This review is super belated, I should have posted months ago! If you are serious about making a commitment to change your lifestyle and get fit. Ron is the perfect trainer for you! I was looking to lose some weight ( about 10lbs) and basically just to get lean ( not really a solid goal, because I knew these things aren't magic but happen over time) During our consultation, Ron was was very honest about what type of commitment would be required and also what are some realistic goals etc etc. For the first 2 months, I met with Ron twice a week and then once a week for the last month. Each session is about 30-minutes and you are expected to do some take-home workouts and follow a recommended diet. Be aware you also have to sign up for either a gym membership or a single day pass for when you train with him at the World Boxing Gym, and there is also a body fat test that you can do once a month to see your progress! 30 minutes you say? That does that not seem like a lot? I will tell you now, I never EVER knew how hard I could work and sweat until I spend 30 minutes with Ron! Brace yourself! But during these sessions, Ron is will work at your pace but also push you as far as you can go!! It will all be worth it and I often surprise myself with how much I can do now! He will teach you a lot of things and do his best to find things that suit you. After training with Ron I went from 33.9% body fat to 19% body fat and lost about 10lbs. I was able to gain a lot of more muscle and I was definitely able to see the difference. ( My boyfriend lets me wear sleeveless yaay! ) The 3 months were definitely tough. I prob did 90% of the workouts Ron asked of me and followed 89% of the diet....(he always pushed me to do better!) But my biggest take away was all the knowledge you gain from Ron about taking care of your body. You will be confident of going to the gym by yourself equipped with all the things you learn and be able to workout independently. I used to be terrified of the idea of going to the gym (i just did not know what to do with myself), so I would only take classes or do videos at home. Now I enjoy working out and feeling the body sweat. I feel so accomplished each time I finish my entire workout! I can even do 10 push ups no problem now!! This boot camp is led by such an amazing trainer. I was very apprehensive about "another boot camp", but trust me, this is not your average boot camp. Ron takes the time to get to know you and what your goals are and then helps you to achieve them. He will ask more of you than you think you can give but you are so wrong. You can do anything and he believes in you while pushing you to go that extra rep. Last but not least, Ron will assist you with all of your nutrition. Did not have a good first experience here. Being new meant I didn't know the protocol and was met with a lot of impatience by the front desk and the trainer. I felt extremely criticized which is not something you want during group workouts. When it came to the actual boot camp class, I wasn't provided any direction as to what we should be doing or any critique on form. I ended up having to resort to watching the other people in the class to figure out the work out. In my opinion, I asked too many questions of "what are we doing now?" "how many reps?" than I thought was necessary. And in the end, I left with a tweaked shoulder. Based on this very negative first experience, I won't be going back. If after this, you are still considering coming, I will say that their facilities are fine/nice. The bathrooms are functional, but not pretty (not that that's too important). They have two showers (but no shampoo, towels, etc) and plenty of lockers. This is in reference to the women's locker room, specifically. Additionally, they have a large space for weights and cardio. read more
