The best night snacks you can have! It brings me back to childhood every time I had it! They also accept delivering as well which is a plus!

I love a good taco stand. This is one of the best. Unfortunately, the days of $1-1.50 tacos from my…read moreyouth has disappeared. Even though this vendor sells tacos pequeño (small tacos, 2-3 bites), they are $3-4 each, which is not cheap. For that reason, I can't give them 5 stars. It's quite pricey considering that most full size tacos are selling for about $4.50-5.50 nowadays on the streets, but double in size. With that said, I appreciate the smaller size for me to enjoy more variety every time I stop by. My favorites change from visit to visit, but generally I always get Suadero (roast meat), Campechano (roast meat & sausage), Buche (pork stomach), Cabeza (beef head), and Lengua (beef tongue). I also like the extra weird parts like Cesos (beef brain) and Ojos (beef eye). However, the texture is very mushy and definitely not for everyone. As accompaniments, for every two tacos you order, they also give you a long stem onion that is quite tender and delicious. On the down side, instead of the traditional lime and radish that most places give, Tacos El Borrego offers lemon and cucumbers. I'm not sure why, except maybe they are cheaper options than the normal garnishes. Also, don't forget the flavorful green and red sauces on the table if you are eating there. Otherwise, ask for some to go. I miss the days when our group of friends would get a few tacos late at night after a party or night out drinking. The prices are no longer the same, but the food is still perfect for sobering up while having some laughs on the streets during the warm months. I think back to those days fondly whenever I'm at a taco stand nowadays, and Tacos El Botrego is one of my favorites in NYC.

It's a cart located on 90th st and Roosevelt ave that sells homemade Peruvian food, the cart looks like a regular cart but their food was pretty awesome. The Food: Anticucho- The beef heart was my fav item here. The heart was so tender and I loved the smokiness from the grill. The texture of the heart was wonderful. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=xkN4jYiAZD4Tykpf9NQ0Lw&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA Ceviche de Pescado- I thought this was great, I loved the acidic kick from the leche de tigre and I loved how it was able to add so much flavor to the fish. Lomo Saltado- This was a standard item, it was good but not the most exciting but it did have a good flavor. Tamale- The texture of the tamale was great. Flavor was good. Empanada- This was ok, it kinda threw me off that there were raisins in it. I prefer my savory items to just be savory.

My girlfriend and I made a day of it went to the corner of Roosevelt and 90th for some authentic Peruvian food. I had the sandwich de chicharron with an inca cola. The sandwich was toasted but I would have preferred the chicharron was crunchier. However, it was still flavorful and delicious with sauteed onions and sweet potato. It definitely hits the sweet and salty craving. Keep in mind that this is located in a busy intersection and there's always a mob of people walking by. Make sure you go with a homie to get the best experience!

They have the perfect ratio and layering of meats and fat. The seasoning here is also well balanced - it's salty & spicy with just a hint of sweetness. I usually order less spicy. This BBQ lot has been here for years and has quite a large following. There's always a line of ppl patiently waiting for their BBQ goodness! On this Tuesday evening at around 7:30pm, it was no exception; there were about 8 ppl on line. But don't let that deter you from ordering your BBQ Skewers! The line moves surprisingly quickly. This is a one man show and he was hustling! Kudos to the hardworking gentleman making our BBQ Kebabs, and don't forget to tip him! On this visit, we tried their Beef and Lamb Kebabs ($1.75 each). We asked for the kebabs with cumin and extra spicy. These were so flavorful and delicious! My only complaint is that some pieces were very fatty but very good nonetheless. I will definitely be looking for this cart the next time I'm in the area. Looking forward to trying their other skewers! (See my photos for their menu offerings).
