I guess the days of kitchen and bath showrooms are over (at least in New Orleans), because BC Kitchen & Bath is typical of most stores of their kind: walls of samples, maybe 2 or 3 layouts in a chaotic, cramped tiny storefront. That said, I was asked if we wanted help as soon as we stepped inside, only without anything to look at, who the hell knew what to ask for? The lady who worked here was extremely nice and it seems if you do your research beforehand, the turnaround is pretty quick and they are well-stocked in some mysterious warehouse nearby. Don't expect regular hours. I think that's a "thing" too with these places as they all seem to close whenever they want (closing hours are even rubbed off on the door). Again, this is probably due to the fact that there isn't much browsing going on. I'll report back if I go with them, but I wasn't wowed by any of the marble/tile/cabinet samples that I did see. Think more typical and nothing that would belong in a book or magazine. I'm thinking it's probably where a lot of landlords shop? read more

Had a great all around experience with BC, i came in the shop with just some photos of an idea and they designed it within a couple of days and had the order ready and on site within a couple of weeks. Install was very efficient, professional, and great craftsmanship. They stayed on site until 10pm just to make sure everything was done that day. Also really wonderful communication the entire way and always answered my questions right away. Would definitely use them again and recommend. read more

Rude sales people. Act like they are too busy to do business with you. Not helpful and slow with quotes. it took them 3 days to send a quote for a basic l-shaped kitchen. Prices are high compare to other comparable cabinets. I bought cabinets and countertops from somewhere else by the time their quote showed up. read more

I'll start by saying that the vanity that we purchased from here is beautiful. The quality seems nice for the price and you do get more from here (as far as features go) than you would at another cabinet place. For example, soft close drawers come standard, sliders in the large cabinet also come standard. At other cabinet places that we shopped, these were add ons that cost several hundred dollars more. Plus, the cabinet itself was less expensive. I knew exactly what I wanted when I went in there, so I didn't need to see samples or have them draw it out for me. I actually had a schematic drawing from another store that I showed to them. It might be difficult to see what you are getting because they don't use any fancy software to draw it out for you, but this does lead to cost savings. However, the installation process was a bit of a nightmare. First all all, the installers decided that it was a good idea to cut the marble in my garage. Cutting marble or stone makes for A LOT of dust. I was unaware that they were doing this in my garage. They asked me to open the door to the garage so that they could get a large piece in that way instead of the front door, which made sense. By the time I went down and found them cutting in the garage, it was too late. I spent over an hour mopping, and dusting surfaces in the garage (washer and dryer, shelving, tools, etc.) and that didn't even scratch the surface. Then, I found pieces of marble left over from the installation all over the lawn, the driveway and the garage floor which I walked around picking up so I didn't roll over a sharp piece and puncture a tire or tear up the lawnmower blade when cutting the grass. The installers also smoked cigarettes and left their cigarette butts on my driveway and path to my front door. Instead of using shims to level one of the cabinets, they used one of the tiles I was using to tile my shower. Didn't ask if they could use it, just did, which meant that my husband had to use a chisel to break the tile which hung out from in front of the cabinet. They left so much mess that I don't know if I'll ever get my garage clean. I called and told them this, but they blew me off and really just didn't seem to care. There is also a language barrier with the installers, so trying to tell them how you want something done is difficult and they seem to still want to do it their way. Bottom line, if you decide to get your cabinets from here, find someone else to install or install yourself. read more

This place has got to be the worst place you can go to purchace your kitchen. Nothing about the installation or the quality of the cabinets is even close to what they claim, and with the installers they use it make things even worse. Nothing in our kitchen is level, soft close does not work, in fact you need to really use some strength to be able to close theese drawers, all due to installers having no idea or skillset what so ever. After only three months, the cabinets are falling apart and screws are coming out. The finish of the cabinets are also amongst of the lowest quality you can find. We will have to replace the kitchen cabinet by cabinet, and this time it will not be something cheap made in china with shady installers. The only good thing with the kitchen is the countertops, even if they are net level. Expensive lesson. Stay away. read more

We had an amazing experience with BC kitchen! Every time we went in everyone that was working was so friendly and helpful. We went to a local cabinet place, and when we got the design they didn't take in consideration in what we wanted., but BC Kitchen listened and designed exactly what we wanted. Not to mention their prices are awesome and very reasonable! The cabinets are good quality. The installation guys were kind of late to arrive for installation, but they did SUCH A GOOD JOB. I honestly can't say anymore good things about this place. The installers were so nice, and they stayed a long time and made sure we were happy with everything. They triple checked everything to make sure it was all level. And the best part, they left such a clean space! We are so happy with our purchase. read more

I have remodeled lots of kitchens but never anything as nicely as what they do at BC, but of course like everything else it requires good planning and communication. The difference between these people and the big stores is that the sales and installation people are perfectionists and know their products perfectly. Their cabinets are precision manufactured and unbelievable quality for half the price of big box store cabinets. I have paid twice as much for half the quality in the past BC is by far the best quality I have ever seen. They are made from quality hard woods, drawers are dovetailed, not glued or nailed, finishes seem to be durable (time will tell). The installation people are totally professional and more like engineers than cabinet installers. They know their product intimately and assemble the cabinets to carefully detailed specifications with zero errors. They send installers to the site to measure for the tiniest imperfections in walls or flooring that would cause imperfections and they won't put cabinets into a sloppy area. They don't take shortcuts and jury-rig their cabinets, they are precision manufactured like a car... all the pieces fit together perfectly and work beautifully. You don't get a bozo trying to figure out which pieces go together... its all computerized and laid out professionally for installers who know their product, they don't just guess what goes where. They can install an entire kitchen in one day... perfectly... because their designer has plotted everything by computer and they don't seem to make any errors. So if their sales person understands your plans/specs and knows exactly what you want, you will get a perfect quality product and installation. If they seem rushed its because builders recommend them and they are overloaded with business, so insist that they take time to see all your details. read more

Design assistance and store help was very good. The cabinets are good, not of the highest quality, but good. However it got worse for me from there. They cancelled and rescheduled the installation multiple times and at the last minute sometimes. It was very inconvenient. I would take a day off of work a week in advance and they would call that day, or you would have to call them as they didn't show and you would have to reschedule. The quality of the work was decent. However, the gap where my stove fits with the microwave above is offset about 2 inches. I had to call them back out to try and center it and to adjust the doors on half of the cabinets because they were not aligned correctly after the initial installation. It is still offset, but I am probably the only one who will notice it. Still, it shouldn't be offset if you have professional installers.The biggest issue I have is that they messed up the granite counter tops and showed up with a slab that was in cracked and had major surface damage. They shouldn't have even loaded this thing on the truck. I rejected it. However, they convinced me they could work it a little and install the portions that were not damaged including my island and a portion of the counters. Those sections looked fantastic. They assured me that they would come back with more of the lot to finish off the remainder the next week. The end result was two very different shades of granite right at the seam in main corner which looks terrible!!!!! Outside on the truck in daylight, it is hard to see the difference in shade when half is already installed in the kitchen. It clearly looks like two different sheets of granite. Not slight variations and imperfections, but white versus yellow at the seam. It doesn't blend at all. I went back to them on this as the installers did not communicate very well. They told me it was normal that granite varies in shade. I get that, but this is extreme and right at the seam and they said they don't have anymore of the lot to replace it. I am certain that if the original portion was not so damaged, it would not look this bad. I learned an expensive lesson on this one. I didn't care to fight over the cost and I even offered to pay for the replacement of the piece that is yellow just to get it right. They said they could replace it but there is not more of the slab available. Overall, my kitchen is much better than what I had, and I could live with the difficulties of the installation process and minor imperfections, but I am very disappointed in the countertops!!! I feel deceived by this. If I were the installer, I would not have put that yellow piece in place in good conscience. I will likely have to buy new countertops from some other vendor if I cannot get this resolved. Hope this helps. I think you can get decent service from this company, but be extra careful to check things out before you pay. The installers will not treat it like there own and you have to watch everything. I hope the scheduling issues were just my bad look and it is not the norm. read more

We flooded in August 2016 and getting cabinets in Ascension, EBR or Livingston was going to be April or May 2017 so my neighbor referred BC Kitchen to another neighbor who told us. We drove all the way to Metairie, they were very prompt nice and very helpful. We brought our own drawing which was literally rough measurements on a piece of paper with the layout. They sent preliminary drawings liked it, sent deposit and then Rob came to do the measurement. He made some very awesome suggestions on a dead space we had. Rob sent updated drawings, agreed and they installed the cabinets and granite this month, January 2017. The cabinet installer was fantastic. He was precise, professional and installed our cabinets perfect. He was clean, clean work site very nice man. Granite installed was going to be delayed and due to a conflict they came out on a Sunday and installed my countertops and could not ask for a better job. Can barely see my seams, everything is level, sturdy, installed correctly. Could not have asked for a better installation and compared to some of my neighbors by far the best in our neighborhood. I would say they are probably extremely busy now since we have to go far to get supplies and services since there is a shortage here. I have a very beautiful kitchen and quite frankly the quality is the same as "custom cabinets" being installed. I would recommend them to anyone and in fact they will have installed at 3 house just on my street in Prairieville. read more
