. I applied for a loan, to purchase a 2024 vehicle with 25,000 miles for my daughter. They valued the car at $22,000. They then turned me down for a vehicle loan of $17,000. They said my credit score from the one bureau they use was 567. I told them that was grossly incorrect and that I had checked it the day before and it was over 700. They refused to reconsider. The next day I received a loan from Frontera Credit Union, for the same car, who verified my credit score of 735, did not require a down payment and charged a 5.7% interest instead of the 7.9% potential interest at FNB.
