What an absolute find this place was! We were driving past on our way to Belfast and saw this spot…read moreon a couple apps. I'm always a bit nervous when places only have a handful of reviews, but we gave it a go and the go was got! Parking is a bear in this area. The delightful town of Swords or "S" words as Mr. Connery taught us years ago when SNL wasn't lame, is just off the highway and the main downtown drive had a good number of fun spots up and down it. We ended up in a parking lot behind it and that worked well. The space is pretty tight with seating for maybe 20, and a dozen more spots outside. We sat out there on a lovely crisp sunny morning. The food for us 5 came out quick. The scones were amazing, the Brooklyn wrap and Brisket egg sandwich were phenomenal and the stars of the show - the Turkish eggs and the Crispy chicken benny. Those last two were lick the plate good and are something we'd go for again! The tea selection was the least impressive thing here and was still solid enough for my best half who loves her teas! Coffee was also quite good. Excellent portions as we shared everything with 5 hungry peeps and still left with extra. This was truly a master class in breakfast! The area is lucky to have a spot like this. Get here early and sit outside if it's nice!

I ate here in a pinch after realizing my chosen restaurant was just a takeaway place, and I wanted…read moresomething better to see myself off from Ireland. So I at least accomplished that. The seafood chowder here is yet another variation - I only saw fish in there although the menu said shellfish, but there were large chunks of fresh and smoked fish. Since their posted specials (outside) are only available on weekends (thanks, sign - but at least they were honest about it before bringing me anything I had to pay for), I tried the posh fish & chips. It was pretty good - definitely not your usual fish & chips, and the portion was deceptively decent. The sauce was too light on flavour and portion to really work with the potatoes, which were perfectly crisped Irish golds by the way. The fish was crispy outside and had the hint of cured/salty-smoky on the inside, definitely a lighter smoke on the salmon than you might get in Canada or New York. I washed it down with something else you don't really see in the states, Smithwicks pale ale. (Unlike most Irish pubs, there were mostly lighter beers here, pales and lagers, with Guinness holding down the dark side alone.) Nothing to write home about, but at least I ended the day on a high note.

I wasn't too hungry, so I just ordered the spicy chicken wings. The wings were quite small, maybe because I'm use to GMO wings. I enjoyed them enough though. I also enjoyed their fries.

My friend ate a side of onion rings. The roast beef was cooked to perfection, very tender and juicy. It is pretty unsalted, which I like, but my friend said it wasn't enough. The side of rich, brown gravy made up for it adding the right amount of saltiness to the beef. Carrots and peas were a tad soft, but flavorful and good mashed potatoes. I wasn't wild about the whole fried ones. The Yorkshire pudding was pretty dreadful and seemed to be backed hours prior because it was rubbery and chewy. The chicken curry was good, a little sweet, but good amount of curry flavor. Chips and rice were great. The onion rings were good. Not stellar, not bad. Just solidly good! Guinea's was perfect in terms of being served at the right temp and they have half pints, which made me happy! This place was very, very loud. It was distractingly loud, but if you want sports and good beer, you are in the right spot. Lots of families with little ones for dinner. Service was good.
