One last meal after weeks of traveling all around Ireland, Kealy's was a good note to go out on. I had the Trio Meal: Chicken Wings, Corned Beef and Cabbage, and Apple Pie, while my hubby had the Fish and Chips. The chicken wings were hearty, juicy, and crispy with an amazing sauce. They were quite large, and came with a lot of celery :) There was enough to share with two! My main entree was so yummy-the parsley sauce on the potatoes was creamy, with lots of seasoned zest. The meat was a large cut-well cooked, tender and juicy. The cabbage was chopped nicely, easy to take some with each bite. The fish and chips was a good cut of fish-nice and fresh. The apple pie wasn't anything special, I wish I picked something else. The apple pie is why I didn't rate a 4/5, and the beer was why I didn't rate a 5/5. Learning how to pour Guinness during our travels, they poured a crap pint here. It was upsetting their Guinness was the last on our trip. They need to learn how to pour-Ireland promotes the double pour, let it settle-they are not doing this-and they caused a major overflow of foam. read more

Nothing but great things to say about Kealy's. The food (curry, fish and chips) were great. Actually, the curry was amazing. Service was very friendly and accommodating (we had a sleeping toddler in a stroller). We had no reservation, but were seated in a great spot, out of the way, very quickly. It's a real treasure having this place so close to airport. It's a little tricky to get there on foot, but definitely do-able. A must stop if you have a long layover and want to venture out. Kealy's is my go-to place for pub grub in Swords, situated on the Swords Road, just before the airport, it has plenty of parking out back and you'll find a warm welcome inside. There's plenty of seating in the part that serves food and the lounge next door is usually quieter for those who want to while away some time with a drink or two. The food is simple and hearty, portions are big - you won't go hungry here! It's always busy with a buzzy atmosphere but they'll manage to fit you in somewhere. The dips and sauces are all home-made and delicious - the garlic and curry my personal favourites. If you want a no-nonsense, hearty feed and a pint in a casual setting and don't want to pay over the odds for it, then Kealy's will not let you down. read more

Have lived locally to Kealy's for a while now and have promised myself to check it out sooner rather than later. Went in for lunch today and ordered the roast beef sandwich which was accompanied with chips and salad. The menu for a bar, is impressive. A lot of bases covered and not crazily expensive. My meal was under 9 quid so for all I got, happy days. I will say that the chips and salad weren't the very best I've had, lacked flavour and a bit of imagination but the beef was delicious, tender and moreish :) read more

What a terrific bar and restaurant right next to the Dublin airport. This is a large bar w many locals so really feels like a neighborhood place. Don't confuse w an Airport bar. I am giving Kealy's a five out of five for various reasons. I originally came into this pub because if a long layover at the Dublin Airport. It's a very close walk. Mandy was our waitress, a very friendly and sweet woman. Two weeks later we came back, but this time our happiness was down a bit. We had missed our flight back to San Francisco. No worries because these people turned our day around. I ate a delicious comforting meal, roast beef with carrots, cauliflower, and mashed potatoes. The gravy was delicious. It was the comfort food I needed. Mandy recommended it. I trusted her judgement and I was right. It did not end there. A man that we met two weeks prior had shown up. Heard about our rough day and booked us a room at the local bed and breakfast. The people that come to Kealy's and those that work there are a real charm. I am astonished at the hospitality. Had a 4 hr layover in Dublin so we decided to have a quick but proper Irish breakfast. The gentleman in the airport recommended Kealy's which was excellent! It's about a 10 min walk outside the airport which was nice they shared an entrance. We all had the big Irish breakfast so good! This was an awesome experience! We chose this bar to have our last dinner before heading to the airport and back to the USA. Excellent service, Food & Beer! The Fish & Chips were the best we had in our 3 weeks in Ireland. And I tried their "Buffalo Wings" (they don't add the Buffalo on to the name though) they were fantastic and perfectly fried. Our tour guide stopped in to Kealy's as we were on our way back through Dublin but needed to kill some time before we went to Newgrange. So a leisurely lunch was what needed to happen! First off, this place isn't what you think of as a pub. It is modern inside with sleek furniture and cool rusts, golds, and black color scheme. Tons of people were there having work lunches. I ordered the seafood chowder which comes with two slices of brown bread. It was rich and creamy and made my sore throat feel so much better. Our service was a bit slow but I think that is because it was super busy and not a lot of people were working. Also I never did quite get the hang of how to get servers' attention in Ireland. So it could have been my bad. It seems that later in the evening this place may get more loungey? There were advertisements of live music and hen/stag parties, etc. Thus the more swank atmosphere would totally make sense. Overall a good lunch and a nice spot, especially if you work near or are going to be near Dublin airport. read more

We visited Kealy's on an early Sunday evening. Service was fast, efficient and friendly. My wife had "the best fish and chips I've ever eaten". I had the salmon filet. It was very good. The place is surprisingly large. Contrary to a few other reviews, this is definitely not overrun with tourists. We were seated upstairs where there were a number of families enjoying special events. We ate here getting off the plane at the recommendation of our shuttle driver. Best choice! The aroma of smells when we walked in was to die for and not just because we were starving! I had a wonderful experience at Kealy's in early september. My sister held her wedding in the private room upstairs and the whole experience was fantastic. Dionne was in charge of the event and her attentition to detail and customber service was above standard. My sister was made to feel very relaxed and that her big day was in good hands and it was. We all had a great day, the dj was attentive and handled our crazy requests very well.The food was plentiful and tasty. The kids had a great time until it was thier time to go home. Absolutely disgusted with my experience in this bar/restaurant today - I've been in many times previously during the week with clients wearing a suit and some mornings having breakfast, but today decided to bring my sister for her birthday her daughter and my 2 kids - from the moment I walked Into the premises I felt I was been judged as myself and kids we're wearing football Jerseys- 3 times I went to sit down and was told that table is reserved ( once in the lounge then moved to the bar and finally told on the third occasion upstairs ) take note tables were free and no reserve sign on them... 20 mins prior to arriving I rang Kealys and asked what time was food been served to plus are they showing the football I was Ye course and food served till 8:45 - not at any stage was I asked r told on the phone do I want to reserve a table... This was a great place to grab a bite to eat either before or after your flight from/to Dublin airport. It's an Irish pub but breakfast is served until noon. Prices are very reasonable. We got the Full Irish breakfasts, and it was tremendous! There were all sorts of processed meats, including black & white. The bread was toasted to perfection. Irish butter is so tasty.
