Yesterday, we finally closed on our home in Christiansburg. Thanks to the amazing work Jeremy has done for us! We've been wanting to sell this house since we left Virginia. We've used a different realtor before who wasn't very helpful at all. It wasn't until sometime last year when our rental property manager (Aaron Harris Kirby from Pointe West Management) referred us to Jeremy when we tried to sell the house again. Back then, it was rather late in the season for selling and colder weather is rolling in. While our home sat empty after our last renter left and after we had made major repairs on it, we decided to try to sell it. But we also couldn't afford to let the house sit empty a few months and our chances of finding a renter is also getting slim. So, we had our home listed for "rent OR sale". And we told our property manager and Jeremy that whichever comes first, we'll take it. Jeremy totally respected our decision and although we also listed our home for rent, Jeremy still went above and beyond into aggressively trying to find us a buyer. Well, we got a renter soon thereafter and we informed Jeremy to remove our home from his listings. He gladly took it off and we told him we would like to attempt to sell it again towards the end of our tenant's contract this year. We were pleased to hear back from Jeremy again a few months after. He thought his in-laws might be interested in buying a property in the area and it's looking like our home would be a good fit for them. The fact that he contacted us meant that he still had our property in mind - that's a good realtor right there! Then, a few months before our tenant's lease is up, we heard back from Jeremy again. He sent us statistics on the area and he said our home is in the perfect position to sell. He asked us if we would like to start listing it earlier on (of course, with the cooperation and consent of our tenant). It worked out perfectly as our tenants are also buying their own home somewhere and they needed to break the lease earlier. In a week or so, we've had multiple viewings and some offers! Which, by the way, has never happened when we went with our previous realtor. In less than a month, our house sold and the offer we took was pretty close to our asking. Almost 7 years of trying to sell this home and we now finally got to end this ordeal! Thank God for the amazing work that Jeremy and his team has done for us!! We very HIGHLY recommend!!

We were referred to them by another friend who's been using this company for their rentals. Our friend spoke very highly of them. And for good reasons!!! Everything was so easy. We got our home rented quick and we've had great renters through them so far. Now our house just sold and it was a very easy turnover. They also referred us to our realtor (and a really good one too! It's called Nest Realty and I'm going to leave a separate stellar review on them as soon as everything is finalized). It's been an absolute pleasure hiring them. I highly recommend as well!!

Unethical and deceptive listing practices. Very shady…read more My spouse and I applied for a short-term rental here, only to be hit with massive hidden costs at the very last second. To start, the actual short-term rate was $350 more per month than what they advertised online--a markup that is completely omitted from their public website. We adjusted our budget and explicitly asked for all terms upfront via text to ensure there were no more surprises. They told us to apply, taking $98 total in application fees ($49 per adult). They didn't even bother to check our references before sending over a lease loaded with predatory, unmentioned fees: a $199 per person "account setup fee" and a ridiculous $600 non-refundable cleaning fee for a tiny 600 sq. ft. apartment. When we called them out on these hidden charges, the manager didn't say, "You can find our fee schedule online." Instead, he casually told us, "They're on the first page of the lease." They pocket your application money first, and only disclose the real numbers once you're locked in. Expect to pay at least $1,000 more than advertised. Save your money!

This review isn't to complain about Scott (I could go on for hours about that).... it's to tell you what you can do to OUTSMART him like I did. Because he is lazy and does not care about how his properties are kept, he leaves himself exposed for any sort of legal battle. If you listen to the following tips, I guarantee you will not only get your full security deposit back, but also be able to get more from Scott: 1) Take Photos of EVERYTHING when you move in 2) Record every sort of incident on your property, and immediately email Scott - if he doesn't respond email him again 3) A phone call counts for nothing - get everything in writing. Follow up every phone conversation with an email detailing what was said 4) Force him to get quotes - If damage is caused in your house and it's your fault, don't let him bring his uncle in to charge you 4 times the amount that is due for repairs. He dropped a wall repair from $900 to $300 when we questioned him about it, showing that he lies on the price and keeps the extra money. 5) Don't be scared - No matter what this guy throws at you, believe me it is total garbage and probably illegal too. He may seem tough, but he knows that he is in the wrong and will give up if you show you aren't messing around. I am a 22 year old engineer and have no legal background, but managed to force Scott's hand to settle with me out of court. He tried to take the security deposit for our house. It was an absolute dump when we moved out, but it was in the same exact state when we moved in and he had no right to try and take $1000 from us. He had a lawyer and lied to me throughout the whole process, basically daring me to take him to court. He ignored me and pretended he did nothing wrong right up until 3 days before our court date, upon which he caved and desperately tried to negotiate a settlement. I ended up with more money than our initial deposit, but believe me nothing was more satisfying than seeing him squirm while handing me that check. Listen to the tips I said above and don't let him take advantage of you. All it takes is a small effort and maybe if this guy loses enough money eventually he will learn to respect his tenants.

Parents of college students looking for off-campus housing: Please Read…read moreAs your students begin searching for off-campus housing, I want to share our experience and encourage you to document everything. We recently moved out of Maple Ridge Townhomes https://www.facebook.com/mapleridgetownhomes and have spent over a month disputing charges that were assessed against us after move-out. What's frustrating is that many of the items we were charged for were issues we documented when we moved in, including wall marks, damage to flooring, broken countertops, damage to the front door frame, and other maintenance concerns. When we arrived in August 2025, the unit was not in the condition we expected. We scrubbed walls, cleaned bathrooms, and spent significant time cleaning the apartment ourselves. We chose not to complain about every issue because we understood this was student housing and assumed some wear and tear came with the territory. However, we did document and report major damages and maintenance issues. After move-out, we were surprised to receive charges for some of those same documented conditions. We have also been charged for things such as hard water stains in the tub, a small piece of lint left on the carpet, and even a mark behind a bed where the provided metal bed frame rubbed the wall. We also know the current tenants and they have confirmed these items were not fixed upon their arrival and remain. So I am sure they too will be charged. What has been most disappointing is the difficulty in getting clear answers and timely responses while trying to resolve these concerns. Despite conversations where certain charges appeared to be acknowledged as questionable, we have not seen meaningful resolution. At this point, it is not about the amount of money. It is about fairness, transparency, and making sure students and their families are not paying for damages that existed before move-in. My advice to any parent considering student housing: Take hundreds of photos and videos before your student moves in. Move the furniture from the wall and crawl under the bed. Submit maintenance requests immediately for every issue, no matter how small. Keep copies of all emails and correspondence. Save move-in inspection reports and documentation. Expect that you will not get your security deposit no matter what you do. Do your research, had I done google searching on Maple Ridge and read all the reviews I would have understood that this is their standard. I hope our experience helps other families avoid the frustration we've been dealing with. If your student is considering Maple Ridge or any student housing community, make sure you thoroughly document the condition of the property from day one. Please check out a few of the arrival photos below and compare against departure. It's not even about the money at this point it's about what's right and these students are getting taken advantage of!!
