While we were there, we were checked on by several employees and offered water as a courtesy. One employee went above and beyond the call of duty. Her name is Nancy Hall. She was sweet and bubbly and remembered our names even though we rarely come here, (since we live in another city). She helped us every step of the way and was the epitome of patience. She wears many hats when necessary! And what is more, she stayed to help us a while longer even though she was off the clock and on her way to the rodeo! This is a medium-sized branch in a great location on Nolana and 2nd Street in McAllen. They were…read morepretty busy when I arrived but I was waited on very quickly. I needed to exchange Canadian dollars for American. They do offer a currency exchange services at this branch. However, they require you to have an account with them to do the exchange. I just had the same road block at the Chase bank and the BBVC. IBC only does pesos or euros. However since I have a home mortgage with Wells Fargo they were able to do the transaction for me even without a checking account. The people who waited on me were very friendly and helpful. I just had to ask if an exception could be made for those that have a mortgage account with them. The original answer was no. Apparently they changed their policy about six months ago to require a checking or savings account with them. I can't really comment on their checking or savings accounts, however they were quite helpful when dealing with our mortgage and I have had no complaints over the last 17 years despite some issues they have had as a company a couple of years ago. A benefit to having an account with Wells Fargo is that there are branches and ATMs pretty much everywhere.

Got thru the whole process, inserted my checks to be deposited, and a message comes up, no deposits accepted on the ATM. WTH? Why? The bank was open so I just drive around to the teller window and told her, your ATM isn't accepting deposits. "Oh." No explanation or sorry. So today, I drive thru the bank's ATM to deposit a check. It's July 4th so bank is closed. Big deal, I'm at the ATM. Go thru the same thing, insert card, enter number, select Spanish or English, select checking or savings, smooth check, insert here.....and a message comes up--no deposits accepted. WTH?? How about delivering the message "Don't even TRY to deposit a check dumass" before going thru 10 steps???
